The Jesuit pope that leads the Catholic Church is urging leaders of the world to agree with his concordat. In this agreement the Sunday Sabbath is being instigated as well as climate change. Why is a religious leader of a church telling world leaders how to keep the wrong sabbath? What is his credentials on planetary climate change? Is he now a scientist?

The pope and Adolf Hitler had a concordat, so this looks like an very strong attempt to regain political control at the global scale. Last time the Catholic Church had political and religious control many Christians and Jews died. Many! Pilgrims had to leave Europe and live in a new land called, America.

There is this prophecy by St. Malachi about the Catholic popes, not sure if it's true, but according to the prophecy this current pope is the last.

"Peter the Roman, who will pasture his sheep in many tribulations, and when these things are finished, the city of seven hills [i.e. Rome] will be destroyed, and the dreadful judge will judge his people. The End.[17] "

Also, Joe Biden is a Catholic, as well 6 out the 9 Supreme Court Justices in the U.S. are Catholic.

Here's where my frustration comes in when people identify Biden as a catholic.........
1) It gives the illusion that the catholic faith believes the way that Biden does on many issues such as abortion.
2) It causes many people to turn on our saved brothers and sisters who identify as catholic. (yes there are saved catholics)
3) It takes away from the very imperative truth that Biden is a wolf in sheeps clothing

Its time to call things such as they are Biden is a wolf trying to hide under the label of catholic.
We should all stop referring to these people who hide behind the bible while doing evil as those who belong to a christian title.
Even muslims are allowed to lie and claim they are christian to convert a real christian if possible. So with that being said we should really call them as they are....... Evil

I wasn't aiming at the average Catholic believer, rather the leadership of the Catholics Church. We are all sinners. Historically the Catholic leadership has been pretty brutal.

Heard of Queen Mary?
Read The Foxe's Book of Martyrs?
Spanish Inquistion?
Priests and choir boys?
Many of the early Protestant leaders accused the title of the pope as the anti-christ.
What about lions feeding on Christians in the Colosseum.
Recommend learning about the Jesuits.
What about Martin Luther's struggle with the Catholic Church?

Being Protestant means protesting the Catholic Church, it's teachings, and it's leadership. I feel many have sacrificed for this privilege, so don't deprive me of it. Some believe the Catholic Church will once again be in a position of political power, so the time maybe now to speak your peace, before your once again tortured or killed for owning a Bible.

Can you rephrase this?

I think persecution of the saints is coming soon in a global fashion, since the Catholic Church has a Jesuit as a leader. We need to start preparing. This is just my opinion, not saying I know for sure.

Here is a video to learn more about Catholic history and the Jesuit order. :( Not trying to preach Catholicism, but to bring awareness.

First of all the mere title "Catholic" is incorrect because it means universal which the Roman is not. A huge amount of it's doctrines and traditions are pure heresy and or confabulation There are an uncountable number of people under it's influence. They are more innocent than guilty of heresy and blasphemy. None are innocent without being washed in the blood of the lamb.

When I reached the age of confirmation I was given the oral test questions & answers. One that I particularily recall was about believing in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I didn't know or understand the question and when I asked what it meant I was told it didn't matter. I didn't need to understand or believe. Just say yes like everybody else.

Popes and Kings desiring more power and control have latched onto the obeying rulers part of the epistles but let go of do what is right. Anabaptists were hunted down & killed. Martin Luther and Mennon Simmons had prices on their heads. Puritans and pilgrims were deported because we put the Bible 1st above leaders.

All humans are corruptable, add power, influence, greed, lust & pride. We've only had the bible in print a little over 500 years without a lie in it. The church establishment is not who we serve and we should put every preacher, sermon and doctrine to the test of the Word of God.

Huh? Would you please phrase that in 20th / 21st century American English?
It's possible that rayzor may not be totally fluent in Western English, his profile says, he is from Afghanistan. Just stating this to help explain the language barrier that seems to be happening.

