All of my life I have attended Baptist chuches. The pastors/preachers often inject a little 'humor' into a sermon. I am not against that.
I wrote post #29 simply because:
The one thing I have never seen - not even once - is a pastor/preacher ask everyone to stand for the reading of God's Word - and not be solemn about it until the reading was done and having asked everyone to sit back down.
According to the bible Gluttony Is a sin.A person can overeat one time and Maybe gain a pound or two but In order to get overweight a person has to overeat habitually.If a person keeps overeating Is that a person that's not saved?
No, the truth of Conditional Salvation makes no provision for any such license - you either surrender to God's will and receive both pardon for sin and power to obey, or you go to hell. There's no third option allowing the Christian to sin as in the case of OSAS License to Sin Christianity.
The Golden Gate had revolutionary safety nets to save life: God has the Ten Commandment "guardrail" to save us, as well. Too bad everyone thinks "liberty in Jesus" means they can jump over the guardrail to their death.
You tell me...could it be that food is that man's god? If so, he will go to hell. God is the judge, but if the fruit of the Spirit is "self control", I ask you, where is the self control to push one's self away from the table?
James tells you that if you refrain from adultery, but kill people, you are going to hell. These are part of the Ten Commandments.
Please don't dwell on the saccharine sentimentalism of "love love love" because "love" is demonstrated in our ACTIONS. A man may say he loves his wife, but if he cheats on her habitually, does he?
A Christian may say they love love love Jesus, but if they kill people, they are going to hell. Why do you not want to be judged by the Ten Commandments? Are you living contrary to them?

You missed the point . The nets were put there to make the workers safe and secure . Productivity increased because of the security and assurance. It wasn't put there to keep the workers in line or to warn them ,that if they fell the net would drop out from them . No it was to prevent perishing from a fall . Conditional salvation today is ' fleshy ' . Its a fleshy reaction to grace and forgiveness. It says " no Lord , IVE got this, I'll do it , I can prove myself" Its a GIFT , you can't offer back a penny .
Its worth noting that Paul says nothing about a “LAW” of liberty; he says “the law of the SPIRIT” (Rom. 8:2).
“The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus” (vs. 2). That is one of those automatic spiritual laws that takes place when a person receives Christ as Saviour. It has three operative parts: 1) the new birth, 2) the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and 3) spiritual circumcision. First, the Holy Spirit enters the body of the new believer and resurrects the dead spirit. He brings new life to a new man. Then He places that new believer spiritually into Jesus Christ. The new believer is now one with his Saviour. He is one with his Saviour’s death, and he is one with his Saviour’s resurrection. Finally, the Holy Spirit cuts the new, live spirit away from the flesh, the body of sin. What does all of that do? It makes you “free from the law of sin and death.” You are no longer “dead in trespasses and sins” (Eph. 2:1); you are alive in Jesus Christ. Being in Jesus Christ, you died to your sin and are raised to “walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:4). Being separated from your flesh, sin cannot change your standing in Christ. Spiritually, you are free. That is the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Now, that is your spiritual status. You are free on the inside. But “the law of sin and death” goes right on operating in the flesh (Rom. 7:23). It doesn’t stop at salvation (Rom. 7:25). Nevertheless you are free from the spiritual consequences of sin and the penalty of the Law of God. When Christ justified you, the penalty for breaking God’s Law was paid in full.
There are Many Christians who overeat habitually and you say that If a person sins habitually they are not saved so I disagree with you on that point.
Sidenote:GOD SO loved the world that he gave HIS only begotten SON that whosoever BELIEVES In HIM should not perish but have Everlasting Life.

Who told you there was an increase in productivity? As one who has been in the Telecommunications industry for almost 25 years, OSHA "safety/accident mitigation" measures have resulted in work taking twice as long to do now that in the past.Now, before you think I've just proved your argument by saying more human regulations equals less production, let's talk about your OSAS License to Sin "safety net" that you claim increases productivity:
What does Paul say about who is better equipped to run in the Race of Life?
Hebrews 12:1 KJV:
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset [us], and let us run with patience the race that is set before us..."
Alright, if you agree with Jesus that we can't do anything apart from Him, what about Isaiah 59:2?
"But your iniquity has SEPARATED you from your God, and your sins have HIDDEN HIS FACE from you, that He will not hear."
Will you continue to insist OSAS Licensed "Christians" who refuse to repent of sin experience increased lap times in the Race of Life and increased production in life's factories where the Utility has pulled the power meters?

That is false. Peter says the latter end of us is worse than the beginning if we slide back into the filth from which we escaped - an escape made possible via the "new birth" and "law of the Spirit of life in Jesus".
Oh, so Paul is advocating duality of service? That we may in the Spirit gaze toward heaven, smiling and dwelling on sexual purity while simultaneously ejaculating in our neighbor's wife? That's exactly how you're interpreting Romans 7:25!
No, friend, Romans 7:25 KJV is saying the spiritually quickened mind of the Christian is always going to battle against the flesh as long as we're in this mortal body, but this same Paul also says that until you've mingled your sweat with blood fighting against temptation, he doesn't wanna a single word from whiny OSAS Licensees about how "we can't keep the law" (Hebrews 12:1-3 KJV).
Jesus says we must "endure to the end" to be saved, but many Christians will allow their agape to grow cold and dead, fail to endure to the end, and be lost (Matthew 24:12-13 KJV) and no OSAS License to Sin will help them.
Hey, man, disagree all you want, but the Bible says many people make "the belly" their god. I have disagreements too. Like with those who want to make sin acceptable in the sight of God and baptize that which was once wrong in the church.
Every hear of the old adage, "As the world goes, so goes the church"?
It means that as the world continues it's slide further into degradation, the church is never far behind. Amazing Facts speaker Doug Batchelor recounted how when he was a kid, a fellow public school classmate got sent home for wearing a dress considered too short then which was longer than dresses commonly worn in CHRISTIAN schools today.
I guess that which was once wrong can be made right if everyone decides to start doing it, right? Is that how Christianity works? We can trump the Word of God through Christian Consensus?

The Bible makes it quite plain: all have sinned, there is no one good, our righteousness is like a filthy rag.
Strive as you may against your inevitable fallen state, change your mind, change your ways, but only the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ's shed blood justifies anyone.
What do you mean "my so-called" repentance? I speak of the BIBLICAL CONCEPT of repentance, without which no man will go to heaven. "Men and brethren, what shall we do?" Peter replies, "Repent and be baptized and ye shall recieve the Holy Ghost."
Why do you guys always confuse "Christian Origination" with "Christian Obligation"? These are two difffent things.
Salvation is accepted by grace through faith - but faith in what? That God will save me if I keep in sinning? That is what you OSAS guys want it to be, sure, but that's not the case. It's faith God will save us FROM our sin, not IN our sin, according to what the angel told Joseph.
GOD IS perfect and whether a sin Is big or small In the eyes of man they are both unacceptable to GOD.
IMO you are saying that some sins are acceptable and some sins are not but we are not under law meaning be perfect In your own strength but we are under Grace and everyone will sin maybe habitually In some Instances but If GOD has forgiven them they WILL be In the process of renewing their mind.
