The Levitical Law absolutely began at Sinai.

The Law of God's Love, of the Son of His Love, began from the foundation of the world.

The Levitical Law was added because of transgressions. If there were no transgressions the Levitical Law would not exist.

The Bible even records: "And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: “Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your hearing today, that you may learn them and be careful to observe them. The Lord our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, those who are here today, all of us who are alive."

This promise vested in Abraham but the covenant was confirmed between Christ and God, the Father and the Son. This is the covenant that per-existed the Law: this is covenant the priests, before the Law, administrated. You cannot have priests without a covenant.

"And this I say, that the law, which was four hundred and thirty years later, cannot annul the covenant that was confirmed before by God in Christ, that it should make the promise of no effect."

I get that we like things to be written down and in a "Thus say-ith the Lord..." form, but it simply was not so.

Adam walked with God. As did others. It was through this relationship, God with man, that men learned the mind of God. This was then passed to their children, and to their children's children. David was one such man in this line: a king who was also a priest. That is how he could eat the show bread and not be killed: he was acting out of a higher covenant: the sons of God.
Adam & Eve instructed both Cain and Abel that animal (sheep) blood as a sacrifice was required by the LORD.
Cain despised this as it meant he would have to humble himself and go to his brother for the acceptable sacrifice.
Never worked out that way and Cain slew Able.

"But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life." - John 5:40

So Cain killing Abel should not have been a problem then?
Adam knew God's ways by walking with Him. Of course Cain killing Abel it was contrary to the character of God. Furthermore, Cain's offering, of the work of his own hands, was also contrary to God's covenant wherein only what God supplied would be acceptable.

You're mistaken to think that the character of God was not known unless it was written down. If you have children, I doubt you've written to them a list of dos and don'ts but, instead, talked with them and showed them how to be according to their calling.

More broadly: that God would supply the acceptable sacrifice. (We see this with Abraham and Isaac). Cain offered the fruit of the toil of his own hands.

Coincidentally, the first murder was a religious murder. Today the dichotomy is being re-created: those who "do things for God" vs. those who are led by the Spirit. The former will kill the latter thinking they are doing God a service.

Cain was a big pain
he did not offer righteous Blood
instead of love Cain brought grain
God not wanting something to eat
accepted Abel's sacrifice at His Feet
for grain was the work and toil of men's hands
that toil from the soil could not bring about God's Plan
So Cain grew ill for he swallowed a sour pill
once inside him it began to burn his will
ill will knocking constantly at his door
the door swung open to a serpent named poison
and Cain slew Abel and rejected God's Plan
now Cain was stuck with a Warning Label
a dire notice to every man not to be libel
the righteous blood on the ground came from Abel

Law must exist first, or there can be no transgression.
Transgression of what? A LAW.

Good point. How can it be added because of transgressions? There must have been a pre-existing covenant BEFORE the Law for there to be transgressions.

"What purpose then does the law serve? It was added because of transgressions, till the Seed should come to whom the promise was made...'

You cannot disobey the Law that is not given. BUT you CAN disobey the voice and direction of God. (“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.")

"Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6 And you shall be to Me .’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”

When the Lord called the people up to the mountain (including the priests) they were too afraid and they asked Moses to intercede for them "You hear the Lord for us and tell us what He says".

Instead of becoming "a kingdom of priests and a holy nation" only 1 tribe out of 12 became priests: the tribe of Levi.

The "transgressions", therefore, were that the people did not heed the voice of God. If they had, they would have become a Holy Nation of Kingly Priests. What they got was the Levitical Law and only 1/12 of the people became priests.

The Covenant active BEFORE the Law, indeed from the foundation of the world, was the Covenant of Sonship of God. Adam, the son of God, was one such priest. Melchizedek was another. Jacob, etc.

This is the priesthood Christ restored: the priesthood of Melchizedek.

Under the Levitical Law the Priests represent the People before God. ("You go up and hear for us.")
Under the priesthood of Melchizedek the Priests represent God before the People ("As My Father has sent Me, so I am sending you.") Our High Priest said that last line.

For us. the law informed us of our sinful flesh, the law described the depth of our sin. The law condemned us absolutely. No one is righteous, no one can obey the law. That was never the purpose of the law.

The revelation of the scripture was Jesus Christ.
It seems to me that one of the great purposes of the law is to be by the law. Christ said if you love me you will obey me.

The 23rd Psalm is a favorite of many, It says the Lord is my shephard, he leads me.

Yes, we are led by the Holy Spirit.

Yet, the law reveals our inherent opposition to everything that is holy.

The law was never given to create a holy people for the Lord, as the law has no regenerative power. The law is weak and useless and cannot save anyone.

Is the Law of Moses set aside?

Because people have different views of what the law of Moses is = so many different answers.

All i was aiming to show was that a law defined sin from the start. A Moral code of righteousness which defined sin.

Jesus paid the price and was the perfect example of righteousness.

The moral law has not changed, because God does not change what is right and wrong.
The moral law has been with humans from the beginning and has not been removed. Because Jesus paid the price (death) for transgressing the law, does not mean it is set aside.
The ceremonial (Levitical) laws were added because of sin. They pointed forward to Christ, to help people to understand how salvation works. Now that Christ has come the ceremonial laws are not needed. we have the real deal. We can still learn from the shadow laws for our spiritual understanding or growth.

