Why do Christians believe in a place of torment called Hell?

Usage: reverence for God, fear of God, godliness, piety.
Proverbs1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
No need to make anything up since I have the Word of God on my side, the Sword of the Spirit. The same sword Jesus used to beat back Satan with when He was tempted in the desert for 40 days.
Your doctrine stands in clear contradiction of the Bible:
John 3:36
36He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

The first encounter with a lie.
The serpent of old the Devil told Eve. You shall not surly die.
When they ate of the tree they did not die at that moment, but they did start ding. Much like sin it starts slow. People lived for 100s of years and over time lived shorter and shorter lives.
This time and age has a lie also. One where people in hell burn without end. In other words you will not surly die they say you just keep burning.
At some point God will do away with sin and Satan and those who follow him. No more burning on an on just gone ashes! Then God will create a new havens and earth.

I do not ignore the Scriptures. I could unpack the verse for you. tell you what the phrase "forever and ever" meaning age or until the end of the age. Which I did might I add, just did it in a way that was more friendly.

It simply means Satan and demons can masquerade as Angels of God.
Psalm 104:4
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire: This is a parallelism in Hebrew. It indicates that angels are spirits, ministers, and flaming fire or at least the appearance there of.
Hebrews 13:2
Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
No it's not literally. You're twisting Scripture. It is the same Greek word for EVERLASTING life. Are you really saying everlasting life isn't everlasting?
That is the meaning of the Hebrew word, language. I even posted some texts from different translation where in the KjV it uses fear of God and more uptodate modern ones have respect of God.
Also, the english word fear has respect as part of the definition. The Bible was written in a culture and language I am guessing you do not know how to read.
