Hi Piligrim,

Thank you for your question.

Paul and Barnabus - ( Acts 14: 14)
Andronicus and Junia - (Rom. 16: 7)
James, the Lord`s brother - (Gal. 1: 19)
Apollos - (1 Cor. 3: 5, 1 Cor. 4: 1 Waymouth translate it - Apsotle)
Silvanus & Timothy - (1 Thess. 1: 1, 2: 6)
Epaphroditus - your messenger/Apostle. (Phil. 2: 25)
Titus - does the work of an Apostle. (Titus 1: 5)
Thanks for taking the time to respond . yes I mentioned barnabus and that one reference in acts.

“Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭16:7‬ ‭

I don’t read this as saying they are apostles it says they are of note among the apostles. Peter and John and them regarded then highly and spoke well
Of them is what I see there and that They were in Christ before Paul was converted to the church.

this one isn’t something I can imagine is saying Apollo’s is an apostle

“Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

he was one of pauls Many partners in ministry along with Luke mark Priscilla and Aquila and barnabus. But I don’t think that says Apollo’s is an apostle.

Again this doesn’t either

“Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭

Again this doesn’t say anything about apostle it’s just an introduction to the epistle introducing who it’s from

“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:6

again this one doesn’t mention anyone remember Paul is an apostle when he says we here he’s speaking just as the other sometimes do about the apostles speaking of them as a group like this

“For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty.

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the apostles often spoke for the group of apostles like that so again just my own view I don’t think that labels any apostles either

“Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭2:25‬ ‭

ask yourself why one word “messenger “ appears here but in other parts of the New Testament the word apostle is used .

“And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure.”
‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

why doesnt it use the word apostle there ? “ sent one “ sent messenger”

There are Many messengers not the same as apostles

and this one ?

Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;

To Titus, mine own son after the common faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour. For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:”
‭‭Titus‬ ‭1:1, 4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Not seeing Titus being labeled An apostle there either

it seems like it’s debatable I honestly must be reading it differently

there are only twelve of these guys though

Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

apostleship
Has to be a calling and appointment of God I would t debate that barnabus is called an apostle by Luke and James is linked to the apostles notice James letter and how it differs from Paul’s or peters ?

James is the one who leaves off the title of apostle in his introduction

James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad, greeting.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬

this is all just my own view of what I see however and I’m not claiming to be right but I don’t see the many apostles in the Bible

“Sorry, it's a circus. Evil spirits and demons have no choice but to obey in the name of Jesus.”

thats actually Not true heres an example

“Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:13-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It matters whom the Christian is of they are genuine or just saying the words paul was a genuine disciple of Jesus so the evil spirit knew him too when Paul preached in Jesus name there was power in his word .

when those who tried commanding evil spirits in Jesus name who weren’t genuine disciples there was no power but to anger the evil spirit d cause it to attack them and it overcame them

if we are disciples of Christ his name is tied to us through baptism
You overlooked my statement referring to born again believers.

a lot of good responses I thank you all. The one thing I hear from some is how those like this are staging and things are scripted, ( I agree ) the woman in these videos states she wanted to be an actress. This was her reason for moving to CA. I know the videos are much the same open deliverances. But what about the format of these five "F" Churches?

  1. I find no statement of belief
  2. no names of leadership or founding other than this women
I listen to this video below named "how to have a relationship with God". what do you hear or not hear with that video? If you do not listen to it I will tell you. No repentance, you are ok if you mess up, no putting down of anything God loves you no matter what. No obedience is even mentioned.

OK, I will tell you.
Kathryn Krick holds to the belief that a saved Christian who has the Holy Spirit can be demon-possessed. What is wrong with that?

  1. I don't see that in the word of God or saying a Christian chat be possessed by a demon in the word of God
  2. as you noticed most who I saw in other video's appeared to be members of the church already wearing shirts, or logos of" Five F Church"
Just to confirm what you said with some Scripture, start with 1 Cor 6:19

"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own;"

Paul makes it very clear that not only are we the temple of the Holy Spirit, but that the Holy Spirit dwells within us. Can a demon possess the Holy Spirit? Of course not? How absurd! As Christians we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. We don't need to cast out demons, because God has already finished that, when we were justified!

"What harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I will dwell in them and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people” (2 Cor 6:15–16).

"There is no clear example in the Bible where a demon ever inhabited or invaded a true believer. Never in the New Testament epistles are believers warned about the possibility of being inhabited by demons. Neither do we see anyone rebuking, binding, or casting demons out of a true believer. The epistles never instruct believers to cast out demons, whether from a believer or unbeliever. Christ and the apostles were the only ones who cast out demons, and in every instance the demon-possessed people were unbelievers."
https://www.gty.org/library/questions/QA191/can-christians-be-demonpossessed

A Christian cannot be possessed! We belong to the kingdom of God, not the Kingdom of the enemy. His demons have no right to possess us!

"and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light. 13 For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins." Col 1:12-14

As for the matching shirts the church members are wearing, sounds like a cult to me!

I guess my answer won’t really surprise you now, since you probably figured out what my answer will be.

The answer to the question is…. Yes, born again Christian can become possessed with devil spirits. The only thing that cannot happen to a Christian is committing the unforgivable sin….That is only applicable to those not born again. No matter how far a Christian slides or how possessed a Christian becomes…the unforgivable sin is off the table….they cannot commit it.

