I've been a believer for 40 years and am weary of dealing with sinful people - God allowing evil to go unpunished. Nothing makes sense. I just wonder how many here are honest enough to admit when God just didn't make any sense? I had a very judgmental "Christian" friend who was just like Job's friends; I don't wish things on anyone but wonder just how many judgmental "Christians" can stand up under the fire if it was THEY who were the one tested like Job. I've come to see that a number of people I had thought were true Christians really weren't. I came to learn about the 501c churches and how many pastors sell their soul for money. Some of the worst people I've known were other 'Christians.'

Even the apostle Paul said that they had despaired of life. Is anyone honest enough to admit that they reached that point? I've really come to see how many dishonest 'Christians' there are.

A Christian lawyer I know was big in his church and his son was a drug dealer in town. That lawyer sent OTHERS kids to jail yet his son got off - daddy was a lawyer and uncle a judge - very well-connected people. He made a killing representing all the teens who got into trouble from drugs - that his son sold them and while his son made money selling them. They're both well-off now. The son is now a lawyer after wrecking lives. I had their firm do something corrupt and when I reported it no one from the prosecutors office would hold the corrupt lawyer and corrupt probate lawyer accountable. I prayed - a lot but God didn't show me that they paid for their crimes. I just can't understand God. All the people with criminal records does NOT TELL THE TRUTH BECAUSE THE WORST CRIMES ARE COMMITTED BY LAWYERS, JUDGES, POLICE, AND THOSE IN GOVERNMENT. Not all - there are some good people but I just see how everything is a big fat lie.

I was reading an organizations page last night and their bylaws are that no one with a criminal record can join. I don't have a criminal record but know a lot of teens in town who do who are much better people than the liars who used their connections to walk free. I just saw how a big fat lie it all is. So that organization will accept someone as long as they don't have a record - but they could be morally the worst out of anyone. Just because they look good on paper.

Unless no one follows alternative news they don't know the truth. At least once a week a cop is caught sexually molesting young kids and they usually walk away with a slap on the wrist. I knew about a young girl who was brutally raped by young men and they all got off because the boys grandfather was the chief of police. Where was God?

I talked to an attorney who was a staunch believer until he represented priest sex abuse cases and had to listen to really sick stuff. He walked away from his faith.

We tend to brush the things aside that God doesn't do but whoever really squarely faces the evil that happens and God does nothing about it? For years I was able to make excuses, and sweep aside the things I didn't understand but there comes a time in your walk when you have to not look away. You have to look squarely at the promises in Scripture and ask yourself why they aren't coming to pass.

I wonder if anyone has really faced these things and come out the other side and how they were able to reconcile it all.

Wow forty years? That is amazing:D Sadly yes there is a clear distinction between a Christian by title and a Christian by heart and some of the most judgmental greedy and corrupt people claim to be Christians but I wouldn't expect any of this sort to be honest enough to admit it unless they were brought to repentance and most of the time they never are because they are stuck in their own ways.

I know it is weary and I know it is a heavy burden to bear knowing and seeing all of this it especially infuriates me when pastors who are to lead guide and strengthen the church are just money grubbing and false teaching liars and oh how dare you stand up to them and call them out on it.
Believe me I know your pain perhaps not near the degree you have dealt with being saved for forty years vs eight for me but perhaps we should think of it in this waay God sees and knows all of mankinds sin and corruption every evil or sinful act and thought yet still wants to save us from it.

He more than anyone has the eyes of righteousness and despises sin more than we could possibly imagine and this burden is intensely heavy on his heart I am sure but if he was willing to do this for us before we were saved maybe this is why we also carry this burden to a degree, maybe that is what it means to love.

Our Father always makes sense. Understanding His will is the wayt to follow Him. His will for each of us as He has ordained. No, we never understand perfectly but we have faith in our Father's

love and perfection.

Take a quick look at Mary. When Jesus would say or do something the totally perplexed her she did something we all should do. She kept it in her heart until understanding was given her.

There are many things we will never understand in this age therefore by faith we simply hold to them and believe. By faith we are able to always go forward.

There are so many examples of teachings we believe yet are not yet given to understand implicitly. Continue in our Savior by faith, and not understanding all will be a snap. After all there is only One Man Who understands all, the Word, our Savior, Jesus-Yeshua.

