It appears to me that is the general assumption, yes, however, Jesus directed his disciples to 'go prepare the passover' (in the context of the evening?) which is traditionally done, before the actual sabbath as there is to be no preparation during, and so that 'day' was the same day (when he was crucified) that preparation was permissible...but had to be taken down..before the sabbath...
If you find it conclusive on the matter, please let me know 
This is a bit difficult to follow since it is unclear whether the observance of aviv 15 beginning at 14 is correctly indicated...I would move it.up a day, otherwise, there appears to be and 'night that is indicated as a day'?
Possible timeline of crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord.
It does get confusing with different timelines being given in the various gospels, i.e., some with day starting at evening, and things like "the sixth hour" meaning different things, depending on whether it was Roman time or Jewish time being referenced. As to whether or not it was the Passover meal?
Matthew 26:18 He answered, “Go into the city to a certain man and tell him that the
Teacher says, ‘My time is near. I will keep the Passover with My disciples at your house.’ ”
Mark 14:12 On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, when the Passover lamb was to be
sacrificed, Jesus’ disciples asked Him, “Where do You want us to prepare for You to eat the Passover?”
Luke 22:15 And He said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before My suffering."
One page I looked at gave this timeline:
(1) After sunset, at the beginning of the 14 Nisan, the day of the Passover, Jesus sent
His disciples to prepare the Passover for them (Matthew 26:17-19, Luke 22:7-8).
(2) About 9 p.m. they sat down to feet washing and the Passover supper,
followed by the "Lord's supper" and singing (Matthew 26:30, Mark 14:26).
(3) About midnight the went out to the mount of Olives (Mark 14:26; Luke 22:39).
(4) There Jesus prayed until his arrest, about 2.a.m.
(5) After 6 a.m. He was sent to Pilate (Mark 15:1).
(6) At about 8 a.m., after six hours of trial, he was turned over to be crucified (Mark 15:15, John 19:14, 19:16).
(7) He was crucified at about 9.a.m., which is the third hour of the day in Jewish time (Mark 15:25).

The first day of the feast of unleavened bread was the day they had the last supper. He was arrested that night

God did not make any mistakes. Everything he does is for his glory. He is patient for it, and he deserves every bit of it and more. He's super duper awesome!

Concerning the issue on number of Passovers which could have been, and what Day Jesus may have risen.
Lets look at the passages we have been discussing.
Matt 28 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.
Mark 16: 16 Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him. 2 Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb when the sun had risen.
Luke 24: 1 Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, [a]and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.
Only the Luke account can the word translated week (sabbaton - gk) Not be known in context if it is early on Saturday (sabbath day) or early on first of the week (Week of 7 days). The other two accounts clearly state. that the sabbath had been completed first (sabbath day) and it was then on the morning of the 1st of the sabbath (week of 7 days) that they came which could only be trnaslated as Sunday morning (in Mark, the sun had risen)
lets continue, we have two possibilities
1. If the "special sabbath" was on Thursday and he was crucified then, They would have went Sunday morning (after Passover)
2. If He died on Friday, as is generally accepted, Then They still went on Sunday morning. (after Passover)
The way the passage is written, There is no allowance for this to be Saturday morning. Plus we have a days of buried issue (As Jonah was

the issue is the 12 hours.
the Sabbatarians say that the women went to the Tomb as the Sabbath ended and the sun was going down, and Christ had risen and gone, so therefore He rose on the Sabbath.
the rest of us say that He rose overnight sat, night and was gone when the women went to Tomb on sun. morning.
that is to me, the central issue.

This is what many of those who say Jesus rose on the sabbath and never want to bring up because it really blows that out of the water.
1. they were jews and they did not go out during Passover
2. women for sure did not go out during Passover unless they were immoral women. BUT as soon as the Passover was done these women were on their way to the tomb. The men (disciples) were hiding and because it was the Passover they were not looked for because most jews were not out running around. I will just leave that right dar,

This goes with WHY they removed him from the cross to bury before Passover. Because they could not do anything during Passover. He would have to be left there for the day.
The question of was he killed on Thursday or Friday (wed is not possible and thursday allows for three days and three nights) I can see maybe an issue. But what day he rose. I see no argument for any day other than Sunday.
The bible does say that. it says the Sabbath had passed. when they got to the tomb the rock had rolled away and Don't forget the Roman Guards

1 Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn,(dawn had started which is still dawn) Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. 2 And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door,and sat on it. 3 His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. 4 And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.
5 But the angel answered and said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. 6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7 And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you.”
8 So they went out quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy, and ran to bring His disciples word.
do you realize how long it took those to walk to the location of the tomb? and if Dawn had already started by the time they got there it was Dawn On the first day of the week.
You can't read the Bible and separate the truth that dawn had started and the women were right at the tomb? No. Matthew is writing this event after it happened and did not fully capture every little thing why? Because what is important is that Jesus is a LIVE!!
if Jesus died on the 5th day of the week and three days later it would be on the 6th day of the week if you count the 5th day and not 24 hours.
Yet Jews considered any part of the day that day. Jesus died on Thursday that was one day he was dead.
