Posthuman is saying that we should be joyous over being tortured. Not yourself. . . :) - He quoted the same verse.

we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us!
(Romans 5:3-5)

Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you,
and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.

(Matthew 5:11)

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you,
for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.
On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.

(1 Peter 4:14)

they departed from the presence of the council,
rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for His name.

(Acts 5:41)

Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test,
that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.

(James 1:12)

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials
(James 1:2)

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake.

(2 Corinthians 12:10)

i think we should remember the whole psalm:

You have answered Me.
I will declare Your name to My brethren;
in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
You who fear the Lord, praise Him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
and fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
nor has He hidden His face from Him;
but when He cried to Him, He heard!
(Psalm 22:21-24)

can God really be separated from Himself?
a house divided?
I am seeking to learn brother...
Why did Jesus say " My God My God , why have You forsaken Me...
When I read that , I think , because God cannot look upon sin , and Jesus had all our sin upon Him , did He feel that separation in His humanity ?

Posthuman is saying that we should be joyous over being tortured. Not yourself. . . :) - He quoted the same verse.

We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you.
Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, “I believed, and so I spoke,” we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
(2 Corinthians 4:9-18)
do the disciples have greater faith than Jesus Christ?
since they are not in despair, rejoice in their sufferings, do not lose heart but give thanks to God that they are counted worthy?

but you suppose Jesus the Almighty omniscient God was a pitiful, whimpering, blubbering mess, terrified and delirious, overwhelmed by care for His flesh, perplexed and dumbfounded, having lost all hope & heart, trembling with fear over some momentary light affliction and pain in His flesh?

if you are steadfast in your faith under persecution instead of sitting in a corner crying over what might happen to you, that it might hurt, are you better than God? can you 'handle it' with more strength than Christ if you are patiently enduring your death?

do you pity Jesus? do you want to tell Him not to worry, that it'll be OK?

do you feel like you need to coddle God and assure Him?

He's quoting -- i think singing probably -- the first stanza of a song every Jew there would know.
"
in a loud voice" - Matthew 27:46.
it brings to mind the whole psalm.

the Psalm has a name, it is called "the hind of the morning"
the hind is Israel, she despairs, thinking God has forsaken her.
God does not forsake her.

there is Christ on the cross, representing all Israel. the Son of David.
Israel thinks she is forsaken, but there is God Himself, saving Israel.
does Jesus know the whole Psalm?
is He ignorant of the conclusion of it?
;)

is He delirious? is He deceived? is He in despair, hopeless?
is He worried about His own flesh?
did He forget why He was on earth?
is He, God, frightened that His plan of salvation isn't going to work?
does He want to give up? is He afraid?

He says this because someone is saved by hearing it.
saving people, is what He does.

it's interesting, Matthew 27:47 records that some people thought He was calling Elijah.
they did not understand what He was saying.
but some did understand

I had to change this to a little love heart icon , because I have a little more understanding from your last post from the rest of the Psalm , and I actually think the Psalm s beautiful...

Posthuman said that Jesus was joyous. Lunacy

Jesus said to him,
Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise!"
(Luke 23:43)
do you picture Him saying this with trembling lips, weeping and blubbering with fear of pain, thinking it's all gone wrong, wishing He had never gotten Himself into this, willing to do anything to avoid it, in absolute despair & terror?

because i picture Him smiling.

Fear is not sin. Fear is part of being human.
part of being fallen, faithless human or part of being sinless & perfect human?
are we supposed to be afraid of our physical death? is that our faith?

is it God's will we doubt Him or that we fully trust Him, when we face our own mortality?

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
(Revelation 21:8)

Yes , I believe that also , and Jesus knowing us knew that we would fear...
Peter says we must cast all our anxieties on Him for He cares for us...
...xox...
what good does it do to cast my fear on Him if He is also afraid?
and if my anxiety is good, shouldn't i rather cling to it than lay it at His feet?

Jesus wept because the people did not believe God would awaken Lazarus. They believed that Lazarus was dead and gone.

But Lazarus still came forth at the command of the Lord Jesus! Amen

What a bizarre way of interpreting Scripture.
glorifying Christ is bizarre?
taking the high view of Him is weird?

bro i think pitying Christ & feeling sorry for Him is bizarre. but that has become the norm.

oh poor, poor Jesus Christ the Almighty God, don't worry, it'll be OK.
if only He knew that it would turn out alright, maybe He could have been strong enough to bear it.
if only we'd been there to console Him and teach Him.
((passes offering plate))
we can do better than Jesus when it's our turn; we'll be brave - because we trust God more
where He was weak we'll be strong

Now I must admit I do not understand what you are saying
I know Jesus did not fear at all , but we do fear , and I know when I am in fear , knowing I can bring all my worries to our Lord gives me comfort in my spirit , so what am I missing ?

not missing anything.
i was saying if Jesus is full of fear, He is no comfort to us.
it's because He is not, that i can trust Him - because He was tested in every way as i am, and He overcame it all!

if He fell and stumbled just like me, i may have empathy or sympathy.
but He didn't - so i have awe, and love, and know He is my Lord

1 Peter 4:13
But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
Maybe he had this in mind ?
There are lots of Scriptures about Joy in our trials and tribulations...I mean , the Martyrs , I believe they can and have gone through such torture for Christs name sake because they are completely covered by the power of the Holy Spirit , that keeps them through such horrific times , it is by His power that they can endure all suffering...We could not suffer for Jesus in our own strength...
...xox...
Just want to add something else to this post...
Many Christians have gone to their death singing , because they have the Joy of our Lord and Savior with them , the Joy from the Holy Spirit , and it sure does give me comfort ...

JESUS WEPT.——Could it be that Jesus was sad that He had to bring Lazarus back to live in his old body again?
Paul said he knew it was better to end this earthly life and begin his life in the Spirit. So, Lazarus was kind of short-changed by having to come back, and Jesus did love him.

1) Why would Jesus pray that "this cup" would be taken from Him?
2) If Jesus needed strengthening, what was His weakness?
3) What kind of "agony" was Jesus suffering from? He wasn't taken captive as of yet.
4) What does it mean that His sweat became like drops of blood?
5) Why was Jesus sweating? Was it hot in early April?
He was in agony over you & i, and all His sheep.
have a look at John 17 - we are left in the world, and He prays that we be protected from The Evil.
He has compassion on us, and He knows what doubts you will have, and troubles, and how hard it will be for you without His presence on earth. how i will sorrow, and long to see Him. how long we will wait.

what do you think?
is He is only thinking of Himself and His own comfort?
He's thinking of you.

Jesus was quoting Psalm 22. Everything Jesus said and did was for our benefit. When the sins of the world fell on Him, and Jesus cries out in what may look or sound like despair, He is, in the opinion of some, perhaps many, expressing the feelings of those upon whom God's wrath shall fall at the end of this age, following the resurrection and judgment of all, as they face their certain end in the Lake of Fire. The whole of this Psalm speaks of Christ's suffering and death, and yet the Psalmist overall, even in his deepest despair and darkest moments, always knew that God is faithful and steadfast.
