Thats how you are deceived. You confused about world in scripture usage. Theres a World God so Loved and gave Christ for Jn 3:16 then theres a world Christ would not pray for, showing is wasnt the object of His Love Jn 17:9.
The world that Christ loved, His Church Eph 5:25 is the world that God will not charge with sin 2 Cor 5:19, the world Christ refrained from praying for, is the condemned world of 1 Cor 11:32.

What your saying is that the bible cannot be read without an interpreter . How much clear could you possibly want a verse which flat out refutes limited atonement. The Holy Spirit knew there would be gnosctism ( Augustine ) and created this very verse to refute it .

so, no, dude, you definitely do not "go with what it says" -- you go with what you say, or rather, what your teachers have taught you, instead of what the scripture actually says.

there's not any harm to your belief in reformed theology. the atonement is still limited and salvation is still unrevokable - it is only that He holds out His hands, willing to rescue and redeem all who will come to Him, to give whosoever may thirst or hunger, water and bread without cost, so that they will be filled -- but it is only the elect of God, foreknown & predestined, who come. the atonement is not limited by God's willingness but by man's unwillingness. you do not have to constantly, brazenly reject the Word of God in order to hold onto those beliefs; you just have to admit you were wrong and that God's workings are more complex than what you originally believed them to be. it's to His glory
