1 Corinthians 1:18 - For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 21 - For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe.

My friend, the law was supposed to help lead us to Christ, lead us to salvation that is it’s sole purpose

it was not given to help you grow, or show us the means of sanctification, it was not meant for that purpose,
In the book the Faith of our Fathers which was written by James cardinal Gibbons in 1876, You will find this quote. “But you may read the bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the “sanctification” of Sunday. The scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday, a day which we never sanctify.” And he should know what hes talkin about being one heart beat away from popedumbship. So did the catholics get it right by mistake. They were the 1st ones to change Gods day of rest from the sabbath to sunday. Did they not know that you can worship God in vain when you worship Him through the commandments of man? What day do you “sanctify”, Gods or mans?

GENESIS 2 [1] Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them. [2] And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. [3] And GOD BLESSED THE SEVENTH DAY, AND SANCTIFIED IT: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

EZEKIEL 20 [12] Moreover also I GAVE THEM MY SABBATHS, TO BE A SIGN between me and them, that they might know THAT I AM THE LORD THAT SANCTIFY THEM.

The sabbath is a sign between God and his people that the “Lord does sanctify them”.

ISAIAH 66 [15] For, behold, the LORD will come with fire, and with his chariots like a whirlwind, to render his anger with fury, and his rebuke with flames of fire.[16] For by fire and by his sword will the LORD plead with all flesh: and the slain of the LORD shall be many.[17] THEY THAT SANCTIFY THEMSELVES, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, EATING SWINE'S FLESH, and the abomination, and the mouse, SHALL BE CONSUMED together, saith the LORD.

I just love “Day of the Lord” scriptures. No one can claim that the scripture is for ancient Israel, because its yet to be fulfilled. It will be fulfilled when Jesus returns. Anyways, if THE SABBATH IS A SIGN THAT GOD SANCTIFYS YOU. Who are those that “sanctify themselves”? Pretty simple to figure out.

not going nuclear, just wanted to point out that gentiles are not and were not under the Law, and while the other 9 were commanded in the N. T.. no specific command to keep the Sabbath was told to the gentiles.

since the Sabbath was in the covenant that God made with Israel through Moses.

so, if you do not have jewish ancestry , then you were never a part of that covenant..
That was once true. BUT NOW!

EPHES. 2 [11] Wherefore remember, that ye being IN TIME PAST GENTILES in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands; [12] That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and STRANGERS FROM THE COVENANTS OF PROMISE, having no hope, and without God in the world: [13] BUT NOW IN CHRIST JESUS ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. [14] For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

We {gentiles}were once STRANGERS from Gods covenants of promise, having no hope. BUT NOW in Christ, should we take hold of those covenants, we have hope

ISAIAH 56 [6] Also the sons of THE STRANGER, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one THAT KEEPETH THE SABBATH from polluting it, and TAKETH HOLD OF MY COVENANT; [7] EVEN THEM WILL I BRING TO MY HOLY MOUNTAIN, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for ALL PEOPLE.

Even them (us gentile STRANGERS mentioned in Ephes.2) will He bring to His holy mountain, if we should take hold of His sabbath covenant. Jesus will bring us to the 1000yr period of rest

so, nope, no Sabbath command for gentiles in the N.T.
Sure there is

DO YOU WANT ETERNAL LIFE
MATT.19 [16] And, behold, one came and said unto him, GOOD MASTER, WHAT GOOD THING SHALL I DO, THAT I MAY HAVE ETERNAL LIFE?[17] And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS.[18] He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,

DO YOU KNOW GOD
1 JOHN 2 [1] My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: [2] And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. [3] AND HEREBY WE DO KNOW THAT WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. [4] He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

HAVE YOU BEEN TAUGHT “JUST BELIEVE” AND YOU WILL BE SAVED
JAMES 2 [19] Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: THE DEVILS ALSO BELIEVE, and tremble.

