Please clarify your point.......your comment can be applied in two ways.
Not to miss lead.
My point pertains to what Paul explained in Romans:
"Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." Romans 6:3-6

Wrong.
You need to Study the Bible.

Baptism is Required

Peter 3: 21.... whereunto even baptism doth also now save us...

John 3:5 .......Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

Acts 2;38-....Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 22;16... And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Galations 3:26...... For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

KJV Marrk 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

KJV Matthew 3:14... But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? 15. Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now, for thus it becometh us to fulfil all rightesousness. Then He suffered Him.

KJV Matthew 28:19..... Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:.

Acts 10;47-48...
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.
Acts 8:12-18: But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Acts 19:4 And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.”

John 3; 22 After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near to Salim, because there was much water there: and they came, and were baptized.

Quote from Billy Graham that is note worthy;
....Also, to clarify I did not say remission of sin takes place at repentance. Scripture makes it clear that it occurs upon obedience to water baptism in the name of the Lord Jesus. Each is a step of faith, along with receiving the Holy Ghost, in the process of one's spiritual rebirth

.."Paul explains the doctrinal significance of what occurs when one is baptized. His explanation is found in his letter to those who had already been obedient to the command.

Paul tells the Roman Christians what actually occurred when they were/are baptized; they were baptized into His death. Being buried with Jesus into His death resulted in their sin being destroyed.

Even though Paul explains this concept, the NEW AGE RELIGION TEACHING is......... that water baptism is nothing other than a mere public display.......... And that is so far removed from the truth.

Keep in mind that Satan knows if he can continue to perpetuate that lie ...... he can keep people from entering the kingdom of God. Thus He has proven scripture which says ...in the end times there will be ...great delusions.....they are here.

Conclusion....teaching that baptism is not necessary is violation of Rev. 22;19.... And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. (Also two other books of the Bible).
Wrong. You need to Study the Bible. Try to understand these verses: "For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God; it is not from works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

a) By grace are you saved. Baptism is not grace, it is a ritual.
b) Through faith.
c) This is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
d) It is not from works. Baptism is a work.
e) No one can boast, as you are doing.

When you understand about salvation being God's gift and the ritual of baptism we can discuss this further.

Jesus did not say get baptized AFTER you are saved. He said he who believes and is baptized shall be saved. Those who refuse to believe what is stated are damned. Jesus stated this reality in John 12:48. "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day."
Try reading your Bible with the goal of understanding what it says instead of trying to prove your false doctrine.

It would be fun to see one of these tell us:

I took an aspirin/Tylenol/what-have-you for a headache and it failed to give me a headache!

Would you explain both the meaning and relevance of your post?

I wrote "Try reading your Bible with the goal of understanding what it says instead of trying to prove your false doctrine" and that was you reply???

A favorite stand-by for those who believe water baptism is necessary for salvation is Acts 2:38~

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ
for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

If faith is a gift from God then why don’t all people have that gift? I thought God wanted no one to perish. Are you saying that God withholds the gift of faith to some while bestowing it on others? Doesn’t that mean God chooses who is saved and who goes to hell?

2 Peter 3:9 LEB
The Lord is not delaying the promise, as some consider slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not want any to perish, but all to come to repentance.
ALL Scripture is Truth just as you pointed out in 2 Peter 3:9

This verse does not conflict with the verses i gave you in Post #816

Always remember that Scripture never lies, for no lie comes from the Truth = 1 John 2:21
Therefore we all must submit to the Word of God in every word spoken to us from our Father = Matthew 4:1-4

Since our LORD and Savior said that faith unto Salvation is IMPOSSIBLE for dead men to generate then we KNOW that ALL GOOD Things come down from the Father including our faith unto Salvation.

TRUTH Challenge for you = search the scriptures for understanding to be able to see from the Father's Heart above.
1st CLUE = meditate on the scripture verses in Post #816

Nice, you didn’t answer all of my questions.

Anyway, I strongly disagree with post #816 for the reasons I just mentioned in my response to it in post #817.

