I’ve been pondering......”church “ has to change....like a new computer gets “upgrades” all the time....
God wants to “upgrade” His church...
Imagine 1 or 2 acres of land and there are little huts/cabins/booths specifically for....Prayer, Healing, Sermon, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Praise, Worship, Salvation, Food, Clothing, water baptism, Word of Prophecy, etc.
Church has to break out of the walls and all the structure and focus more on the needs of the people and how God wants to supply all the needs in one Sunday meeting....it’s NOT about just listen to the pastor and all eyes on the pastor.......it’s about God and all His people....
Our dear loving Father wants to love His children and meet our needs and pour His love in us and on us....healing us and drawing us close to Him!
Instead of coming to church and only getting a sermon, you can actually get all of the above!
What would an “Upgrade” of Church be to you?......
As members of Christ's church, we have formed our own parallel societies. While the church building serves as a kind of headquarters for a local congregation it is also meant to be attractive to outsiders without sacrificing function. A church building can become too much like a social club with fun activities; however, the goal should be to get people to love God.
Hebrews 10:25 is often quoted as a commandment to enforce church attendance, but all too often churches are usually just a sermon, maybe Bible study, and singing praises to God. Like always, context is vital to sound Biblical understanding:
Hebrews 10:24-25
24And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
25Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some
is; but exhorting
one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Now if you'll notice the punctuation used here, the colon at the end of verse 24 is used to separate two independent clauses. The second clause is directly related to the first clause (not just vaguely related.) Meaning that in order to have what precedes the colon the following clause is necessary.
What does Hebrews 10:24-25 mean? Church should be about provoking one another to love and good works and that's why we gather. There is no law against love and good works so feel free to get creative.
Are churches following Hebrews 10:24-25 judge for yourself. Love and good works is the upgrade the church needs!
Notice they never say "Just go to church to get a sermon on Sunday then go home and forget about it until next week."
Every gathering of Christians should be about provoking one another to love and good works and generally up building.