The reality is that we are also dirty sinners . If Jesus returned before we believed we would be lost .

Your dilemma is that of many people, even non-Christians. They all ask; "why does evil prosper. Will God wink at sin forever?" And your questions are legitimate. So what is the explanation for this?

The short answer is that God IS doing something about it, but most of will not live long enough to see God's workings. Let me explain.

When God made man and man rebelled, God had two options. He could let Adam and Eve be barren and when they died that would be the end of the sinfull line of men. But this solution is very foreign to God. Why? Because He is the All-Mighty and His councils are immutable. Who is there in creation, who can change God's mind? Who of the creatures can stand against Him either in cunning or in military power? So God sets on a course with Adam and Eve where His wisdom, knowledge, foresight and power will just be exibited MORE. Instead of slaying Adam and Eve, he lets things take their course with the sure knowledge that in the END He will have attained His plans DESPITE His enemy's best tactics.

Now if God wants to attain His plans, He must be reconciled to man. In Genesis 1:26-28 God ties His immutable councils with man. And God does not have to shy away from His responsibilities to that man. But if a man is a mortal enemy of God, his life would normally be quite short. You can't try to thwart God and expect to live long. So what is the solution for God to be reconciled to men? The answer is TIME! God will deal with man and record it so that SOME men will look, learn, and turn. So what you are seeing is simply God in action GIVING CRIMINALS TIME! And in other ages the time was short, for God's righteousness demands instant and commensurate retribution.

So in the age of Law, justice was to be quick and equal to the crime. But the Law could not save. All the Law could do was condemn when a man with a sinful nature sinned. Israel's crisis by the time our Lord Jesus came was at a peak. Foreign kings reigned over them. Their own line of kings was buried in Babylonian history. Sickness, poverty and demon possession were the order of the day. But what was the cause? The Romans? NO! SIN! So, in our age, God turns to a new tactic - a double-pronged solution. He sets aside 2 days of 1,000 years each to (i) deal with man's sinful nature and the sins that issued from it, and (ii) train a select group of men and women to be co-kings with Jesus Christ when He establishes righteous rule on earth at the end of these two days. It is then clear, that while God deals with these two things, He must DEFER justice. The word "defer" means that an inevitable event is postponed to a later date for some reason of convenience.

God could have sent His Son Jesus as the much awaited Lion of Judah - Son of David - the warrior-king. But that would mean the death of all men. Instead, God sends His Son as the suffering Son of Joseph to deal with sins and set up a kingdom that feeds the world spiritual food. Our Lord Jesus sets aside His Royal Right, and takes the form of a Servant to men - with the single thought of RECONCILIATION. This will last 2 of God's days, or 2,000 years - for us. And God, having DEFERRED judgment and justice for Jesus, ASKS HIS OTHER SERVANTS TO BE THAT PATIENT TOO! That was the grand difference between Law and Grace. That is the difference between old wine and new wine.

The Christian is asked by God, to (i) not bear arms of justice, (ii) be prepared to suffer injustice for God's plan, and (iii) not to claim his future position before Jesus, the PREEMINENT ONE, claims it. That is, Christians must be prepared to suffer injustice for their lifetimes without calling for retribution. Is retribution good? BY ALL MEANS! God is a God FIRST of JUSTICE, and only then of MERCY. His PRIMARY ATTRIBUTE is righteousness. Only when RIGHTEOUSNESS has been satisfied, can He extend mercy. If you are not sure about this, then look what Jehovah paid so that He could give men TIME - THE LIFE OF HIS BELOVED AND INNOCENT SON. Justice will prevail at length. Every blow to a Christian, every cup of water not given to a Christian in need, every theft from Christian will be RECOMPENSED! But .... in its appointed time.

The end of this age ends with JUSTICE! The Church is judged first. Every Christian, from TV Preacher to martyr will stand before a special throne called the "Bema" (Rom.14:10, 2nd Cor.5:10). The Parables and direct statements, make it clear that any Christian who was disobedient to God will suffer terrible loss. The obedient ... they will be promoted to fame, joy and be co-kings with Christ in His Kingdom ON EARTH. Next, Israel will be judged. Daniel 12:1-2 gives the outcome of that assize. Next, those of the heathen who are still alive after the Great Tribulation, itself a judgment of God on men, will stand before the "throne of His glory" and be judged. A cup of water will decide the Lake of Fire for these (Matt.25:31-46). And then after the first thousand years of Christ's Kingdom on EARTH, the "rest of the dead" will face a terrible and fearsome Christ on a White Throne - for their works.

