The Holy Spirit through Paul said that enemies of the Cross are declared in Philippians 3:18-19 to have their end in destruction.

Why would the Holy Spirit tell the Apostle Paul to write such a thing as this?

Why do most Christian after salvation reject keeping their faith and trust in Christ and the Cross?

This is a perfect example of your inane ignorance.

You have no idea what "most Christians" believe, because clearly, you only listen to Swaggart acolytes.

Try getting out into the real world once in a while. As it is, you're only hurting yourself and your witness.

1. Sola scriptura: “Scripture alone”
2. Sola fide: “faith alone”
3. Sola gratia: “grace alone”
4. Solo Christo: “Christ alone”
5. Soli Deo gloria: “to the glory of God alone”

Philippians 3:18
(For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

If you look at what the Apostle Paul wrote to all the churches under the leading of God, The Holy Spirit compared to what is ministered today, you will see a HUGE difference. Warnings are on every single page of our Bibles, but for the most part they are overlooked. It is only those who are fighting the good fight of faith daily, to maintain their faith and trust in Christ and His work at the cross that will notice the warnings on every page. Something else we need to see is the reason The Lord warns His people so much. It surely is not exclusively so they can be sure to lay up treasures for themselves in heaven, but rather so they can continue in the Way of Righteousness, being the Way of the Cross of Christ.

The Lord shows us here that He had Paul telling the Philippians OFTEN that those who seek God and His Righteousness in any other avenue than that of faith in Christ and His work at the cross, are enemies of the cross. This not only speaks of those who have always rejected Christ and His work of Righteousness at the cross (Isaiah 32:17, 2 Corinthians 5:21), but also those who have known/received it, but have turned from it (2 Peter 2:21). Even the Child of God can be at enmity with God if they befriend the world (James 4:4). Even Satan uses warning so that God’s people will think the Minister cares for the flock, but the warning of the Holy Spirit is not limited to that which is obvious such as the cults that reject Christ, but also that which claims to receive and have Christ, but rejects His Way of the Cross for their daily lives.

Philippians 3:19
Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

The end of those who trust in and teach faith in anything other than Christ and His work of Righteousness at the cross alone for salvation, all grace and the pleasing of God, will be destruction. This does not mean horrible things happening to them in this life, but rather the destruction and horror of being separated from the God who offered them everything through His Son. These are they who rejected God while pretending they knew Him, but all the while were following another Jesus that only appeased their flesh.

When we aren’t glorying in Christ through faith in His work at the cross, we are not glorying in the Christ of the Bible, but rather our own shame as we constantly tend to fleshly things. Always remember that Israel, crucified the Lord, in the name of the Lord. Many today sit among the wheat as tares trusting in many other Jesus’, while following their own Jesus which Satan has painted them a picture of. The Jesus of the Bible, The Son of God that came to save the world, has done so only through His work at the cross. One’s faith placed there alone begins to deliver from glorying in SELF. Daily, we are either glorying in Christ or SELF, but remember the cross is where SELF was put to death In Christ (Romans 6:3,6), and with SELF out of the way, Christ can be glorified in and through us!

Your Word for Today

“Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as you have us for an example. (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ: Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) [Phil. 3:17-19].

Whoever these individuals were, the Apostle concluded them to be “enemies of the Cross of Christ.” He didn’t say “enemies of Christ,” but rather “enemies of the Cross of Christ.” He was speaking of the Judaizers, whom he mentioned at the beginning of this Third Chapter of Philippians.

The Judaizers were Jews who had accepted Christ as the Messiah, but who also insisted that all Believers, both Jews and Gentiles, had to keep the Law. As such, their emphasis was on the law, and not at all on the Cross of Christ. Regrettably, the problem didn’t die with the Judaizers. In fact, it is the problem that plagues the Church even unto this hour.