DO YOU LOVE GOD
1 JOHN 5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him. [2] BY THIS WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, WHEN WE LOVE GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. [3] For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

DO YOU WANT GODS HOLY SPIRIT
JOHN 14 [15] If ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.[16] And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;[17] Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

HAS HEAVEN AND EARTH PASSED – YIKES! WHAT AM I STANDING ON?
MATT.5 [17] Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.[18] For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

WANT TO BE ONE OF GODS SAINTS
REV.14 [12] Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS of God, and the faith of Jesus

BEEN TAUGHT DUE TO FAITH WE NEED NOT KEEP GODS COMMANDMENTS
ROMANS 3 [31] Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

WANT TO ENTER THE CITY - THE 1000yr PERIOD OF REST
REV.22 [14] Blessed are they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city

FROM THE WRITINGS OF PAUL
1 COR. 7 [19] Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the KEEPING OF THE COMMANDMENTS of God.

IS GODS SABBATH COMMANDMENT GRIEVOUS TO YOU
1JOHN.5 [1] Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.[2] By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.[3] For this is the love of God, that WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: AND HIS COMMANDMENTS ARE NOT GRIEVOUS.

OK. You see what all the above new covenant scriptures say about keeping the 10 commandments. Now go read the 4th commandment

John said in his first letter that the Commands were to " believe in the name of the Son, and love one another" nothing about the Torah or the Sabbath.

John echoed the Words of Jesus- " you believe in God, believe in me also". " a new command i give you, love one another as i have loved you"

so, nothing about the Sabbath.

Sure there is according to John

Your tryin to tell me we need not keep Gods 10 commandments because we are givin a new testament commandment “to love one another”. Problem is the new testament scriptures tell us how to “love one another”.

1JOHN 5 [2] By this WE KNOW THAT WE LOVE THE CHILDREN OF GOD, when we love God, and keep his commandments. [3] For THIS IS THE LOVE OF GOD, THAT WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: and his commandments are not grievous.

To love the children of God, we are to keep the commandments

2JOHN1 [5] And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that WE LOVE ONE ANOTHER.[6] And THIS IS LOVE, THAT WE WALK AFTER HIS COMMANDMENTS. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Love one another. Keep the commandments. And again.... go read the 4th commandment

... we receive from Him anything we ask because we keep His commands and do what pleases Him. and this is His command-to believe in the name of the Son and love one another as He has commanded us. the one who keeps God's commands lives in Him...

there is what John said the commands that we are to keep are. very clear in context.

nothing about the Sabbath. John was not speaking anything about Sabbath keeping. ( it is not required for salvation).

HEBREWS 4 [9] THERE REMAINETH THEREFORE A REST to the people of God.[10] For HE THAT IS ENTERED INTO HIS REST, he also hath ceased from his own works, AS GOD DID FROM HIS. [11] Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

Well...Ya see what it says. Now lets see how God rested from His work

HEBREWS 4 [4] For he spake in a certain place of THE SEVENTH DAY on this wise, And GOD DID REST THE SEVENTH DAY from all his works

Yup. God rested the 7th day. The sabbath.

7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The New King James Version. (1982). (2 Ti 3:7). Nashville: Thomas Nelson.

Some will be led away by various lust. For if we read the Word in the flesh then it will profit of us nothing. For the man in the flesh sees God's Word as foolishness.
You can't get where you say you want to go with a "nope" to scripture.

Some day you may be open to all scripture and learn about the spirit. Then you could speak to others about the Lord with the spirit of Christ in you. It brings fruits of the spirit, not distention.

When you say Hebrew Roots fails, the roots of our faith is in the old testament. The old testament is scripture and scripture is from God. That means you think God fails.

What the organized church has against people who believe the Lord speaks to us in both the old and new testament, is that they think much of the old testament is against
Christ. They call this reading scripture in context, and that they believe some scripture is not of God for all men but for Israel only.