"Hitler shaking hands with Catholic dignitaries in Germany in the 1930s "

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_views_of_Adolf_Hitler

While we're at it let us not forget about 'Hitler's Theologian' Martin Luther, one of Hitler's favorite supporters:

Luther and the Holocaust

Nothing is uglier and more disturbing in Martin Luther's writings than his late-in-life, hate-filled polemics against the Jews. In his infamous 60,000-word 1543 booklet, "On the Jews and Their Lies," he urged secular rulers to burn all synagogues and Jewish schools, to raze all Jewish homes and properties, to confiscate Jewish religious writings, to prohibit teaching by Jewish rabbis, to give Jews no safe conduct on the highways, to stop them from money trading, to send their young men into forced labor, and to expel those who refused to be baptized. Two other anti-Jewish writings from the same year, "On the Schem Hamphoras and on the Lineage of Christ" and "On the Last Words of David," also contain extreme language that is consistent with late-medieval anti-Judaic polemics and that seems to have been motivated by rumors about German Jews blaspheming Christ and of Jewish attempts to convert Christians. (For a brief overview of Luther's writings on the Jews, see esp. Gregory Miller, "Luther's Views of the Jews and Turks," in The Oxford Handbook of Martin Luther's Theology, ed. Robert Kolb, Irene Dingel, and L'Ubomir Batka [Oxford, 2014], 427-34).

As Martin Marty rightly notes, it doesn't really help to stress that Luther's verbal attacks here seem to have been motivated largely, if not exclusively, by theological concerns, not primarily racial ones: he hoped that the Jews in the "latter days," which he thought was "now," would read their Bible the way he did, Christologically, as pointing to Jesus of Nazareth as the promised Christ, and he got bitterly angry when "the rabbis" saw things differently. So "he struck out at them as enemies of the gospel" [Martin Marty, Martin Luther (Viking, 2004), 169].)

Today, living in the shadow of Auschwitz and remembering the murders of the six million Jews at the hands of Nazi perpetrators--many of them German Lutherans who appealed to the Great German Reformer to justify their attitude and actions--Luther's role in "the teaching of contempt" and his actual wrathful words can only be condemned. That his writings are a part of the pre-history of the Holocaust cannot be ignored. Even when some might point to mitigating factors (e.g., "expelling unbaptized Jews is not quite as bad as trying to annihilate them") or stress how here he shows just how much he was a man of his time (e.g., Erasmus and John Eck were other prominent Jew-haters of that era), we cannot exculpate him or explain away his vitriol and vulgarity. (It is shocking to see garbled passages from "On the Jews and Their Lies" being posted on the internet today by neo-Nazis.) Most Lutheran churches (cf. "The Declaration of the ELCA to the Jewish Community") and the Lutheran World Federation have rightly, publicly condemned Luther's antisemitism and all forms of hatred toward the Jews.

As many scholars have noted, Luther should have known better. "That Jesus Christ Was Born a Jew," which, largely free of the hostility he expressed later on, taught that Christians should not mistreat Jews but be guided by "the law of Christian love" in their actions toward them (LW 45.229). Christians and Jews, he insisted against the anti-Judaism of the Roman Church, shared a common ancestry. Unlike his medieval forebears, Luther frequently taught that "we and our great sins and gross misdeeds nailed Jesus, God's true Son, to the cross" (WA 35.576), and thus "you, poor Judas, we dare not blame, nor the band of Jews; ours is the shame" (ibid.; trans. by Denis Janz, The Westminster Handbook to Martin Luther [WJK, 2010], 78 [slightly rev.]). Moreover, Luther could have viewed Jews from the center of his theology, namely, justification by grace alone through faith alone in the universal atoning work of Christ. The principal scholarly biographer of Luther, Martin Brecht, thus concluded that "in advising the use of force, [Luther] advocated means that were essentially incompatible with his faith in Christ" (Martin Brecht, Martin Luther, 3 vols. [Fortress, 1990-93], 3.350-51). Still, we can only contemplate with the Marburg Lutheran theologian, Hans-Martin Barth, about why there is no connection between faith and love in Luther's anti-Jewish writings, when elsewhere he so strongly stresses that connection. Why could Luther never see "the Jew" as his neighbor?
Since I am myself a Lutheran Christian and teach at a Lutheran university, I tend to focus on Lutheran theologians in my course on "Christians in Nazi Germany" (e.g., Althaus, Asmussen, Bonhoeffer, Bultmann, Elert, Hirsch, Niemoeller, Schlink, Tillich). In that course we also examine Luther's anti-Judaic writings and their reception among Germans between the sixteenth century and the early twentieth. One of the questions we address is, "To what extent does Luther bear responsibility for the Shoah, the mass-murder of European Jews during the Nazi regime?" We look at the evidence and arguments put forth by those who blame Luther most of all for what happened to the Jews during the reign of Hitler. For example, we note that Luther's portrait appears prominently in many Holocaust museums, along with descriptions of his anti-Judaic writings. We also look at assertions by the American journalist, William Shirer (The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich), the German writer, Thomas Mann, the Anglican priest, R. W. Inge, and his friend, Peter Wiener (Martin Luther: Hitler's Spiritual Ancestor [Hutchinson, 1945]), as well as the following statement by Harvard emeritus professor of law, Alan Dershowitz:

