Yes. It's not easy now, multi drug therapy for 1 to 2 years. Leprosy causes nerve and physical damage, which is irreversible.

In 2 Kings 5, Naaman is healed of leprosy. But yes, the healing was miraculous and from God :)

Just as Jesus healing leprosy was...

Same with healing blindness from birth. It was a clear sign
of Jesus being the Messiah, yet He was rejected none-the-less.

Old Testament

This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: and the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper; then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop: and the priest shall command that one of the birds be killed in an earthen vessel over running water: as for the living bird, he shall take it, and the cedar wood, and the scarlet, and the hyssop, and shall dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water: and he shall sprinkle upon him that is to be cleansed from the leprosy seven times, and shall pronounce him clean, and shall let the living bird loose into the open field. And he that is to be cleansed shall wash his clothes, and shave off all his hair, and wash himself in water, that he may be clean: and after that he shall come into the camp, and shall tarry abroad out of his tent seven days. But it shall be on the seventh day, that he shall shave all his hair off his head and his beard and his eyebrows, even all his hair he shall shave off: and he shall wash his clothes, also he shall wash his flesh in water, and he shall be clean.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭14:2-

New Testament (like all things of faith in Christ )

“And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean. And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭8:2-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

notice all the carnal obedience is gone and all the detailed process gone all the person and preists needed to do gone

but now his faith is placed in the messiah

8 When Jesus came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him. 2 A man with leprosy[a] came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”

3 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” Immediately he was cleansed of his leprosy. 4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Ah saints sit back and enjoy.

Leprosy is cleansed not healed. Leporsy is considered sin or a type of it.
When a person had this dreadful condition he was isolated from the populas. Hehad to declare him self unclean publicly as to comute to one place or another.
This disease starts at the small digits of the body. First looking like a rash then to the digets such as the ears, fingers, eyes, lips, toes ect rotting them off.
So in the story above you can imagine what this man looked like. What jesus was looking at.
Notice he said "to make him clean" not heal him. Only GOD can make us clean.
As the song goes...... What can wash our sins away? Nothing but the blood of jesus.
As the Lord says....though your sins are as scarlet... I will make them white as snow.

But theres more.

Jesus after he cleansed him siad not to tell anyone....but go to the priest and offer the gift moses commanded. Lev 14
You would think that word of mouth by him would bring others to jesus in time.
But Jesus knowing the scriptures knew that untill this day lev 14 was never fully completed.
You see after the priest did all that they had to do accordingto the law they had to gather all the jews together and publicly pronounce the man clean....and how.

Now can you imagine the chaos in the temple not only searching the scriptures that they never preformed but the testamony of "who done it".?

As a matter of fact there must have been a cure because lepers were also healed and declared to be clean by the priest:

LEVTICUS 14: THE LAW FOR DECLARING A LEPER CLEAN
1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 2 This shall be the law of the leper in the day of his cleansing: He shall be brought unto the priest: 3 And the priest shall go forth out of the camp; and the priest shall look, and, behold, if the plague of leprosy be healed in the leper; 4 Then shall the priest command to take for him that is to be cleansed two birds alive and clean, and cedar wood, and scarlet, and hyssop...

Leviticus 14.

the true priest doesn’t need the laws ordinances though just faith notice however he told the. Something me as they hears and obeyed thier blessing came that’s faith

“And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us. And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭17:12-14‬ ‭

that’s the true priest who declares men clean not by the law of Moses but by his own word of faith

“Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭4:14‬ ‭

Leviticus 14 is the ot law for a lepers cleansing , jesus is the cure without the law

yeah what’s your point ? It’s gone all the same do you think the ten lepers he “ cleansed “ were “ healed “ of leprosy ?

It’s just a matter of the word to “ heal “ leprosy is to be cleansed of leprosy honestly don’t see the point of haggering over a word but yes if that’s your point the word is different ….
there’s an ot law for dealing with leprosy is my point and there’s faith in the new for dealing with leprosy

but yeah there’s no statement using the word healed I don’t think it’s relevant that. Term Is different and didn’t realize that was your point or wouldn’t have commented because I don’t see a difference . sorry for missing the point

No ne was ever healed but Namaan until Christ.

leprosy is symbolic of the wages of sin - only in Christ is there salvation from sin, and the law foretells Him by giving the ceremony for cleansing of the one who has been set free from sin and death.

Yes, there is a cure: the cure is Jesus Christ crucified and risen!

The cleaning part of it all is this....JESUS has begun a good work in you and is faithful to finish it ..if we allow.
We are all sinners but there is no cure for sin...but we can be cleansed. Washed.
Look up all the scripture that have these words in them. You will find it is very different than a healing or cure.
With sickness fever stops. All symptoms stop.
But with sin the Lord says he cast it as far as the east is from the west and remembers it no more.

According to Scripture there were various stages for the healing of leprosy. And unless there was healing there could be no priestly cleansing.

As long as the law was in place, the ordinances were in force. And after Jesus healed some lepers He told them to go and show themselves to the priest. Christ upheld the Law of Moses totally until His crucifixion.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness

many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet;
and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian
(Luke 4:27)
what's interesting about this is that Jesus came along and started healing lepers by the hundreds, probably thousands.
He sent them all to the priests -- priests who had never performed the ceremony for cleansing a leper, whose fathers had never done it - who had never even heard of such a thing apart from Naaman, and even Naaman didn't go to a priest afterward.

synagogues flooded day after day with healed lepers, witnessing that the Messiah had come;
priests having to spend hours and hours daily carrying out Leviticus 14

gonna need a lot of cedar, scarlet and hyssop!

an interesting scene :)

Now cleanse doesn't mean heal. What next?
