Hello brothers and sisters, this statement has a LOT to do with trusting God, obviously, and the more that I've come to know and understand God over the years, the more I've become convinced that this is some of the best advice that I've ever been given.

What say you? Pros/Cons?

BTW, I believe that Dr. Ferguson's quote is also an excellent and practical way to help us better understand and apply Proverbs 3:5-6 to our daily walk.

God bless you!

Interesting. I've really been on a quest for the last several years of just searching for the truth, and going with the truth regardless of where that might lead. This is very similar. I'd like to read a little more around that quote if you've got it.

Very sorry about the "Lean You" error (instead of "Lead You") in the title. WOW, I must have been really tired when I posted to have missed that one

Hello Surfer14, unfortunately, all I've ever had is the quote itself. Dr. Sinclair has written a number of books and articles, so it is, no doubt, from one of them, but I'm afraid that I don't know which one.

I'll get back to you if I discover where it came from.

The quote is accurate, but it only works when you apply it to somebody with a history of being trustworthy. If my uncle Fred told me to stick a screwdriver into an electric outlet I would do so without hesitation. If my uncle Stanley told me to do the same, I would not go near that outlet.

I have faith in God because He has never been wrong yet. So even when I don't know where obedience will lead me, I go anyway because I trust the one who said go.

Hebrews 11:8 By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.

I know that being obedient to God will lead me closer to him. Humans can not predict the future here on earth, but we do know what the future holds regardless if we are obedient to God or not. Right?

Hi,
I have a trespasser who continually gets on my roof. This person, who has continually hacked and hacks my internet made noises about obeying while I was reading this thread. He is a black male who refuses to leave. He has tried several times to misuse the word of God to get free money, free living, and free, can you believe this, fornication, to which I have continually refused. I am an oldish, female, white who lives alone with my dog. I have been bothered by this person(s) day and night and have been threatened repeatedly.
So, I had a good laugh when this thread came up. He said,"obey" in his black male voice. And, he has a female with him. I heard them talking just now as he has made banging noise at my swamp cooler and her talking near it. It is a very small house.

I always tell these types of persons, non working, lazy, indolent, drug users that look for anyone they can to live off of like the leaches they are that they are not Christians, just practicers of sin. They do no live a life that in any way really resembles anything that the Bible describes as Christian. To them, love thy neighbor means go next door and have sex, fornication, with them. They are very twisted.

So, does God know His own? You better know He does. Does God know who the deceivers are? You better know He does. Does God know what is really in anyones heart? You better know He does. The Churches are filled with pseudo Christians. Those, Who before others purport themselves to be Christians, but live Godless lives. Some, are even in lead positions in the Churches. So, when judgement day arrives, remember, there are those who go to Church to pray and those who prey. But, God cannot be lied to or deceived. And, those to whom the spirit of discernment is given will not be deceived either. As God knows the very number of hairs on your head, He knows your heart.

WOW :(

Agreed .. e.g. Matthew 7:22-23, 13:24-30, 36-43.

Praying for you, for your neighborhood, and for your witness to your neighbors who still live in darkness .. e.g. Matthew 5:13-16; Romans 10:17.

God bless you!

Yeah, Wow. The neighborhood literally went to pot when the black male druggies started coming into the area with their poison selves. So, prayers for the neighborhood would be great. Also pray for law enforcement, as they become frustrated trying to get these criminals.

Yes, they repeatedly break into my router and the wifi. The isp security is a joke.
Not only that, but while I was typing, a Female on the roof coughed/laughed about this. I have a couple of people who are on my roof every night. A male and a female, although sometimes its only the male. They are gang members. there are a lot of them around. Its not a random thing. I'm targeted.

I really hope that they get to know God before it's too late.
Hey you two hackers. If you're reading. I am talking to you. I don't know you. But I will tell you that God is real, I was agnostic for 2 decades before I finally believed in God so this is coming from a natural at doubting and skepticism. I've had such experiences proving to me that God is real, that it's not even funny, that I only realized later. Among many other things I dreamt dreams with events with details from the Bible while I was still an unbeliever and didn't even know because I had not read the Bible at that time! It's scary to dream things and then later open the book of Daniel or Ezekiel and find the same things to the tiniest detail. But this is all small things. The most important is love. Do you know God's love? The pure, unselfish love? One day, all of us are going to die, and we will all give answer for our every word and action before the Heaven and the earth. Will you be okay with that, or is there something that you are ashamed of telling, because there are no secrets in the universe all the filth is going to be known and illuminated in the presence of all. Who will justify you and defend you? Think what's beyond, where you're going to be going after, there's no second chances or saving yourself after it's all done, think why we are given pangs of consciousness when we do wrong, we know it since the youngest age. You need to repent and come to Jesus and be saved.

WOW. Well, they may be reprobate, but they sound pretty skilled if they can figure out how to break through your ISP's security (I know that free, ISP security is normally not the best, but still, you'd think it would good enough to stop your neighbors from hacking you).

Will your ISP allow you to turn their router into a bridge into your own router instead? That way you would probably have a more powerful WiFi signal, as well all but unbreakable WiFi security (that you control).

Or you could keep their router, turn the WiFi off, and just go hard wired instead.

I am very sorry you're going through this JBaptist, praying for your safety and that they will desist. Some people just don't care about anyone and want to make everyone's life worse. It's a very sad life purpose to be serving. Praying for God's unwavering protection over you in Jesus' name.
