Sure. So does James. His point is that the ONLY WAY to demonstrate your faith to others is by your deeds.

And your former pastor demonstrated his faith to others, as you observed.

iow, he was living out his faith, which ALL believers are to do.

However, did this pastor think he was working for salvation? yes or no.
I am not him how I know the reason hi did it

Fair enough. If this is the pastor you earlier said taught eternal security, then there is no way he would think he was working for his salvation. He would know better than to make such a statement.

No, Jesus NEVER said that. Where do you get your ideas from, since they don't come from the Bible?

Jesus said whoever believes POSSESSES eternal life in John 5:24. That's rather clear, right?
Jesus said recipients of eternal life (Jn 5:24) shall never perish in John 10:28. That's also rather clear, right?

Jesus NEVER said salvation is by works, as you fantasize.

I don't care what you think. Your opinions are very unbiblical and offensive to me. As I've shown you over and over.

Your question is so mumbled up that I can't figure out your point? Can you please re-phrase so as to be understandable?

The "sheep" in Matt 25 are "the righteous" of v.46. That proves that the "sheep" are believers.

Maybe you don't undersand that God credits/imputes the righteousness of Christ to EVERY believer.

We are NOT "the righteous" based on any work or deed that we do, which is what it seems YOU think.

Memorize Isa 64:6 - All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; (USED MENSTRUAL RAGS) we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

That's what God thinks of human righteousness.

And you don't even understand the principle of fellowship with the Lord and being filled with the Spirit. Only under these conditions can a believer perform divine good. All else is merely human good, and very offensive to God.
so you don’t believe Jesus ever say on Matt 25 ;34=41

So you don't read my posts very carefully.

Jesus didn't say what you claim He said. Just like you don't believe what He CLEARLY said in John 5:24 and 10:28.

Did you miss the 2 question marks (?) in my post. Those represent questions. For you to answer. Why won't you answer the 2 questions?

Look at my statement about each verse, and answer the question about my statement beign clear and what the verse teaches.

Returning to the OP... Any time I see the phrase "majority of Americans" I wonder how that was arrived at. Did the author actually go out and survey the opinions of millions of people or is it just a judgmental assumption?

If anything they poll a sample of people and extrapolate it. It’s not really accurate and with statistics you can sorta spin it any way you want. Would be interesting to see their polling and survey metrics which are curiously absent from the article.

Correct. Most polls are bogus. Since the population of the USA is around 330 million (330,000,000), even sampling 1 out of 1000 would require a survey of 330,000 people. And would also require an honest cross-section of everyone.

Most of the time I think it's just trying to justify their doctrine by setting themselves apart from most of the population, but actually it has no basis. "Most people believe ... but I am smarter than they are."

What about "Most people believe.... But the Bible plainly says differently."?

I've already told you to READ the whole text, which ENDS at v.46.

Yes, the text mentions sheep and goats. Clearly referring to human beings, the saved and the unsaved.

This is PROVEN in the LAST verse, v46 - Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

You mistakenly think this means that those who helped the poor are righteous (because of what they did for others).

However, that kind of thinking is antithetical to the Bible.

The words "the righteous" is technical for saved people; saved by grace through faith, not of works. Eph 2:8,9

Read all of Romans 3-4. There, you will find that God CREDITS or IMPUTES the righteousness of Christ to those who believe in Him.

So, v.46 clarifies the whole text about sheep and goats. The sheep are saved by grace through faith, and the goats are the unsaved, because they NEVER believed in Him.

But you are free to make your own bed and believe whatever you want. But there are consequences for not believing what Jesus said about eternal security.

I am unable to decipher this sentence. Could you re-phrase more clearly, please?
last verse 46 base verse 34-41
that was believer did

you need to believe and endure to the end

From my perspective, what you said is plausible. The other possibility is that Paul was confessing to being a raging sinner.

After praying, I think it’s more likely that Paul wrote what he did in Romans 7 to make a point. I think what you said is probably the angle he was coming from.
Basically it was his testimony....What he experienced when he went from death..To Life...AKA, being born of God. As you know, When we are born, we are born into sin...AKA,....Slaves of sin.
Until we are freed from the bondage of our master, Sin, we will continue to sin.
How do we get free from this bondage?

Paul gives a marriage Analogy in the first few verses of (Romans 7), which gives us the answer to that question.
Which I will explain...
Paul is simply saying, we can not be free of our master/Husband, until he dies!!
Now how does that happen?
When, The wife/The Believer.... commits Adultery, the penalty for that Adultery is death.
How does a believer commit adultery against their husband/ Sin Master?
Sin wants us to do Evil,....Christ.... the one we Love, doesn't want us to sin, he wants us to do acts of righteousness...To Love God and Love our neighbor.
So our acts of righteousness, are like acts of Adultery, when sin is your husband/master.
So without those Good works...those Acts of Righteousness, ...Those acts of Adultery, sin....will not die.

Had to make this short...Outta time....But if you have any questions or comments...

Well, thank you for your transparency. And by this answer, you have clearly shown that you do NOT believe what Jesus said about those who will NEVER PERISH. That means salvation is secure. And we know from John 5:24 that when a person becomes a believer, they possess eternal life.

you need to believe and endure to the end
For the 7 year tribulation, yes. For soul salvation, HELL no.

and Jesus detail what believer do in Matt 25 as a sheep
What they do doesn't have any effect on their SECURE salvation.

if you say you are believer but not do as sheep did you are liar
Are you so unaware of the Bible that you have MISSED all of the commands to be holy and blameless? Why would the Holy Spirit guide the writers of Scripture to include these commands IF IF IF all believers DO what is described?

Are you able to figure that out? Or do I need to explain it to you?

The FACT that you blatantly reject what Jesus said about who possesses eternal life from John 5:24 and the guarantee for possessors of eternal life in John 10:28 shows that you are yourself a liar.

You claim to follow Jesus but you reject what He teaches. Instead, you have focused on a verse that the context shows is about the 7 year tribulation.

Thank you for expanding on the concept of "fellowship".

Now, once again, I will show you how "fellowship" isn't guaranteed in salvation, as you suppose.

In God's plan for the permanent relationship of marriage, does the marriage GUARANTEE fellowship in that relationship?

Another example: parent and child. This is a permanent relationship. Does this relationship GUARANTEE fellowship?

In both examples, if one party offends the other, fellowship is, as the father of the idiot prodigal son said, dead or lost.

Do you know what offends God? Sin. Sin breaks fellowship with God. Fellowship is restored WHEN (and only when) the sin is confessed per 1 John 1:9.
