If they you mean we the people because they have failed us. These groups are already trying to force the mayors to step down. They are cowards at best but many see them as contributors to the mob. The Seattle mayor literally let them take over 8 blocks and had the city to put up barricades around them.
Yeah, that is what is so puzzling to me. If the state governments are unwilling to protect its citizens and property then the Federal Government should be able to step in. Democratic Governors seem to be using all this chaos as some sort of political play and they should be held accountable for allowing this to continue to escalate out of control.

instead of lords prayer saying forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us., some people want it to say we dont have to be forgiven because we deny our own trespassing on other people and will kill anyone we think are trespassing against us.

um how is that right?
the land you are standing on, thats under your feet is it holy ground or was it originally actually taken from someone else? it cannot even be cleansed and blessed unless you put things right with God first.

Otherwise what are guns going to solve...nothing.

There was war in the Bible, and God told them to do so. Defending your family and property isn't wrong. They are not their neighbors and you are allowed to defend your home and property. Nothing in the Bible against that, nothing in the law either.
Have you read the New Testament? Apparently such requirements as loving your neighbor, turning the other cheek, doing to others what they do to you, and other teachings don't mean anything? Do you think that Jesus would have killed anyone?

why stop at guns why not just throw bombs and firethrowers at your enemies which you dont show love to, which is probably why they have plenty of reasons to hate you...?

God gave us a shield and a sword in our mouths. our weapons of warfare are not carnal, yet for some very strange reason, some self professed chrisitans still insist on using carnal weapons. Hypocrites much?

and after youve shot a few people and scared the neighbourhood, does that make you feel better?
Well don't worry about calling the cops because they ain't allowed to keep the peace anymore. It's on you whether you want to defend yourself and your family or not?

But you might want to put some serious thought into this first because there will be no time to rethink it after they have beaten you and beaten and/or killed your family, burned your cars, and home to the ground....and I'm not saying shoot to kill but defend yourself. Usually a non-lethal bullet in the leg, arm, ect. will do the trick to show someone your not messing around....just saying...

Cops " ain't allowed to keep the peace anymore"? Really?? Aside from the fact that it is false, do you believe that taking the law into your own hands is scriptural, or even permissible? You may be executed (or at least serve many years in prison) because you killed someone.

Again, where in the Bible does it say that Christians should kill other people? And please don't bring in Old Testament war stories, as they happened under the Old Covenant.

Oh and you might even get by with just a warning shot....but once you take that step then you need to be ready to do what is necessary and see it through if you are forced to. The people in the video didn't even have to fire the weapons because the crowd didn't want to take the risk.....Anything could have happened though if the couple had not had the guns handy....

That is pure conjecture. They pulled guns on innocent people whom they disagreed with. Where does it say in Scripture, "hate thy neighbor"?

Apparently not....Cops were threatened to take off riot gear to go into a shoot out between protesters....I mean how long do you think cops are going to keep risking their lives with all this going on. They are getting shafted on every end because of a few bad cops.

And just where did you see me advocate for killing someone?????? I said protecting yourself.

It is political. Trump could easily declare martial law but as of now even fox polls are showing he is below biden in many states he won last time.

Prove they were innocent?

Scripture also calls us to obey the laws of the land. The 2nd amendment is part of that law.

This has nothing to do with what the Bible says; it's just hyping secular violence. What happened to not killing, loving your neighbor, turn the other cheek, etc? I trust God and do what Jesus said to do and killing isn't one of them.

Read Revelation. Ask Jesus why He gets so riled up and goes to war.

So a band of frolicking looters and arsonists breaking down a gate and trespassing are innocent people?

Do you live on an Island in the middle of nowhere with no access to any sort of news? Oh wait. That can't be it because you are using a computer. Must be something else then :cautious:

Have you seen this story in the news? No you haven't. You've seen "white couple points guns at protesters". No one in the MSM wants you to know this couple was trying to defend their home against "protesters" who were on private property. Now the gentleman has had to board up his business. They called for the cops and surprise, no one came. Looks like we're headed back to the old west.

I watched a brief clip about this on the news yesterday and the media made it sound like these protesters were just passing by peacefully protesting (nothing was mentioned about them being on private property) and the media also made it sound like the couple who were holding guns in front of their home were a couple of lunatics.

As to our pacifist brethren I would like to share this letter. George Washington had his own run in with Quakers especially before the Revolution when religious groups debated the concept of a just revolution. As to how this flag came to be below.

But after the war we see even though Washington disagreed with the pacifist view he respect their right to conscience and saw it as a social duty to protect.

From George Washington to the Society of Quakers, 13 October 1789
To the Society of Quakers

[c.13 October 1789]
Gentlemen,
I receive with pleasure your affectionate address, and thank you for the friendly Sentiments & good wishes which you express for the Success of my administration, and for my personal Happiness.1
We have Reason to rejoice in the prospect that the present National Government, which by the favor of Divine Providence, was formed by the common Counsels, and peaceably established with the common consent of the People, will prove a blessing to every denomination of them.

To render it such, my best endeavours shall not be wanting. Government being, among other purposes, instituted to protect the Persons and Consciences of men from oppression, it certainly is the duty of Rulers, not only to abstain from it themselves, but according to their Stations, to prevent it in others.

The liberty enjoyed by the People of these States, of worshipping Almighty God agreable to their Consciences, is not only among the choicest of their Blessings, but also of their Rights—While men perform their social Duties faithfully, they do all that Society or the State can with propriety demand or expect; and remain responsible only to their Maker for the Religion or modes of faith which they may prefer or profess.

Your principles & conduct are well known to me—and it is doing the People called Quakers no more than Justice to say, that (except their declining to share with others the burthen of the common defence) there is no Denomination among us who are more exemplary and useful Citizens.

I assure you very explicitly that in my opinion the Consciencious scruples of all men should be treated with great delicacy & tenderness, and it is my wish and desire that the Laws may always be as extensively accomodated to them, as a due regard to the Protection and essential Interests of the Nation may Justify, and permit."

It is your right and as others feel it is within their rights to protect you, their families, and community. No greater love than to lay down one's life for another.

That would be called media spin.

A heads up to all. Please know what your state laws say concerning self defense and defense of property. These laws vary greatly state to state. In some states the intruder must have entered your home before you can legally defend yourself. Some are written so that you can defend your property outside but on your personal property. Take the time, do your own research and be darn sure you know what you may or may not do legally.
