Should Christians be allowed to own a gun legally?

Yes those are the 2 chapters. Its also the gospels where Jesus spoke about the end of the world.

I would say yes. You are saved from an eternal Hell but since you are here in this world you gotta do what it takes to prolong your life. I wasnt pro gun before but have been convinced of the merits of gun ownership by some very passionate Americans.

What about passionate Americans like THIS, who don't think it's a good idea for you to have a weapon? These guys have careers where they put their lives on the line for their pay.. Maybe we should cut them some slack?

There are plenty of reasons people have firearms and there's no bar to having one as a Christian unless you think you would be tempted in so owning said gun to go rob a bank or commit murder. But if the fact of owning said gun is not a temptation to do evil then it's perfectly fine to own one (or more).

I don't know if I told you this, but I used to have a martial arts school. I helped folks to learn the use of weapons to defend against attacks, muggings, robbery, etc.
Women and Children were taught escape and evade techniques to prevent obduction.
To take the philosophy that they should not learn how to escape and defend against kid knapping or murder, because to do so would not be "trusting God", is ludicrous.
That would make young David a bad guy for resisting Goliath. That would make the angels who saved Lot and his family from being raped by all the city, sinful angels rather than protector's of the Lord's righteous people.

This interview with Dr Gary Kleck slipped through the censors. Volume is a little low, but hopefully not too low to hear. He did the foremost research on the subject that I'm aware of. He even interviewed career violent felons in prisons what their views were. The lady i last posted kind of sums it up.

 
He is definitely wrong about background checks. I give credit where it's due, but must disagree with that last point he made. If background checks were required for personal transfer or sales between individuals, this would not reduce crimes. All that it would do is to provide the most powerful criminals with the personal information of every compliant citizen owning a firearm. This is how every draconian mass murderer has disarmed populations.