Toward the end of his life--and at the height of his influence--Luther articulated a specific program against the Jews which served as bible of anti-Jewish actions over the next four centuries, culminating in the Holocaust. In many ways, Luther can be viewed as the spiritual predecessor of Adolf Hitler. Indeed, virtually all the themes that eventually found their way into Hitler's genocidal writings, rantings, and actions are adumbrated in Martin Luther's infamous essay "Concerning the Jews and Their Lies." ...It is shocking that Luther's ignoble name is still honored rather than forever cursed by mainstream Protestant churches. (Alan Dershowitz, Chutzpah [Little, Brown, and Company, 1991], 106-7).
T
Was Luther's hostility toward the Jews an absolutely necessary cause of the Shoah? This question must be taken quite seriously. If I understand the clarification offered by Poupko and Sandmel correctly, it appears that they think the Holocaust could not have happened were it not for the publication of Luther's anti-Judaic writings, that without Luther's hatred of the Jews the Shoah could not have occurred. That judgment, it seems to me, is questionable, at least if one closely examines the history of the effects of Luther's writings on subsequent generations of Germans, the long and sordid history of racial antisemitism in Europe (both before and after Luther's time), and the differing motivations between Luther's theologically oriented writings (which do, in fact, contain antisemitic statements that are in conflict with the center of his theology) and the Nazis' racially-oriented acts of scapegoating and murder.

It seems to be very convenient that you missed Luther's transgressions and impact against the Jews during WWII and the Nazi era. Did you forget about Luther's hatred of the Jews purposely?

Did you expect the RCC to admit that Sunday sabbath is heresy and apologize for 1700 years of lies?

On March 7, 321, however, Roman Emperor Constantine I issued a civil decree making Sunday a day of rest from labor, stating: All judges and city people and the craftsmen shall rest upon the venerable day of the sun. Wikipedia.

I would have bet that Hitler would have turned on the RCC when he ran out of Jews, Gypsies, Muslims and Slavs to kill.

Kinda, as I said previously how you failed to mention Luther's hatred of the Jews and how he was instrumental in Hitler's Holocaust, how come you failed to mention that the Protestant Churches fell almost fully in lockstep with Hitler's plans against the Jews? How could you miss this? Seems you conveniently omit or don't remember what is inconvenient to your viewpoint.

The Protestant German Christian movement made significant changes to German Protestantism to bring it in line with Nazi racial ideology. Instead of classifying people as Christians or Jews based on their faith, as the Protestants had always done, German Christians began to classify people by racial heritage, as the Nazis did. Therefore, church leaders whose parents or grandparents had converted from Judaism to Christianity were considered Jewish and, according to the 1933 civil service law, no longer officially permitted to serve in those positions. Although the state never enforced this law in the churches, some German Christians forced out non-Aryan clergy to show their commitment to the regime. By January of 1934, Müller was vowing to purge Protestant churches of all “Jewish influence,” including removing the Old Testament from their bible because it is based on the Hebrew bible. A public appeal released by German Christian leaders claimed that “the eternal God created for our nation a law that is peculiar to its own kind. It took shape in the Leader Adolf Hitler, and in the National Socialist state created by him. This law
speaks to us from the history of our people. . . . It is loyalty to this law which demands of us the battle for honor and freedom . . . One Nation! One God! One Reich! One Church!"

Often Kings, dictators and other power mad individuals have used state controled relegions to herd the people in what ever way deemed approiate. The Anglicans were just as guilty but for a much shorter time due to Gutenberg's printing press. The invention of the printing press was quite overwhelmingly the end of the dark ages. (IMO)

So, Kinda, explanation please about Luther's antisemetic teachings that were latched on to by the Nazis and the Protestant support of Hitler fail to reach your 'finger of blame' for the Holocaust? What is your agenda?
Q? What did General Patton say when asked "What would you do if you were caught betweeen the Comunists and the Nazis?

A! "Shoot in both directions." I doubt if any mainstream religion or or pseudo Christian nation has a history without atrocities!

Honestly was ignorant on Luther's hate, don't really have any comments on something I don't know much about. I'm not Lutheran, if that means anything. Pretty sure Hitler was raised Catholic and started training to be a priest.

This thread wasn't really intended to fight fault in all people, but rather bring awareness about Catholic political powers that be. If you want to find fault in all people, and all religions, that might make a thread that you could start.
