Here is my favorite! Not really but I am sure there will be some on here that are.
Don't they normally put expansion joints in when they build the form? Then, they wouldn't have to make those cuts...you must cut concrete of it will crack where you don't want it to crack
I took a long nap yesterday afternoon - and then stayed up all night...Just as I am winding down for the night everybody else is winding up

(Yeah - it happens. Rare - but, it happens.)
Now I have to "keep going all day" - without sleeping - until tonight, when I will no-doubt sleep really well...
I wish for you a very good sleep and a wonderful day tomorrow - with no drama, of course!
Actually it requires some kind of steel.... like rebar or hog wire fencing to take the stress of expansion and contraction of hot and cold weather off the concrete. Expansion joints are for huge huge slabs of concrete and where it will connect two structurally separate pieces subject to different temperatures. IE ground vs collum.Don't they normally put expansion joints in when they build the form? Then, they wouldn't have to make those cuts...
HaHa - yeah - whatever it takes...Thankyou
Why can't you just sleep now? I hate that feeling of having little to no sleep.
Gary, this may be you
Yes - I have seen both used (one and/or the other) - along with expansion joints every-so-many (usually a few) sections. At the other section barriers, a partial thin shallow slot - not a cut, more like a score line - formed at some point while the concrete is drying. Something like that - best I remember.Actually it requires some kind of steel.... like rebar or hog wire fencing to take the stress of expansion and contraction of hot and cold weather off the concrete. Yeah - some of those saws work really quite well - and cut clean like a hot knife through butter...Used to do that, this was a continues pour, no steel or wire mesh. Husqvarna gas powered saw, went pretty quick.
Any James brown fans?
I like the mood. But some lyrics ruin the songI'm afraid i'm not a huge fan of funk - Soul although I do like some song from the original guys like brown, Cooke and of course ottis.

With tools that can make quick cuts - maybe it has been decided that that is the way to go...Used to do that, this was a continues pour, no steel or wire mesh. Husqvarna gas powered saw, went pretty quick.
Yeah...those are for drainage and mitigating surface, shallow cracks that tend to destroy the finish of the concrete with chips coming out. Not exactly a true "expansion joint."Yes - I have seen both used (one and/or the other) - along with expansion joints every-so-many (usually a few) sections. I love geico commercials!
