That is ignorant right there.
He does not give eternal life to just anyone

Your agreeing with Chris?utter nonsense and an excellent point by point explanation of why most people reject Calvinism
Calvinism appeals to certain people because it defines their life for them so that they do not have to do so
the Bible is clear that salvation is only through the blood of Christ and whosoever will may call upon His name for salvation
@ cv5 as for this thread, why on earth would you start this up again when there are threads running page after page about this very thing?
as for MacArthur, he has basically consigned millions to hell, in his mind, because of his anti-gifts rhetoric
And proof text bingo begins.OK
Eph 1:4-5
Even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,
Rom 8:29
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.
John 15:16
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
John 6:44
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.
2Tim 1:9
Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,
Prov 16:4
The Lord has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.
1 Pet 1:20
He was foreknown before the foundation of the world but was made manifest in the last times for the sake of you
Acts 13:48
And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed.
NopeBelieve and be saved is absolutely correct. But you had better figure out a way to square believing from eternity past before you were born into that equation.
Whoever believes (John 3)I agree with what you say. The question at hand is: when?
Before the foundation of the world as the Bible clearly states, or at such a time as the sinner repents?
Eph 1:11You have to back up yourself what you believe from the scriptures, and not just post a sermon as an answer.
He did?
Sickening hey....absolutely not of God!
Any thoughts or context? Or do I just post back a bunch of verses and just assume you understand my point?OK

Ephesians 1 when are we adopted ( check rom 8.23 ) ?OK

Eph 1 .2 Tim 1:9
who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was granted us in Christ Jesus from all eternity,
The majority of the verses that I posted or self-explanatory, and say what they mean and mean what they say. Most are axiomatic, and therefore do not need interpretation. One simply receives them in their plain meaning.
Rom 8:16-17Ephesians 1 when are we adopted ( check rom 8.23 ) ?
????????Eph 1 .
4According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
5Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
See ,this proves you wrong . I rest my case .
Aaahhhmmmm.........As I have stated before I am not a Calvinist.
Amen. That would be God choosing those who will be given to Christ as a love gift.In the modern vernacular.... Calvinism >>>> "SOME Lives Matter"
Yet God states otherwise, He does not deny or withhold salvation
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.
Luke 15:9
Ok sorry I misunderstood youI don't think he did; but that is why I asked!
And you forgot all about THE FAITH OF THE ONE WHO BELIEVES ON CHRIST.The thrust of John chapter 3 is as follows: No one has any choice whatsoever regarding their first birth. And Jesus Himself makes it perfectly clear that no one has any choice whatsoever regarding their second birth. Both are sovereign works of God, both an expression of His Will.
Ok sorry I misunderstood you
Yet they must be presented side by side with the chapters I posted about earlier in a way they do not contradict.2 Tim 1:9
