I just scanned the different translations of Deuteronomy 14:26 on Bible Hub and it is clear that alcohol is being talked about.

Do you know of such a person?
Yes... several, and my social circle is pretty small.

The very first thing alcohol affects is one’s judgment, before speech, vision, or physical capabilities.
And? What of it?

You don't drink? Fine. You have reasons for not drinking? Fine. That's for you. You cannot make an airtight case from Scripture for everyone to do as you do, so stop trying. You won't convince those of us who read all of Scripture for ourselves.

Num 28:7: "And the drink offering thereof shall be the fourth part of an hin for the one lamb: in the holy place shalt thou cause the strong wine to be poured unto the LORD for a drink offering."
Deuteronomy 14:26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

2Cor 6:15: "And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?"
Deuteronomy 14:26 Use the silver to buy whatever you like: cattle, sheep, wine or other fermented drink, or anything you wish. Then you and your household shall eat there in the presence of the Lord your God and rejoice.

Have you done your Christian duty and read the material provided in the link from the beginning of the thread? At least read it once before close of probation.

Yep. And it's bunk. My. favorite is where the author confuses Petimezi with new wine. If you have ever had petimezi you too will find this hysterical on its face. It betrays a complete and utter lack of understanding of the source material at best or a deliberate twisting at worst. Both indictments suggest the author should be ignored.

Deu 29:19: "And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:"

Deu 32:33: "Their wine is the poison of dragons, and the cruel venom of asps."

Again. Context young man...

THEIR wine is the poison of dragons.

Whose wine?

Those who fit this description:

They are a nation without sense,
there is no discernment in them.
29 If only they were wise and would understand this
and discern what their end will be!
30 How could one man chase a thousand,
or two put ten thousand to flight,
unless their Rock had sold them,
unless the Lord had given them up?
31 For their rock is not like our Rock,
as even our enemies concede.
32 Their vine comes from the vine of Sodom
and from the fields of Gomorrah.
Their grapes are filled with poison,
and their clusters with bitterness.

About this nation the scriptures say: "their wine is the poison of dragons."

Question: do you think their wine was actually dragon poison or asp venom?

Whoa, slow down there, in your spiritual stupor, you seem to think I was referring to the ssnet link, when in plain English I spoke of the link at the beginning of this thread.

Isa 28:7: "But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment."
I’m pretty sure you would be great at picking fruit, especially cherries.

Sounds like people who drink too much.

oh we're just posting random scripture now?
ooh! i have one that no one has mentioned :)

Wisdom has built her house,
She has hewn out her seven pillars;
She has slaughtered her meat,
She has mixed her wine,
She has also furnished her table.
She has sent out her maidens,
She cries out from the highest places of the city,
“Whoever is simple, let him turn in here!”
As for him who lacks understanding, she says to him,
“Come, eat of my bread
And drink of the wine I have mixed.
Forsake foolishness and live,
And go in the way of understanding.
(Proverbs 9:1-6)

You obviously have no understanding of the nature of addiction. If we are going to toss out alcohol, then let's make sure we also get rid of all sedatives and opiates. After all, people could abuse them.
PARB - post and rubber band...a waste of time.
