hey! I'm a rare one........mid 30's with an "old school" mind set.
My phone isn't very "smart" at all....... in fact get this, it FLIPS open.....
and if I want to use the camera I have to find where in the house it was last placed.......
and if I want to be online GET THIS...... I use a computer/laptop :eek:
and my directions are searched and printed out or the occasional use of the garmin. (though we are trying to make sure we teach our kiddos and that they understand how to read a good old fashioned map)
Oh and NO credit cards :eek: and our vehicles are paid for..... mines older and almost ready to be considered "classic" and we COULD get collector plates on it but in our state there are 1 or 2 months out of the year that collector plates can not be on the road so then I'd be without for that time and THAT's not an option.........

I agree about the old appliances being worlds better than anything new, but I have to say that I used to have a flip phone and I used to scoff at people's obsession with smart phones, but once I got a smartphone I realized that it gave me gps navigation with voice, internet, weather, an app for organizing, to-do lists and journaling, an app for recording vocals with studio-quality sound, and a high-definition video camera. But I guess if you don't need to carry those things in your pocket then it doesn't matter.

I once met a widow who lost her husband just a few days after getting a "smart phone".
Their kids pushed them to get it, but failed to teach them how to use it.
He went into cardiac arrest, she was unable to dial 911 :( had to leave him and run to the neighbors house. (though the paramedics later told her that even if she had been able to call right away, in his case it wouldn't had made a difference :cry:)

Now I got a Kitchenaid mixer about 30 years ago.
One day I thought that I was going to have to junk it because the head was wobbling so bad...so I got me a new 8qt DC motor commercial sized one...
I fell in love with it after the first use.

But then I found a YouTube video that showed me a five minute fix of my old one...and it works great.

So...now I got two.

I think it is my phone or perhaps operater of the phone. It does not seem to be available. Maybe the internet is playing up over here? It has happened before then comes good.
