Hey guys, I think the person who rung up my parents forgot (or like failed to notice the item or something) to scan an item or something worth about a dollar. They seem to have decided to keep it. I just wanna be sure I do the right thing. Anything I should do about it or in the end it doesn’t really matter?

Depends what it is. If it's something non-perishable they'll probably accept it back. If package is already opened or it's some kind of unpackaged fruit, vegetable, or meat they might not want it. Just call and ask.

if its your parents they are responsible for their purchases not you.

If its your own just be concerned about your own. Check your receipts if you arent sure. Sometimes the scanning things dont always work, but its on you to check your own, not someone elses.
If it was me I would go back and pay for the item that got missed.

the cashier also has their own responsibility to scan things correctly. Dont be a busybody.

Sorry if I came off as a busybody; stuff like this would probably bother me for a good while if I didn’t try taking care of it and trying to ask the right people yknow?

I’m pretty sure it’s nail supplies related (think of stuff for a nail salon) so I don’t believe it’s like some meat or something haha

its fine I think you might make a good security personnel or policeman actually.

some children are like this at school it seems as if they are always pointing out what other classmates do wrong but actually in doing so fail to look at themselves and concentrate on their own work lol.

I actually wasn’t there right next to them when they were going through the checkout process. I just heard about and asked about it to my mother.

It's a giant economy out there - don't sweat it. You are not responsible for your parents actions. If you truly feel God is compelling you to do something, next time you're at the store, tip the cashier, or put a buck in the charity-of-the-month box at checkout. I truly don't think the store wants it back.

a lot of stores will let something worth a dollar go.
Maybe not the $2 stores but they actually dont want to keep hold of old stock when new stock is coming in all the time.

relax. what your parents decide to do is up to them. You know what the thing to do is if it was your situation.
