What are you saying? You don't like me? That's ok, you can join the rest that don't. I stand on God's word whether I like it or not. God's word trumps my preferences.
I like you and enjoy your posts and respect the positions that you take. I like how you stated it that God's word trumps your preferences. In fact, I am going to ponder that myself and search out a few scriptures. It may prove to be useful in my day to day life.

Does not these verses say anything to any of you all ???
Proverbs 20:1 Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
Proberbs 23:30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
23:32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
23:33 Thine eyes shall behold strange women, and thine heart shall utter perverse things.
23:34 Yea, thou shalt be as he that lieth down in the midst of the sea, or as he that lieth upon the top of a mast.
23:35 They have stricken me, [shalt thou say, and] I was not sick; they have beaten me, [and] I felt [it] not: when shall I awake? I will seek it yet again.

What do they have to do with the times God suggests drink for what ails a person? Nothing, is what.

You must think every person that has even a sip is deceived by drink

Could it be you have been deceived? Yeah.

Probably the alcohol content. Typical alcohol content in spirits (whisky, vodka, gin, etc) is over 4 times that of wine, and wine typically has twice the alcohol content of beer.
My guess would be a type of beer, like a meade. Beer (fermenting process) goes back to Egypt but Liquor by the distilling process had not been invented yet. I think that is what I have read before. I could be wrong.

Matthew 15:11 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.
But drinking makes it easier for Satan to deceive A person,
That's true. Which is why of you drink alcohol you should not drink an excessive amount. One and done is a good rule

God's word has much to say about the consumption of fermented and unfermented wine. In ancient times wine could be fermented grape juice mixed with water, thus making it somewhat diluted. Fermented wine could also be made without adding water and making it more intoxicating. The Bible often describes this type of wine as "strong drink". Without question the Bible condemns drinking to the point where a person is drunk. As Christians we are commanded to not let our bodies be enslaved by anything (1 Corinthians 6: 12) and getting drunk with alcohol would certainly fall under this category. Christians should not do anything that hinders the Holy Spirit's influence on us. A person who consumes alcohol to the point where they are drunk has let the alcohol influence their decision making instead of being "filled by the spirit". Alcohol by itself is not tainted by sin, it is the drunkenness and addiction to it that a Christian must absolutely stay away from. Scripture does not forbid Christians from drinking beer, wine, or anything else containing alcohol in it. As a matter of fact, there are times the Bible speaks of alcohol in a positive light.

Ephesians 5:18 "be not drunk with wine where in excess; but be filled with the Holy Spirit." This passage of scripture is warning us to not be "drunk" or drinking to the point where it is to much or "excess". Drinking to much leads to intoxication, which leads to bad decisions. God wants us to be filled by the Holy Spirit which leads and guides us into making better decisions in life.

Exodus 32:6-7 The people were so intoxicated with wine that the Lord said, "they have corrupted themselves."
Proverbs 20:1 "Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise." To be led astray is to be led by the intoxication of wine, where God wants us to be lead by the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 31:4-7 verse 4 says that it is not for kings to drink wine. If the king is drunk and is under its influence, he may forget the law, his morals, or himself. A drunken king will use bad judgement when making important decisions concerning his kingdom. A king who stays drunk all the time cannot lead his people or country. Now notice in verse 6 this passage is actually giving permission to drink intoxicating wine. "strong drink" to those who are about to die and may need it for pain and "wine" who have a heavy heart and is afflicted with anxiety, nervousness, or something troubling them emotionally.

Final thoughts
It is incorrect to say that wine in the Bible was just simply grape juice, but equally incorrect to say that wine was fermented the same as modern day. It has been clinically proven that a glass of red wine soothes the stomach. The drunken state is what the Bible most warns about. The fact is, many people have a problem with having just "one glass" of red wine and want to keep going until it is too late. They become enslaved by the alcohol and do and say things they normally wouldn't. For these people it is a good idea to stay completely away from any kind of alcohol beverage. Keep in mind, back in ancient times the water was not very clean. Without modern sanitation, the water was filled with bacteria, viruses, and all kinds of contaminants. It is still true today in some third world countries where immediately after you step off an airplane they tell you not to drink the water! Regarding alcohol and its effects it has on people, the easy temptation to consume more than one can handle, and due to the possibility causing another brother or sister stumbling in their walk with Christ, it may be best for a Christian to abstain from drinking all together.
God bless everyone!
There are an abundance of writings from the the time of Christ about the process of wine making. See writers like Cato. There were even manuals with great details including how to keep wine from fermenting by keeping it in wine skins suspended in mountain streams that did not get below 52 degrees. This kind of wine was very expensive and only the wealthy could afford it.

