Yes thats comforting for those that don't have to endure to the end or persevere. Thats my point that some are missing .

I just view it this way...

Jesus begins, finishes and completes the work of faith in us.

He keeps us by his power through the above faith and he will lose nothing, but raise it up the last day.

The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable....salvation is one such gift.

One thing that always astounds me.....GOD IS SO FAITHFUL that EVEN THE CALL to salvation is IRREVOCABLE.

Imagine that!

The problem is "perserverance of the saints" is also about discipleship and sanctification so it gets very convoluted... so both EG and throughfaith seem to be talking about the different parts of this dogma.

where does it say the call to savation is irrevocable?
why are you quoting John 6 .39 for the church age ?

Church age?

Was not Israel called the church of the firstborn in the wilderness?

a. John prepared the material
b. Jesus called them out
c. Jesus identifies his apostles/disciples as THE CHURCH no less than two times in the present tense

And regardless.....THE GIFTS (plural) and Calling (Singular) of GOD are IRREVOCABLE!

It is not difficult to use deductive reasoning on the above truths and embrace the truth of what I said!

Another problem missed by some....sanctification is used in a dual manner....one positionally and eternal....the other a daily process subject to successes and or failure based upon transformation of the mind

This is essential to understand ... changed my life...:)

I thought you believed in eternal security?
Now you seem to be taking on an argumentative mode?
The call to salvation is the hearing of the Gospel . The Gifts such as 'eternal life are irrevocable. ' The Call to salvation 'is not an imward effectual irresistible call . Thats calvinism .
I've said all along we are sealed by the Holy Spirit until the day of redemption. Thats true OSAS and not the P in Tulip
There are 2 callings: Gospel and vocational, not inward or outward or effectual or ineffectual, etc… (2 Thess. 2:14; Eph. 4:1; Rom. 8:28; 2 Cor. 5:20)

And the ones he is against believe the same thing, he just refuses to admit it

I did not see "irresistible" anything in that post.

I have been reading @dcontroversal posts on here for a while and he for sure does not teach irresistible grace.

I think you need to slow down and withhold judgement and get to know who people are and what they teach.

The call to salvation is irrevocable, god does. Ot take it back just because you do not believe right now, it’s open until you die

Does that say ' call to salvation ' thats like saying the hearing of the Gospel is irrevocable. Makes no sense .
It does if you remove your calvinist hate it makes total sense

does the message of the gospel Ever stop being the message or does god revoke that message?

what is your understanding of ' called ' or calling . For me this is to service not to salvation