Faith is something we chose to have. It’s a work.

John 6:28,29
28 So they said to him, "What shall we do that we can accomplish the works of God?"
29 Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God: that you believe in the one whom that one sent."

1 Thessalonians 1:3
because we remember your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the presence of our God and Father,

2 Thessalonians 1:11
for which purpose we also pray always for you, that you may be considered worthy of the calling of our God, and he might fulfill every desire for goodness and work of faith with power,

James 2:22
You see that faith was working together with his works, and by the works the faith was perfected.

Now that I’ve proven to you with Bible verses that faith is a work. You have a Truth Challenge now. Which passage in the Bible says faith is not a work or it’s a gift from God?

Get into scriptures for understanding.
Grace is the umbrella of forgiveness created by Christ sacrificing His life on the cross.

There are things we must to to receive it;

1) We must repent of our sins...publicly..acknowledging God as our Creator and ask Him for forgiveness of our sins. (oh...is that works too?)

2) We must be baptized. Thereby, acknowledging Christ as our Savior . WE THEN ARE ...BORN AGAIN.

3) We must live a righteous life ....unto the end.(death). (oh...is that works too?)

You can have your "ritual" but, God has His commandments.

Suggest you follow them.

Ephesians 2:8, "For by grace you are saved through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God"
That says that salvation is not from ourselves so salvation is the gift, not faith. It is because of our faith we are given grace and salvation.

Romans 5:1,2
1Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Hebrews 11:6
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Salvation as a gift:

Romans 5:15
15But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.

Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

On the day of Pentecost when the first influx of believers took place, they were told "Repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sin and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."

Can anyone tell me if baptism is not important to salvation why were the first converts told to be baptised?

Who were the converts on the day of Pentecost?

It was a Jewish festival of Shavuot.

Hmmm

Water baptism cannot save anyone nor can it wash away sins.
Only the Precious Blood of Jesus the Messiah, the only Begotten Son of God, can wash away our sins.

There is a specific reason why water baptism was being performed by John the Baptist and why the LORD partook in it and then commanded us to do the same.

Never base your salvation upon outward works = "Not by works lest any man should boast."

There are many on here promoting 'works salvation', which is error and not of the Truth.

No.

Mark 16:16
The one having believed and having been baptized will be saved, but the one having disbelieved will be condemned.

Note it doesn't say, the one having disbelieved and not being baptized will be condemned.

Who did Jesus baptize in liquid water? Book, chapter, verse?

No one.

If liquid water immersion Dave's Jesus missed teaching by example.

John 17:2
2 even as You gave Him authority over all flesh, that to all whom You have given Him, He may give eternal life. 3 This is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4 I glorified You on the earth, having accomplished the work which You have given Me to do. 5 Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. 6 “I have manifested Your name to the men whom You gave Me out of the world; they were Yours and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7 Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You; 8 for the words which You gave Me I have given to them; and they received them and truly understood that I came forth from You, and they that You sent Me. 9 I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but of those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours;

John 17:17
I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name which You have given Me; and I guarded them and not one of them perished but the son of perdition, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled.

Acts 16:31
And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.”

I Corinthians 1:
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized into the name of Paul? 14I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius, 15so no one can say that you were baptized into my name. 16Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that I do not remember if I baptized anyone else. 17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with words of wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

You should direct that last remark to the one that introduced the idea concerning the thief and baptism.🙄

Belaboring man's point, the thief was or was not baptized, is contrary to proper exegesis. And unworthy of Christians to add such a thing to that part of the testament just to further their works salvation heresy.

I for one will not sully the scriptures as others do by continuing in this abuse of the word.
Sadly it appears that is the purpose and intent of some.
The thief on the cross was baptized in the name of the Father because he repented and took ownership of his wrongdoing. He was baptized in the name of the Son because he believed in Jesus and salvation through Him. He was baptized in the name of the Holy Spirit because Jesus assured him of his salvation. Thus, not water baptism, but baptism in the name of the Father, in the name of the Son, and in the name of the Holy Spirit.