There is an abundance of literature from the times including Plato about the common culture of diluting wine with 2 to 3 parts water to stretch it and use it for daily use and to avoid getting intoxicated. This was so common that historians don't even argue over it, they argue over whether the most common mixture was 2 parts or 3 parts water. That debate still rages, but no one debates that it was common to dilute it by at least 2 parts water. So there is plenty of documentation to support the claim that common wine used at everyday tables in 1st Century Judea was diluted and not the 11-13% you get from the stores today.

Try diluting your glass of wine with at least two thirds water so you can keep it real. :) Suddenly sipping saints are not as interested? LOL Check your motives. Health benefits can be received from the diluted glass. If that is what you were after nothing is lost. If it was the buzz, and you don't get it with the diluted glass now you can appreciate what it was like in 1st century Jewish tables.

Don't take my word for it. I have not done this yet, but I would imagine you could Google "Was wine diluted with 2 parts water in the 1st century" and find some of the literature in extant from that period that supports this. I learned it from a study on the Book of Acts for a college class last year. I will see if I can find some of the resources the author cited and post them later.

There was no refrigeration in those days so there was only two ways to preserve fruit. One was to make wine and the other was to dry it out. Wine and raisins. If not an entire grape harvest would be gone to ruin in a few days.
What I find most interesting is that they preferred new wine rather than aged wine. Where today aged wine is preferred.

Proverbs 20:1 Wine [is] a mocker, strong drink [is] raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
1. Who do you think that this is saying that it is A Mocker Of ???
I Think it GOD, But who Do you SAY it is ???
If you can receive it, He is saying that we are not wise to drink it, And HE is Very wise, So that tells me that he didn't drink
wine with Alcohol in it, and HE also says that we are deceived if we drink it,

Proverbs 23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
23:30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine. 23:29 Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?
23:30 They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.
2. Here He is talking about when it's turn to alcohol,
proverbs 23:31 Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, [when] it moveth itself aright.
23:32 At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.
He tells US not even look at it, If JESUS TELLS us not to look at it, JESUS wouldn't LOOK or He sure would not drink it,

Deu 29:6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I [am] the LORD your God.

Proverbs 4:17 For they eat the bread of wickedness, and drink the wine of violence.
Proverbs 31:4 [It is] not for kings, O Lemuel, [it is] not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:
31:5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.
These are advice given to a son in Proverbs yes.

The levite priesthood wasnt to have alcohol

The Bible also says things such as:

Deuteronomy 14:26 And thou shalt bestow that money for whatsoever thy soul lusteth after, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatsoever thy soul desireth: and thou shalt eat there before the LORD thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thine household,

There again, even if we twist the wine into grape juice, the strong drink is still there. What is the strong drink in your opinion? Strong apple juice?

Ha, good one. Out of all the things listed, regular grape juice is not mentioned specifically? What is the difference between wine and strong drink?
Because regular grape juice didnt exist at the time. Technology doesnt allow for it. Its a recent development.

Every year there is a rush to drink "new wine" in France, the Beaujolais harvest. It is a wonderful wine, and though I have only had it a few times, I know I love it.

This wine goes bad if not consumed soon after its production. I do not know why but I do know it is very good.

Maybe this wine is akin to the wine mentioned in the first miracle of our Lord?

About every time I give Scriptures, I get the reply of what people think,
We will be judge by what the BIBLE says, not by the thoughts that Satan puts in our minds.
Does not the BIBLE say Luke For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Luke 12:34

right. where your treasure is, your heart will be.

my treasure is Jesus, and His precious and priceless gift of salvation.

your treasure is rules, Sabbath keeping, do's and don't's

you push religion. i push salvation through Christ.

you are pushing the wrong thing.
