Our new relationship to the law.

According to scripture, we are not under the law (Romans 6:14) are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and have been delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation.

For we have been forgiven through the blood of Christ; and therefore when the Father looks down on us, He sees, not our sins, but the blood and righteousness of His Son Jesus Christ.

The law is written on our hearts and minds through the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5).

And again, we are not under the law (Romans 6:14), are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and are delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation;

while as concerning obedience we become obedient to the moral tenets of the law;

This is a righteousness apart from the law that is nevertheless attested to be the law and the prophets (Romans 3:21) that it is indeed righteousness.

Because, this righteousness is not obtained by attempting to obey a set of do's and don'ts.

Rather, we obtain the Holy Spirit through faith in Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:14, Ephesians 1:13-14); and as we walk according to the Spirit, the righteousness of the law is fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4, Galatians 5:22-23).

That being said, it is written that if anyone turns his ear away from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be an abomination (Proverbs 28:9).

It is indeed faithful and true that those who are of the law are under a curse (Galatians 3:10, James 2:10, Matthew 5:48). However, this is as concerning those who are attempting to be justified by the law (Galatians 5:1-4).

For those who know that they are justified by the blood of Jesus Christ and not by their obedience / works / law-keeping, it becomes a blessing to look into the perfect law of liberty and to walk according to it (James 1:22-25).

The Holy Ghost utilizes the law to do the work of conviction in our hearts (Romans 3:20).

The law and grace have always been about love and they are gifts from God to enable us to find and take ahold of Him. It was never about seeking our own that we measure up, (self-righteousness) but that we would trust in God and follow Him. That we could come to know His love in the abundance only He can give, and confirm in us His freely and liberally given abundant love. A love written on our hearts becoming the shining light with in us.

He would have us to stand stedfast and unmoved in His love. Thereby as ensamples being helpers of "their" joy in the downtrodden, the weak, the powerless, that they may stand strengthening their own faith through our witness of "His" love which truly is exceeding abundantly beyond anything of ourselves. God is love !

Through the law the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin for the lawless, the unrighteous of whom we once were! As true believers, He is our Comforter, Our Shield and Buckler standing fast and remaining eternally in Him. Thank you Jesus \0/

I wouldn't say that law calls us sinners but the purpose is to show us that we are sinners.

For me the law that we are under is the royal law.

Yes. As James tells us in James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. 22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

James 1:25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

The law does many, many things for us, if you read of only one or two things about the law it is simple to misunderstand something so very important as the guidance the Lord gives us for living for Him. Then, by misunderstanding Paul and not reading all Paul says about law, then Paul becomes a path to blindness and death instead of the wonderful guide God gave us.

I believe that Moses' law, which will not have one jot or tittle removed from it until after heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:17-20), is a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24) in that it shows us that we are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20), thus converting our souls to Christ (Psalms 19:7).

And, according to James 1:25, it is clear to me that we can view the OT law as a set of wisdom principles; and no longer as a condemning taskmaster; if indeed we know that we have been justified through faith in Christ's blood and not by our obedience to the law.

Moses didn’t teach the gospel that’s our law that is written on our hearts not moses law that’s written on stone and imparts death by sin because it’s meant for unspiritual sinful people. Who never were offered salvation but only death for thier sins through e ordination of angels and mediation of Moses book

do you ever wonder why Jesus taught contrary to things from Moses ? Why he tells them “ you heard long ago this thing , but I Jesus am telling you This other thing? “

I believe that Moses' law, which will not have one jot or tittle removed from it until after heaven and earth pass away (Matthew 5:17-20), is a schoolmaster to lead us to Christ (Galatians 3:24) in that it shows us that we are sinners in need of a Saviour (Romans 3:20), thus converting our souls to Christ (Psalms 19:7).

And, according to James 1:25, it is clear to me that we can view the OT law as a set of wisdom principles; and no longer as a condemning taskmaster; if indeed we know that we have been justified through faith in Christ's blood and not by our obedience to the law.

Clearly, "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not commit adultery" are included in the law of liberty (James 2:10-12).

This would indicate that the law of liberty is the ten commandments;

Which have been referred to as "the ten promises" (see Psalms 119:66)

Maybe I am reading what you are saying incorrectly.

I wouldn't say that law calls us sinners but the purpose is to show us that we are sinners.

And as result just like the tax collector

Luke 18:13-14
13 And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not so much as raise his eyes to heaven, but beat his breast, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me a sinner!’ 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.”

For me the law that we are under is the royal law.

James 2:8
8 If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
