Anyhow, it looks like gay lizard porn to me...if there is such a thing...and I was wondering if anybody else saw the same.
But, like I said, I am blind in one eye, and the other doesn't see too great, either.
The hardest thing for me to actually do is walk.
Just earlier today, a lady rammed into my left ribs (I'm blind in my left eye) with her shopping cart. That's better than the lady who almost broke my leg with her baby stroller not too long ago.

This is a 'nothing burger' and me not being familiar with the scene in you're pic I had to blow it up to see what was going on. TBH nothing said by Live4 struck me as an attack to you and at a glance I have to agree w/him. This doesn't mean we're accusing you of anything, just an observation, certainly not meant to offend.

Well, if someone thinks I put something up that's obscene, I think that's grounds to get at least somewhat offended -- if I'm innocent, that is. It's not an attack per se, and I don't believe I said that it was. But, that is a really disturbing thing to suggest that I was doing. So, I must disagree.

What I do know is - movie producers do put "suggestive" imagery in movies - which, in the context of the scene, may not suggest what the imagery in-of-itself may suggest - but, the intent is to place that "suggestive" imagery into your mind because of the what the imagery in-of-itself "registers" in your mind. (subconsciously if not consciously)
In other words, the imagery - [in or] out of context - "registers" in your mind as something they want to impress upon your thinking.
This is a real thing - with psychological nuances that make a real difference in the minds of people-at-large. (Not every individual, but people as a whole.)
People everywhere - all the time - with the best of intentions - promote-and-perpetuate this 'psychological' stuff without even realizing it. (Which is the whole idea - it is what the "evil bunch" wants.)
I am not suggesting anything about your intentions - I just want you (and others) to be aware of the thing...
Does it mean that we should just "shut down" and not express anything to anyone ever again (with such 'iconic' things as avatars, etc.) out of fear of making the wrong impression?
Of course not...
However, it does make sense for us to be aware of such things while remembering what the Bible says about abstaining from the appearance of evil - and, make good righteous judgments with regard to how we present ourselves - and God/Christ - to other people.

Okay... this is a rational thought, IMO, and I will respond with a rationally-worded response.
This avatar shows my love for Godzilla. He is the king of the Toho universe, and he cements that alpha status at the end of the 2019 film by destroying Ghidorah. And, he does it in a truly finalized way, by devouring what is left of his foe. That is all this pic is showing. It is not suggesting anything else. It is only to emphasize that Godzilla is ultimately a (fictional) animal and behaves like one in a fight to the death.

Does anyone else see anything "obscene" in this avatar? Ultimately, I don't want to fail to glorify God, so if this suggests something to someone who is weak, then it needs to be changed.

I honestly cannot believe that such a big deal is being made of what I actually said. I was getting ready for work early this morning and quickly perusing the forums while I was eating my breakfast. I noticed the new profile picture, and it honestly looked like a lizard performing fellatio to me. Granted, I have poor eyesight, but that's all that I was actually commenting on. In other words, I wasn't questioning Gojira's intent in posting the picture, but merely stating what it looked like to me.
Along these lines, I recently mentioned something about a "Christian" t-shirt that I used to own and wear many years ago on one of these threads. In that instance, the shirt depicted "Mary" holding the baby "Jesus", and "Jesus" was "white" on the shirt. Not being the least bit racist (I was married to a "black" woman for 17 years), and being somewhat new to the faith at that time, it really wasn't an issue with me. However, I was evangelizing on the streets of NY one day, and my friend and I engaged in some serious conversation about the Lord with a bunch of "black" Muslim men. Well, during our conversation, one of the men pointed to my shirt, and said "I don't want the white man's God".
Did I get offended?
No, I did not.
instead, I took it to heart, and I actually threw out that t-shirt the moment that I got home that day.
Anyhow, I agree with what you said about "abstaining from any appearance of evil", and I regularly seek to do just that myself.
As far as my "shipping" comment was concerned, seeing how this is a "shipping" thread, and seeing how this is the thread in which I first saw the new avatar, I incorporated that into my response.
I can assure you and others here that it wasn't some well-thought-out diabolical plot at my end to assassinate anyone's character or anything even remotely related to that.
The image simply looked like something to me, and, quite frankly, still does, and, again, that may be solely due to my poor eyesight.

I did not really think about it until Live4Him3 said something - because, my thinking is generally much more "innocent" - and, I tend to overlook a lot of things like that unless I am in a mindset to notice such as that. However, after it was mentioned - well - that changed everything a bit.
I believe you are missing the point. It is not that there is something "obscene" in the avatar - it is that the imagery displayed in the avatar is [psychologically] suggestive of something that may be considered "obscene" - do you see what I mean?

I'm sure no one thinks you put up something obscene being you know exactly what is going on in the picture. Some of us don't get it right off and it is what I consider an optical illusion and I agree with what Gary said about movies and imagery as in 'subliminal seduction'. NO OFFENSE TO YOU or your intent here, we know you better than that, but do you know us? Honestly, none of us would think you would post something objectionable, and the Bible tells us to hold back anger and think things through.