What God is asking you, especially on the so-called Sermon on the Mount, is to follow Christ your Master in suffering and DEFERRED JUSTICE, as a TRAINING EXERCISE IN OBEDIENCE, so that you can join Jesus Christ as a co-king of cities on this EARTH when He comes (Lk.19:17-19). DO NOT TRY TO GET JUSTICE NOW. If the Almighty God and Father of Jesus, will not give it to Jesus, then He will not give it to you. The father honors the Son. He is PREEMINENT - not you, nor I. When He is given the command for JUSTICE, you will join Him in metering out justice.

YOU JUST HAVE TO WAIT. But the rewards will be great!

I just have faith that there will come a day when everyone in the entire earth will be judged, even the worst of hypocrites.
Its not for me to say I want it in my lifetime or tomorrow.
God pretty much put up with the Israelites for 400 years before they were set free and could enter the promised land. This was so the cannaanites, who were idolators and sinners could fill up the cup of sin.

Even now He gives everyone time to repent.

Jesus did not kill the Pharisees who actually wanted to kill him first. He let God deal with them and it was AFTER his lifetime on earth that Paul was converted. So some of these things that are so wrong now, wont be righted until you have left. I know it hurts and you feel like you cant go on seeing so much pain and suffering in this world, but God does see every tear and has something better for you.

for what would be the alternative, rioting? You know you are better than that to take vengeance in your own hands You know thats not the way.

An attorney left his faith because of pedophiles deviant behaviors? Doesn't sound like they had much of a faith to begin with.
Sinners make a Christian stop believing in Jesus?

I hear people back in America where my family still lives say, God is in control.

Well, is he? Or isn't he? Could be all this stuff we see in the world and if you want to see some really odd stuff move to Germany, is a test for those who believe God is in control.

I can't say that I have ever walked away from God.
Withdrawn from God?

Yes many times but never been truly happy when doing so and in that state.

Yep. I'd love to say I'm the perfect son of God. Ecstatic about Him 24/7, never withdraw, pray all the time, always patient in trials, read the bible every day, love everyone all the time. But I wouldn't just be lying to people, but to myself and God

Bless you my brother in Jesus and @Blain

Jesus is greater than it all.
We may withdraw but he never will.
I find that difficult to accept but the fact is IT IS TRUE.

It has to be he said I will never leave you or forsake you.

Yes after so many years of sweeping the questions/ inconsistencies aside there comes a time when you just can't. I flipped on the TV and saw a false teacher on there asking people to send $1,000 apiece. It was obvious that he wasn't regenerate but it was still sickening to watch. Why does God let him remain on TV?

I would encourage you to read Psalm 73... particularly verse 17.
I have read it many times through life when I saw all the inconsistencies. But after reading it it still doesn't sweep aside the gnawing feeling of God not acting.

Similar to how the saints whose blood was under the altar crying out. But after a lifetime of waiting it gets old. It seems like there is a war on for truth and those who try to be honest and truthful are ridiculed and even called crazy. It's too long to describe here but I've seen some slick liars get away with their lies for many many years and those who speak the truth were vilified. I've just seen very little of God's intervention.

patience
I think some people have no patience which is one of the fruits of the holy spirit and one of the ones that ironically, you have to wait for to ripen.

some people, myself included, are used to instant gratification. You want something, it happens right this instant, now, in front of your very eyes. It would be like those speeded up camera things showing plants growing. But in reality our lives cant be put on fast fwd as it would lose its miracle of living a walk of faith day to day.
Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness. He fasted 40 days. It was not just one day and then it was over. The flood that carried Noahs Ark didnt happen in one day.
Moses had a 40 year apprenticeship.

even rome, they say, was not built in a day.

There will be times when God doesnt answer our prayer why because He is working on it! I think a lot of people just watch way too much tv and think life happens like that, with things they made earlier and everything already set up. But you know that in real life it takes ages to shoot a scene so what looks like a minute on screen in. reality took hours to film.