Several passages refute this, including Romans 15: 4For everything that was written in the past was written for our instruction, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures, we might have hope.

When James told us we need not obey what is only Jewish custom, they throw everything into "Jewish Custom" and use it to say God doesn't mean it with verses like in Romans 7.

The word "rest" in Hebrews 4 is either katapausis or katapauo. It's not the word "sabbath" (sabbaton). That word doesn't appear in Hebrews; only a derivative is used in verse 9, where it is tied to "rest" (sabbatismos). The sense of the passage as a whole does not direct people to following the literal seventh-day observance, but rather, it reinforces the reality that we have in Christ: "For we who have believed enter that rest" (v. 3, NASB). Those Hebrews who have not believed in Christ still follow the literal Sabbath!

It is true that those who deny Christ follow the literal Sabbath, but it is not true that those who follow the literal Sabbath do not believe in Christ.

Those who follow the literal Sabbath do so because God blessed that day. Those who do not believe they should follow the literal Sabbath do so because they believe it is the best way to follow the Lord. God asks us not to fight about it. Taking pot shots at what is labeled Sabbath Keepers, and that label is supposed to be an insult, are wrong. I have never heard a Sabbath keeper state that everyone must follow Sabbath, only that God blessed that day, created that day at creation, and the fourth commandment asks us to keep it holy. Those things are stated in scripture, it is not wrong to quote scripture. Sunday keepers quote scripture saying that Mary made the discovery that Christ had risen, the discovery was on Sunday. No on tells them they may not make that statement.

God the same yesterday and forever. Jesus kept the Sabbath, God kept the Sabbath at creation. if Jesus was here today - still would keep the Sabbath.? if - God/Jesus the same yesterday, today and forever.

Hebrews 13:8
8Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines.

a divers and strange doctrine. changing the Sabbath to Sunday when God kept the seventh day? God the same yesterday today and forever. suddenly changing a day and doing away with a Commandment? God/Jesus the same yesterday, and to day, and forever.

there is only failure when we don't listen to/follow the Spirit of God or sound teachings. how is sound teaching found? from sound teachers, or from the Spirit of God.

but how will we know the soundness of someone else's teaching or beliefs? through/by the Spirit of God. but the Spirit leads into all truth. how many parts of the truth to learn might there be?

the Bible speaks of elementary truths and going beyond, of learning more. the Bible is a big book and life is a big project. there is alot to learn and think about. not a small amount. how boring that would be.

don't sell God short. he is a big God and His thoughts are not ours and there are many things to learn still from God (the one whose thoughts are higher and knows more than us) and the Bible.

This seems to me to be truths we should be allowed to state on this site, but the people who believe it changed to Sunday feel so strongly about Sunday that it makes them fight to hear it and we are not to fight about the Sabbath. It is best that people who know this about scripture never say so.

I do not believe Adam and Eve were created immortal. Scripture says God alone dwells in immortality. In fact, God barred A&E from the Tree of Life after they sinned to prevent them from eating of it and living ever after in their sinful state. Now the Tree of Life is again available to all, but only those who eat of it attain to life ever after. Multiple Scriptures speak of the destruction of the wicked. We know this as the second death at the end of this age following the resurrection and judgment of all. Oh, I am well aware that some will say, dead is not dead. LOL. I have even been told that apollumi does not mean utterly destroy, which, guess what? Apollumi means, utterly destroy.
Interesting that you think that A&E might have died a physical death, even if they didn't sin  all I can do is try to apply the Word to it and the Bible teach us that the wages of sin is death. A&E only sinned once the ate of the Tree of knowledge and as a result their flesh became corrupted... wow M you made my look at the Bible from a different angle this morning :p

one problem for understanding might be in the name. no other name given under heaven by which we can be saved. but His name wasn't Jesus. it was more like Joshua, only not, i believe. it was is a Jewish name. a Hebrew name. the only name by which we are saved - is Jewish /Israelitish. Jesus is /was an Israelite.
