There's nothing to thank God less about in what were discussing about the adoption. After we believe we are blessed with all spiritual blessings inheavenly places in Christ Jesus. We sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. Nothing can separate us . We cannot separate ourselves from God . And we are predestined to the redemption of the body , Glorification/ Adoption. There is no bad news here . We cry Abba father because of our new birth .I pray through out my day , thanking God that He is my Father , and that I am no longer a child of Satan...
God has adopted me , I can cry" ABBA FATHER: because He is my Father Amen...

PS. as to the last paragraph, it is not what we affirm. We do not say God saves us against our will. Not even Calvinists say that.
I accept what it says . Without all the theological baggage piled on top of it . The reason that happens is because of trying to have ' proof texts ' to fit the system/ paradigm. You have to keep jumping to other scriptures because you can't explain Ephesians 1:4-5
You can't explain it, because you can't accept what it says.
SO you ignore it.
What is the direct object of the clause "God chose us" in Ephesians 1:4?
It shouldn't be hard. You only have three words to choose from
No , thats exactly what it means by your understanding. Not even close. I think you guys need to take your time and really read the passage.
In the sense of ' Adoption ' , we recieve the Spirit of Adoption. This is the Gurantee until the purchased possession. its the Guarantee , but its not THE adoption . We ARE set apart . We ARE Justified . This is a bit silly , because we literally have a verse telling us when THE ADOPTION is . Rom 8.23 , Just before we have a verse telling us when we are Conformed to His image. This is the same in Eph 1,4-5It’s like many things
we are adopted, we will be adopted
we are sanctified we are being sanctified we will be samctified
we are redeemed, we await the redemption...
c
What else do you call the redemption of the body . The bible calls this ' The Adoption ' . So the Apodtion IS the redemption of the body . This is what the bible calls it .
Romans 8:14-16
Heirs with Christ
…14For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father! 16The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.…
Whats wrong with the simple reading that Rom 8.23 gives. You surely agree that we become ' sons ' through the new birth ?It's also called the manifestation of the children of God. In other words, it is not the adoption en toto as if there is no other aspect of adoption besides this. It is the revealing and unveiling of those who are adopted. You could also say PUBLIC DECLARATION and DEMONSTRATION. Now Jesus of course was not adopted, He was the unique Son. But He was the Son from all eternity, being Coeternal and Coequal with the Father. But there was also a PUBLIC DECLARATION and DEMONSTRATION of that. Romans 1:4
Forknown, predestined, called, justified, glorified...clear order here.
Why do you put justification BEFORE predestination? Paul doesn't. I say this because you say one is not predestined until they are saved. But that would mean that one is not predestined until they are justified, in direct opposition to Paul's words.
What else do you call the redemption of the body . The bible calls this ' The Adoption ' . So the Apodtion IS the redemption of the body . This is what the bible calls it .
The believer is predestinated and justified at the same time. Both come immediately after trusting in Christ. The verse does not say, and then this occurs, then this, then this...
I don’t know about you, but my body has not been redeemed.![]()
Not yet , but I m nearly convinced by some that they must already be walking through walls ect . Saying they have already recieved the adoption. lolI don’t know about you, but my body has not been redeemed.![]()
Any one who had no exposure to theology would ever read Ephesians 1 the way the calvinstic reader does .
He said ' body ' . Are you able to walk through walls like Jesus ?But you have been adopted Galatians 4:4-7

Yes thats called post hoc rationalization.I had this understanding of Ephesians 1:4 when I knew nothing about Calvinism. The first time I read it. When I didn't know what Calvinism and Arminianism was.
