The power of sin is great if we allow but it had a different affect on me, I bought into the whole never sinning thing I kept falling shot I kept not living up to perfection every sin I did disgusted me and made me hate myself I fell into a deep loathing of myself I would purposely attack myself every time I sinned to make sure I bled inside so I wouldn't do it again I was furious with myself I hated myself there was such rage towards myself such hatred such disgust and at night I would be weeping bitter tears grasping my soaked pillows as if trying to grab hold of some kind of hope for a filthy disgusting sinner like me I dared not even ask for forgiveness I dared not even look up to God's face from my shame for I knew my sins I knew I would try as hard as I could but I would eventually mess up again When I tell you it was the darkest storm in my life when I tell you I had such a burning hatred for myself I can't use words to do it justic except to say it was demonic in nature.

The more I tried to not sin the lower I became and the more I fell into this state this went on for about three months and it was actually @Lafftur who brought me out of it by reminding me to simply live in his love that I was called to his love and simply be his child, I remembered how it used to be with him how I used to just be filled with his love and spirit and enjoy ebing with him daily how I used to soak in his presence day in and day out how he and I kept things simple like a child and father and life returned to my soul a new fire kindled inside me.

This tactic may work for some but for others like me we flourish in love that is how we don't sin it is his love that gives us strength to be pure his love is all we need to be fed we don't need to worry about things like how little we sin because we naturally follow his flow and in his flow there is no sin yes there are times when we will fall but those who know his flow and his love are already seen in his eyes as sinless pure and spotless, people such as overcomer would not understand this for love is not his forte

Do you know what a slave to sin is? Do you think being Saved from it sounds like you get to continue doing it? Your flesh has come up with a sob story for you to give us -- all i hear is satan's voice.

brother the holy spirit will always be talking about the not sinning thing because it’s death to mankind . He is willing and able to forgive us when we make mistakes and repent but he’s always going to be calling us to repentance and life

we should buy fully into the not sinning thing that’s on almost every page of scripture it doesn’t make us sinless , but it brings sinners to repentance and a true knowledge of Gods amazing grace

what we do is very important no ones perfect but all have sinned and fallen short we should be able to still agree on what sin really is though

“And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:5-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

scriptire like this shouldn’t be unacceptable and it doesn’t exclude the rest pertaining to forgiveness John wrote these things to convince us completely against sin but then also he said this

“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:7-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

For a Christian not sinning is their attitude and understanding and when we do stumble and sin we still have the propitiation through repentance

to commit sin as a Christian is not the rule but the acception but we have to be careful not to exclude either part we can’t say “ God will forgive me so I shouldn’t pay attention to my deeds “ or “ I only believe I’m forgiven I don’t believe what the next chapter says about actually committing sin and the children of Satan

it’s there to make sin an evil enemy so when we have sinned we will truly repent and learn from it

A person needs more than forgiveness, they need cleansing and indwelling of The SPIRIT. Their view needs LIFE.

For GOD to Dwell in you -- CHRIST needs to be Ruling your life -- you and i both know that isn't happening if you are doing repeated sins.

Are you telling me JESUS told you it was ok to do them while He is Ruling? Or are you saying JESUS isn't King right now?

Do you want to be in His Kingdom or not?

Yes we should make it a point to not sin that goes without saying however there also is a line to not cross when it become more important to you than the love of God then that is when it becomes an obsession and has the oposite effect. you have seen it preached and debated on the matter of grace and living in it while also not using it as an excuse to sin this is because those who go by this theology understand how grace actually works and do not live by their fleshly lusts however when they do fall short as all do at some point they know they are forgiven and move forwards.

The same goes for not sinniing if I fall short which I will I know I am forgiven yes I try not to sin by I live in his love I keep my intimacy with him my priority that is the key my method for not sinning if my focus is on him my focus is not on the things of the flesh

Do you think you have Life if JESUS isn't Reigning over you? Do you think you have live if JESUS isn't in you?