Anyone who purposely makes something other than the Cross of Christ the Object of his Faith, no matter who that person might be, can be concluded to be none other than an “enemy of the Cross of Christ.” All Salvation is found in the Cross; all Victory is found in the Cross; all Power is found in the Cross; all overcoming Glory is found in the Cross; all healing is found in the Cross; all Life is found in the Cross. Anything and everything that we receive from the Lord actually comes to us exclusively from Christ as the Source and the Cross as the means, with the Holy Spirit superintending all that is done.

How much of the modern Church would have to be concluded to be “enemies of the Cross of Christ”? I’m afraid that almost all would fall into that category. Through the Apostle, the Holy Spirit says four things about such Preachers and people, which are:

1. “Whose end is destruction”: If the Cross of Christ is rejected, ignored, or given a secondary position, then destruction is the only conclusion, inasmuch as the Cross Christ alone stands between men and Hell. If we reject the Cross, we have, at the same time, rejected Christ.

2. “Whose God is their belly”: This refers to the fact that they are concerned about material things, and material things alone.

3. “Whose glory is in their shame”: The material things they seek, God labels as “shame.”

4. “Who mind Earthly things”: This means they have no interest in Heavenly things; they are merely using the Lord for their own personal gain.

Let us say it again:

If anyone rejects the Cross, they have, at the same time, rejected Christ!“

The Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18).

The only way to God is through Jesus Christ (John 14:6)...the only way to Jesus Christ is by the Means of the Cross (Luke 14:27). The only way to the Cross is a denial of self (Luke 9:23). If any person tries to come any other way, Jesus says, "they are a thief and a robber" (John 10:1).

1. Jesus Christ is the source of all blessings.
2. The Cross is the means by which all blessings are given.
3. The object of our faith must be Christ and the Cross.
4. That being done, the Holy Spirit will greatly help us.

this is simply speaking of those who trust in the flesh rather than the work of Christ

the cross is an emblem of shame, not some kind of magical cure for whatever ails us

13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; 14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; 15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

The Swaggarts do not understand a fundamental Bible truth, and should no longer be used as a source for Gospel truth.

The object of the Christian's faith is CHRIST HIMSELF, who said "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life. No man cometh unto the Father but [except] by [through] me. (John 14:6).

So to make the cross of the Christ the object of our faith would be as wrong as making the shroud of Turin the object of our faith.

At the same time, it should be crystal clear that without the cross of Christ there would be no Gospel and there would be no salvation. So the significance and the power of the cross must always be kept in view. The cross can by no means be minimized.

But without the Lamb of God who died on the cross, and shed His precious blood for our redemption, the cross would be of little value. Abraham told Isaac prophetically, " My son, God will provide himself a Lamb for a burnt offering". Therefore John the Baptizer proclaimed "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world".

The Cross of Christ is synonymous with the same meaning as the Lamb of God, the Blood of Jesus, the Finished Work, Crucified with Christ, in Christ, baptized into Jesus Christ, baptized into His Death, Jesus Christ and Him Crucified, Calvary, planted together in the likeness of His Death, Atonement, and Sacrifice.

I hope this helps.

You must be baptized into Christ to come to the Father. Do you believe this?

It costed Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God, His Life, for us to be able to call God, “Our Heavenly Father. “ Without Faith in the Cross of Calvary where the victory was won, you cannot be sons and daughters of Our Heavenly Father. (The New Covenant - The Blood of Jesus).

Now that you have been shown the Truth, how to have immediate access to the “Father”, lets us draw near with repentance and begin to receive “GRACE.”

We don't begin to receive grace after drawing near to the Father. Rather, God is extending His grace to us throughout the process, even before we even acknowledge Him.

This aberrant Swaggart gospel is a mess of confusion and error.

God's Grace is not what it seems to many.
To draw near to the Father one must be following Our Lord Jesus. As we do, His Grace makes us more like Him. Perhaps even the Grace to follow Jesus all the way to the cross. For that we must know that suffering at the hands of evil people is God's Grace.