The moral law can not be taken away, if the moral law can be changed or removed (set aside) then Jesus would not have needed to die for us because no law holds us guilty.
No moral Law = no sin = no guilt = no need for Jesus to Die.
A moral Law = defines sin = guilt = We need a saviour.

The moral law has not been set aside because we are still sinning today.
The laws that pointed to Jesus and His ministry, have been set aside because Jesus has come.

Isa_8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

In order to speak according to the law you need to know the law.

I don't think you can say that one law is valid and another law is no longer valid. Either you are under the law or you are not under the law.

You referred to, 'moral law', can you list the moral law in the law of Moses?

Remember the words of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ Son of GOD ;
"Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven". (Matthew 5:17-20)

and;
"Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them. For this is the Law and the prophets. Enter ye in at the strait gate. For wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat. Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. "(Matthew 7:12-23)

""For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. (1. John 5:3-4)"gg

That's well put. Jesus did not come to eliminate the 10 Commandments but to fulfill them. All 10 Commandments are fulfilled with Love of God and love of neighbor. If you sincerely love God with your whole heart and your neighbor as yourself, you'll never break, sin against the original 10 Commandments. Read about it in Matthew's Judgement of Nations. We show our love of God through love of neighbor.

Isa_8:20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

In order to speak according to the law you need to know the law.

This reads as if "salvation from sin" was the original intent of God.

This is wrong.

If it was all about avoiding sin, then why make man? Or just re-make him, right? I mean: how cheap is dirt?

"A man in Our image and likeness" was the original intent of God. This man was not Adam. This man was Jesus Christ.

"For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever."

Now, the corporate Man who is Christ (which includes Christ our Head and His body in heaven and earth) is the appearing of the glory of God in the world. This is the eternal mystery revealed in time and space:

"To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory."

This is the mystery of fellowship hidden in God from the beginning: that in Christ we become part of the Begotten of God who demonstrates the wisdom of God to all, including all who oppose Him.

when israel was dispersed into the nations the nations didn’t help them or give them mercy many of the nations converted to Judaism , but overall e nations tormented and rejected them bekng among tbier society and blamed e Jews for societies shortcomings

because of this the curse of the law was sent to all nations on earth as Israel was spread and scattered into every nation for breaking the law so was the curse of the law sent to everyone who’s ever sinned it’s why the gospel is sent later into all nations and no one can be saved without it

the law wasn’t written to Gentiles but it’s cursed all apply to gentile nations a good section of the ot prophets sets judgements and curses on all nations of earth because of the breaking of the law.

“Come near, ye nations, to hear; and hearken, ye people: let the earth hear, and all that is therein; the world, and all things that come forth of it.

For the indignation of the LORD is upon all nations, and his fury upon all their armies: he hath utterly destroyed them, he hath delivered them to the slaughter. And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. For it is the day of the LORD's vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭34:1-2, 4, 8‬ ‭

“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:5-6, 20‬ ‭

The judgements of the law are upon all the earth israel is the only nation that received a written law but the laws apply to all nations and people the curses for sin in the law are upon all nations and people so we all Need the gospel that began in Jerusalem to be forgiven and saved.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the gospel must first be published among all nations.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭13:10

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;

and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the curse of the law of sin and death is upon all People. So all need a savior

“Then said he unto me, This is the curse that goeth forth over the face of the whole earth: for every one that stealeth shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one that sweareth shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

I will bring it forth, saith the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him that sweareth falsely by my name: and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof. Then the angel that talked with me went forth, and said unto me, Lift up now thine eyes, and see what is this that goeth forth.”

The text does not identify the law as just the ten commandments. Nor does the text refer to the ten commandments as moral law. There are other so called 'moral laws' contained within the law of Moses and also, in fact, in the prophets.

There are at least two interpretations of the New Testament based on the meaning of the the word, 'commandments'.

Here is the first interpretation.

1 John 5:3-4
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God over cometh the world: and this is the victory that over cometh the world, even our faith.

So which set of commandments is John referring to?

When the context of 1 John is considered there are two commandments actually listed in 1 John.

1 John 3:23-24
This is His commandment, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He commanded us. The one who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. We know by this that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.

The second interpretation interprets the word, 'commandments', as always referring to the ten commandments.

So which interpretation is correct and why?

If the law of Moses is everything written in the first 5 books then the moral law was part of what Moses wrote about.

Moses wrote lots and covered a lot of time. The time before sin through to the time when they entered the promised land.
The moral law was given to Moses by God in the 10 commandments, God wrote them with His finger, and He wrote them on stone.
The same laws defined sin from the start and define sin today. God wants to write them on our heart today.

“For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:22, 24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that can save us now

Moses words and animal blood v Jesus words and his blood.

two laws and two covenants

“For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus

hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

turn the other cheek made me free from eye for an eye

“Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: ( the law of Moses )

but I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:38-39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

one word is life the other is death

If the law of Moses is everything written in the first 5 books then the moral law was part of what Moses wrote about.

Moses wrote lots and covered a lot of time. The time before sin through to the time when they entered the promised land.
The moral law was given to Moses by God in the 10 commandments, God wrote them with His finger, and He wrote them on stone.
The same laws defined sin from the start and define sin today. God wants to write them on our heart today.
Not sure if I understood your post.

There is moral law scattered throughout the law of Moses.

There was moral law in the garden that Adam disobeyed.

There is moral law given through the prophets.

Within the ten commandments there is a sabbath law, the sabbath law is not a moral law.

Your reply was incoherent.