1 John 5:12
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

9 If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son.

10 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son.

What you hear is a testimony of how I experienced for myself the kind of damage your teaching can do to people, you are the one who comes on here and accuses and condemns others that is what the enemy does I speak of love and of God's love you speak of sin and of peoples lacking and failing to meet your idea of what it takes to be saved if they fail to meet it then they are slaves to sin.

You have been banned once already and likely will be soon enough so let me make this perfectly clear for you, it is not for you nor anyone of your caliber to judge anyone on this forum you do not know them their hearts or where they stand with God your malicious and unchristlike remarks show where your heart stands and know that you will be held accountable for every word you speak one day you are an ignorant arrogant false teacher and have no right to look down upon or talk down to anyone on here especially considering you have only done what you preach for a year

The wicked need shown the games satan is playing on them. No Christian supports repeated sins -- so the wicked try to change the subject to something else, like some weird doctrine or whatever.

Been here 5 minutes, no introduction, just start a contentious thread, and post the SAME stuff as the guy who got banned yesterday. Check
Good to see that someone is keeping tabs on these kinds of threads. Christians do not focus on sin but on righteousness. So those who are habitually practicing sin may not even be saved.

Repentance means a total turning away from sins and idols (1 Thess 1:9), and that is essential for salvation. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord (Acts 3:19) This command was based on the fact that Jesus said that repentance was for the remission of sins (Luke 24:47), and that the command to repent was an integral part of the Gospel (Acts 2:38). Indeed God now commands all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). It is important to note that (a) John the Baptist, (b) Jesus of Nazareth, and (c) Simon Peter all began their ministries with the command to "Repent". Paul said that he never ceased to preach repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21).

Right, so someone Righteous in CHRIST is allowed to willfully sin. That makes sense. completely. totally.

Isn't Righteousness the opposite of sin? How can you not be focused on both equally? You would be Righteous because you are against sin. What is with these word games?

Do you think Repenting works if you didn't mean it? Like you willfully repeated sin?

yes the scriptire ckntinues where you left off and is also true

“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭2:3-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But to add to the ops point

“Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning.

For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:7-8, 10‬ ‭

We have to do more than saying sin has been defeated we have to actually stop serving it’s lusts and desires ( satans will ) and start walking in the faith of the gospel. ( Gods Will ) That’s the end game but getting there is a process and the result of the working of faith inside us as we believe the truth he will manifest those things in us

We know he’s willing to forgive our Mistakes and shortcomings but he also changes our behavior
I believe the whole of that scripture

I think you and I would not be fully agreed upon what "His commandments" are as opposed to the law of Moses and we would prolly have a lively discussion about what the righteousness of Christ [and ours in Him] consists of.

We are fully agreed on our need to put away sin. The question is how? I say it is by KNOWING that He has done it for us already.

Leonard Ravenhill was just about a stern a man as you could wish to encounter. Why Revival Tarries was his essential concern. In that meaning he was willing to call some brethren pigs to express his grief at the fleshiness of many believers. You may want to try someone a little more amenable to raise the same points about a loose attitude to sin. Leonard will likely have you stoned within the week. And I sense that your zeal is NOT well armoured. Best to dress in readiness if you are going to challenge other believers to answer whether Christ is in them. No discouragement intended by me here - just allow yourself time to absorb a mans ministry before you try to emulate him. If not you will surly be discouraged in open forum. God Bless.
"Why revival tarries" is one of the biggest rubbish books I ever read.

The luke-warm think they can sin as much as they want because they claim they have GOD'S Grace (Elected). They are not free from sin (Saved) if they are looking for Scripture to excuse their iniquity.

If you don't want GOD in your life -- that is what you are going to get. Good luck at Judgment.
Election is a good old bible word. Chosen ... are you one of God's chosen? I have been around for 45 years and I have found Calvinists on the whole to be committed to walking in holiness before God.