Possession does not alter or affect the spirit of God we have within…. because possession is of the physical nature; be it any part of the body or mind….it’s all within the physical realm

The spirit of God is absolutely incorruptible it liveth and abideth forever….it’s unalterable and unremovable. You could no more remove or change the spirit of God, than you could remove the genetic seed of your earthly father within you ….and that genetic seed is in the physical realm.

When devil spirits (demons) possess they will take over all or part of a physical body..or mind.

BUT…Just like any natural person of body and soul… a Christian (body, soul and spirit) must open themselves up. However, Christians are less likely to open themselves up to possession because the majority live a different life.

Disclosure: (very surface level)

This field was my playground before God rescued me…that was a lifetime ago. When I say playground, I was a ranking priest for a coven outside Chicago for a few years….. Things went bad (actually good) … after meeting a girl who was a Christian. And it didn’t go well for me with the spirit friends I thought I controlled. But God who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us….literally pulled me out of the grips of death and kept me safe in his arms while I was transforming. Many things happened during that transformation that are still pretty raw…... I didn't realize it until I tried to get into depth with this, but I couldn’t.... I started reliving it and became an emotional blubber. But if you have any question maybe I can answer w/o becoming to emotional.
Interesting how there is not one quote from the Bible in your post. Not even a partial quote.

Instead, you have a bunch of your own ideas & experiences from before you were saved packed into your post. When I see posts like this, I feel the necessity to give you some important advice.

There is only one absolute rule we can refer to- that is the Bible, written by 66 different people, over a period of almost 1600 years. But really, written by the Holy Spirit, who moved people to be inspired and write down his truths. We can always rely on what the Bible says.

The problem comes when you do not personally read the Bible. Every day, every month, and every year! If you read 3 chapters of the OT and 1 of the NT you will have read the whole Bible, cover to cover in a year.

I was saved 42 years ago, but I often read from more than one Bible. I always read the Bible in English, my ❤️ Heart language! I also read it in a language I am studying, like French, German, Koine Greek or Biblical Hebrew. In total I have read the Bible 55 times. It never gets boring- it feeds me. Plus, when I go to comment on a thread like this, I don't have to rely on my feelings or thoughts, and I don't have to fabricate an explanation which conflicts with the Bible. That is what you have done.

So my challenge to you is read the Bible daily. Read 3 chapters in the OT and 1 in the NT and you will easily get through the Bible. There are hard parts, like the genealogies in 1 Chronicles. Ezekiel is a difficult book for me to understand. All the other prophets I understand, maybe I'll have to read a commentary this year when I read Ezekiel.

Don't read the Bible for me! Read it for yourself, and read it to know God better, and his plan as laid out in the Bible! And thank you for adding your beautiful testimony of the amazing transformation God has made in your life since he saved you. (Although I don't agree with you conclusions! But I cannot argue with a testimony of God's love and mercy like you have!!) God bless!

yeah that’s sort of my point in the. New testament nothing is done by casting lots but by Jesus word Peter had not refeived the Holy Ghost himself when they cast lots and chose Matthias he was never instructed to do that by Jesus

Christ doesn’t choose apostles by Old Testament means he appears to them in person like the eleven and the only other person in scripture after that to see him and receive the great commission as the other apostles is Paul

my point is that Matthias was the only one chosen by casting lots without the Holy Ghost me thing Jesus told them not to do until they received the spirit

there are only 12 apostles pointed by Jesus himself the eleven and Paul

again Matthias wasn’t chosen by Jesus but by peters impetuous decision to cast lots as in the Old Testament

it’s only my own view but the distinction of an apostle is what only 12 men received from Jesus Christ eleven before his resurrection me only 1 after his resurrection
I can see where you are coming from on that.

"25He must gently reprove those who oppose him, in the hope that God may grant them repentance leading to a knowledge of the truth. 26Then they will come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, who has taken them captive to his will." Demons can indeed inhabit the soul of Christians and also control the body. If you want to see demons in action, take a look at this:

I believe Copeland to be born again. I don't know about Howard Brown.

I recognise hypnosis when I see it. I had to be delivered from a demon of hypnosis. This whole Toronto Blessing thing is a deception from Satan and countless Christians have been duped.

I do not see anything in the word of God that teaches or shows a Born- again Christian Spirit-filled can be demon-possessed.

There are no examples of one after the resurrected Lord and His ascension. Nor were chritians saved until HIS resurrection.

Ananias having the influence of Satan in his heart did not mean he was possessed by the devil. Peter was told by Jesus that flesh and blood did not reveal to him who Jesus is when asked by the Lord.

Not too many verses in that same chapter, Jesus tells Satan to get behind me as he spoke to Peter. That rebuke was not a possession of the devil in Peter but of one of the flesh from Peter if satan had possessed Peter would not have Jesus said Come out of HIM as HE DID IN EVER situation where a person was demon-possessed?

That is completely false since the Holy Spirit indwells genuine Christians. Demons can influence and oppress, but that is not the same as "possess".

So....When the Lord has said by His Holy Spirit that he has given (after His ascension) some to be apostles ...etc there needs to be just that - Apostles .... & other Headship ministries for the equipping of the Body of Christ & edifying of them TILL we come to the unity of the faith.. And we certainly are not there yet. Thus the need for ministries FROM the Head, Christ to build and mature His Body. (Eph. 4: 11 - 16)

Let us not limit the Headship of Christ for His glorious work among us.

Hi Pilgrim,

“Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor yet of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.”
‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭2:6
