They keep telling us there is a shortage coming. I haven't seen it yet locally but somewhere along the line people are gonna realize the holidays are upon us and they are out of luck. I just sense that we are in for some hard times ahead in America, like hasn't been seen in years.

I've never considered myself a prepper but I went out and got all the dry goods for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals. I also got all the baking goods last night. Then hubby and I bought a freezer. I'm not panicked, I just the Lord telling us to prepare. I did the same for my parents. So is anyone else feeling the same way? We see the ships in the harbor and no movement. I think the holiday season is going to get bad quickly. I don't want to be out there fighting for TP with a mob of crazy people. But then, I always like to be prepared, I hate sitting and worrying and doing nothing. I figure if I prepare I can help someone else that needs it. Anyone else making plans or you don't think this is serious enough to prepare?

Since this is an Christian site others may also point this out but the liners are "burial vaults" a company named Vantage Products INC. makes the ones in the video. They are required in some cemeteries where the grave can cave in. Preachers,Deacons ect. or a funeral home can explain what they do with them because they preform funeral services often so will have seen one of these(there's different brands). The one in the video is round on top(the flat part is the bottom). The grave(hole) is often covered and also the dirt from the hole(respect of the family so it's covered so they don't see it). The "bottom" is the "flat piece"(in the video he call's it the lid) goes in the grave hole, then the coffin is placed on top of it and then the "tub portion" goes upside down(covering the coffin) so the round bottom is then "up"(it's the top), and then it's covered with soil.

I have always had a prepper mentality and usually have a stock pile of various items on hand. Food and water are one of those things that people take for granted and if there ever was a serious disruption in the supply chain many people might not survive.

Dystopian TV shows and movies give such an inaccurate representation of what things would really be like. You see people running around all day on very little food and water and seemingly able to survive off of a little vegetable garden.

Water is the biggest thing but we also need sufficent amounts of fat, cholesterol, protein, fruits, vegetables, and certain vitamins & minerals. A lot of which are hard to come by in the wild, and in the old days a lot of health problems were from the lack of certain vitamins & minerals so a lot of food we buy now have what we need most added to them.

Electricity is another thing and without it we can't refrigerate anything and perishable foods spoil. If you have a well for water your pump won't run so no water either. You may have a back up generator which is great as long as it's large enough to run your loads and you have fuel for it.

If anyone wants to be truly prepared it takes a lot of research, dedication and $$$. I'm kinda torn because I was prepping to protect my family but when my ex and her lack of wisdom decided to tear our family apart I lost almost everything and prepping has become less important to me.

I also want to put my faith in God to take care of me during hard times, but I'm not sure if he would also want me to prep. I do believe that there will be a time when us Christians that refuse to take the mark will be allowed to starve and or be beheaded. At this point in my life there is very little on this earth that I want to stick around for so a quick death would be preferable but, starving to death is not quick and I would like to avoid it.

my kids are patiently waiting for some attention, so I'll have to keep this brief (and try to remember to come back to it later)....

but I will say this:
I've noticed the creatures in our yard (birds, squirrels chipmunks, just to name a few) are busier gathering and storing right now than I have ever noticed them being in past years.

There is no shortage of goods (important to remember this), just a supply chain issue. I would not worry too much, but it's always good to have a several weeks' worth of supplies in the form of canned/dry goods, water, batteries, etc. The reality is, if the truckers do get fired, there will be a new batch of people being trained to be truckers/getting their licenses, etc. Remember when Reagan fired 11,000 air traffic controllers, there was only a short time of mayhem before those positions got filled.

Good point, besides I think this stuff is all "pre positioned" so once the asteroids and bombs hit, they'll be ready to immediately bring in the supplies. Besides at that point there will be a lot fewer people to feed. As long as you have a spot in one of these underground bunkers they have built you have nothing to worry about.

I took a short trek through our local Walmart yesterday. The shelves were full. I did notice that many of the brand name products have been replace with Walmart brand merchandise.

I have noticed a few Walmarts doing this more & more the past several years (going back a year or so BEFORE covid was even an issue).....

Walmart shoppers beware with this because SOMETIMES the walmart label is HIGHER than brand names in a regular grocery store.

This is all overblown, if these ships were really being prepositioned in expectation of a huge natural disaster you would expect to see this going on all over the world.

Uh oh, you can

Many supply chain interruptions will be over by the spring...I know that it's 6 months away but I have been expecting a lean Christmas season...

Figured that out last spring as everything was shaping up to become that way...the summer confirmed it.

