Why don't you think your resurrected soul can guide your family if no one else can?
You're too serious.
If you think it won't work, why don't you trust in God who will prepare and guide your family.
No, you're wrong here SXP. I'm absolutely confident my actions and reactions are what the Lord would expect of me. I've walked with Him for nearly 40 years, and listened to His voice only.

Everyone has gone thru different things that have brought them closer or farther away from the Lord. Just because you walked with him for 40 years doesn’t make you better and closer to him than someone who has only walked with him say 25.

I didn't question your relationship with God. Do you understand it wrong?

I haven't claimed to be better or worse than anyone else. Not sure how you came to that conclusion.

Where was your church when you married an unbeliever...were you married in that church. Did they question the wisdom of what you were contemplating? I would want to know that any church my daughter was fellowshipping at would have asked.

I really don’t think it’s any of your business where I was married. I told you I was young and also naive.

Unless I've misunderstood what you have said here, I believe this to be wrong...there's no such concept given in the Bible...

"You're too serious."
It's never 'too serious' to care about the welfare of your family. I wouldn't be loving them if I didn't think of the support of my own family, if I had one, with all seriousness. Concern about the welfare of our family if we leave them here on earth is very much a responsibility of the husband and father, it's an obligation they have before the Lord.

"If you think it won't work, why don't you trust in God who will prepare and guide your family.".
Jesus expects the church to care for each other. The church is His body, a healthy body has to eat healthy food, and exercise. Sometimes I fear we have fallen into a mindset similar to the cargo cult. waiting for God to parachute all help into us. His power was on show in the early church because the had everything in common, they were unified, and they helped each other out. They weren't waiting on God, instead, He was encouraging them to use what they already had.

Yes. But doesn't scripture say 'we will no longer need to teach each other'.
The context of 1 John 1:27 is about someone trying to teach you false doctrine. You don't need any man to be the one who tells you what is truth and rely on what they say. Because you have the Holy Spirit that will lead you and tell you when a man is speaking false doctrine.

26I am writing these things to you about those who are trying to lead you astray. 27As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

This does not mean that God does not give the gift of teaching by the Holy Spirit or that reading good commentaries from Holy Spirit gifted teachers is not helpful for our own learning and growth. It just means we should rely on the Holy Spirit to show us when someone is missing the mark. And we can reject their teachings as error.

Also, does it not say that for anyone led by the Holy Spirit, there is no set pattern to their coming and going.
I don't know what that means.

Also, does it not say that we are to test everything? Whenever I visited an assembly, after a while I used to apply this test. I used to ask myself this question...'if I died and left a family behind, would I feel confident that assembly would properly care for my surviving family, and provide support for my spouse including help for her to bring my children up in the unsullied ways of the Lord', and I always ended up with a 'no' answer. Sorry.
I am not sure if that is a test that we were told to apply when fellowshipping with a local church. I have never had such a thought in 40 years. I am not sure where you got it from the scriptures. But now that you brought it up.. Yes! All of the churches I have attended in 40 years would have been there for my family to see them through the crisis. The churches I attended, most of the families believed in homeschooling and we always were so close to several families they would have been there to adopt my son if needed.

The only way you could have such close relationships with people to expect that sort of thing would be to stay involved in a church serving and being that kind of person yourself. After years you would have developed such close relationships. There is no way one can visit a church and imagine whether this is the kind of church they could depend on for such a thing. It is not the church as an institution that would do it, it is the close relationship you would establish over time that would do it. Yes the church might help with funeral costs but adopting your children would come from those you have given permission to do so and become close to.

Your example reeks of fault finding, judging on outward appearance and an unhealthy view of local fellowships. I am not trying to argue with you but the lack of revelation concerning the importance of the local fellowship is glaring in your comments. The idea that one can get along fine without them, "just me and Jesus" concept is false teaching and anti New Testament and anti Christ. He who denies the body denies the head.

Yes, they do. And you can tell if someone has really come to terms with their bad decision making, by the humility they display. I haven't seen that in your postings, in fact I've seen the opposite, where instead you've merely tried to excuse yourself. Sorry, but I would be reticent to recommend you to any Christian man I know.

Sure you have. You have claimed you are right and EVERY SINGLE CHURCH YOU HAVE EVER SEEN IN THE ENTIRE WORLD is wrong. That is some serious elitism there.

It's as if to you Christianity is a way to feel good about yourself because you are so much smarter than everybody around you who claims to be a christian.

You are ignorant of God and His ways. We have nothing to offer each other.

Interesting. Not sure how you can come to that conclusion when these are just typed words and you aren’t actually in front of me. I feel as if you are trying to teach me something that isn’t true therefore I have my guard up

And brother I sure am glad of that! The lone wolves are the ones the enemy likes to pick off first.

I'm going to stay here under the leadership God established, where it's safe. Have fun out there.

Have you ever considered helping other people's families and brothers and sisters in the Lord.
Luke 3:31 And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