My wife is whining about the various things we buy that "don't taste right" because secondary ingredients instead of the better ones are being used in things like mayonnaise and lil Debbie's snack cakes. Everyone is using substitutes in order to stay in business instead of just closing their doors.

And expect it to be that way for a while.

The food chain interruptions are just going to be for a while... people are cooking more than customary anyway.

I've always had a deep freezer...I've always bought whole meat cuts and broken them down because I'm not a fan of grocery store butcher shops anyway...I'd rather cut my own chickens or steaks or chops than let the butcher do it...always have....and made out like a bandit during the pandemic.... even going as far as curing out my own corned beef from whole briskets.

Currently I have a 50# bag of all Trumps flour in my kitchen because I like making bread and can make that bread you find in the deli just as easily as the deli workers can take it out of the freezer and price it.

I also keep semolina flour on hand and can make all sorts of pasta. Eggs are holding up too.

Milk supplies seem to be holding steady and plentiful even if the packaging has issues.

Sam's club is having issues...but Costco has their own unique transportation system so they aren't as affected by supply chain interruptions as other stores. But they always have higher prices.

Overstocking your groceries beyond a month or two is really pointless. But at that level is what I'm somewhat used to as I used to live in a somewhat rural area where trips to the store were not an every day possibility.

Soon enough I'll start assembling the Christmas cookies and candies inventory of items needed to make it all happen.

Costs have increased this year...friend list has shrunk.

But having a supply of toilet paper for the next year isn't exactly on my list of needed things to buy.

His tires are back ordered and will take 6 months to 2 years to get. So don't worry about the Trucks, as soon as they can replace their tires they'll be picking up their loads.

When Jen Psaki was asked about this crisis she said "This is why we need Pre K now!" So, good point Jen, 18 years from now these Pre K kids will be like an army of truck drivers, just hang on till then.

During Covid they weren't able to plant new rubber trees, and rubber trees take 7 years to produce rubber. So as Biden says "these are transitory issues".

Short answer, no.

But I will say if Christians want to store up goods in the event of a shortage, they should do so with the intention of helping others, not themselves.

When Agabus made his prophecy about the great famine in Acts 11, the saints took up a collection for the brothers and sisters in Judea. They didn't build fallout shelters and hunker down with their weapons.

I'm not sure if this is what your meaning but in the video you gave it is dated "March 31,2009"(12 years ago)
The video then was from 911TruthVideos. If you click the "show more" tab it states that the Gov. purchased some of these from the company for US veterans Administration for years prior to the video,(veterans get them free if needed).

The internet had reworked the story of the burial vaults for years prior to the video you gave, it seems every time there's an opportunity "the coffins" are reworked into it. First it was Y2K,then 911, then 2012/Mayan and so now even with Covid it seems. If you search for this on the www and look at the dates of the articles you'll find they go back to the mid 1990's (the vaults were removed about 2010) https://www.jacksonville.com/article/20140204/NEWS/801258710 Again look at the dates on the articles as you search(2009,2013,14 ect.) and you will see how many times the burial vaults have been reworked into different end time scenarios over the years https://www.covnews.com/rockdale-archives/company-debunks-fema-coffin-myth/

Pretty sure a person can do both. I'm all for helping those in need, but we have been warned of this shortage so people need to be making plans. Like I said, I'm not a prepper, but people may need to think how this shortage is going to change their grocery routine. Just not sure how bad this will get. This president thinks inflation is a good thing. smh

You mean we aren’t supposed to build silos to fill with grain and stockpile water to sell at super inflated prices?

Let’s say the bottom falls out of the market, money is worthless, and anarchy becomes commonplace. There will be division. It will be the strong and the weak. Even if you prepare it may be taken from you. How long do you think society will survive in major metropolitan areas? No sewage treatment, no water treatment, no electricity. There will be people helping people for a couple of weeks. Then when hope starts to wean, the morally void will band together and make gangs. They will prey on the weak feeding their debased natures, killing, stealing and raping. If you find it hard to fathom, look at what happened in New Orleans. Instead of helping the orphans trapped by flood waters, gangs went around raping them and controlling food supplies, dropping off. I believe the Lord has prepared an army to enact His justice if these times occur. The hands of God will be the fists of God and with clear conscience will kill evil doers mercilessly. God has called some to prepare for provision and others to prepare for protection.

It makes me wonder also if the goods in the ship containers are food or dry goods and how they determine if the food ships get inspected and unloaded first or not(perishables you would think right?)
