This is true but became a new category for one to use to try and get an out.

But it doesn't dismiss the grave error that came before it, that Christ is not supernatural (having power beyond nature and physical laws) or above nature. That is the statement that shows a person to be theologically inept. Yet this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are also grave misunderstandings of the Gospel, sanctification, and soteriology which go along with their Christological errors.

Saying Christ is not above nature is an inexcusable error, a fact that is supported by Scripture in many instances. It is inexcusable because these types sit here as some quasi spiritual guides on forum perpetually as if they are well studied. They're not, they are theologically clumsy.

This is why some need to put away their keyboards and actually read their Bibles through diligently. They do not do this, there is no way, they are on here arguing from the time they get up until they go to bed. They've learned nothing for years, and it shows. :)

I disagree...at first yes..I argued..not now, dcontroversal is a good teacher...he has pointed me to scripture and explained in detail......

I think you are blinkered like I was ...I’m not being rude....but I will pray your blinkers are removed in Jesus Name.....Amen...God Bless You,x

YHWH doesn’t appear in John anywhere.

The BIBLE WAS NOT WRITTEN IN ENGLISH, it was translated to English, some English Bible still use, YHWH or Yahweh.

QUOTE:
Yahweh
(יהוה) (ya•'we) is the primary Hebrew name of God in the Bible. Jews normally do not pronounce this name, considering it too holy to verbalize. Instead, whenever they encounter this unpronounceable string of consonants, (YHWH) they speak the name Adonai. Orthodox Jews strenuously avoid mentioning or even writing the divine name, preferring such circumlocutions as "the Holy One," "the Name," or the defective writing "G-d."

In Christian Bibles, Yahweh is usually translated as "the LORD," a rough equivalent to the Hebrew "Adonai." The Hebrew Bible indicates this reading by inserting the vowel pointing from the word Adonai on the consonants YHWH, rather than use the actual vowels. Based on a literal reading of this pointing (יְהוָֹה), many modern Protestant Christians read God's name as Jehovah.

Elohim is the generic term for God in the Hebrew Bible, translated "God." From the New World Encyclopedia. END QUOTE.

Isaiah 43:10-11 (HCSB)
10 “You are My witnesses”— ⌊this is⌋ the LORD’s declaration— “and My servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. No god was formed before Me, and there will be none after Me.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Savior but Me.

Isaiah 43:10-11 (NJB)
10 You yourselves are my witnesses, declares Yahweh, and the servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that it is I. No god was formed before me, nor will be after me.
11 I, I am Yahweh, and there is no other Saviour but me.

Isaiah 43:11 (YLT) chose to us Jehovah in their Translation, so did (ASV)
11 I--I am Jehovah, And besides Me there is no saviour.

IF YOU ARE MORE COMFORTABLE TO USE YHWH or Yahweh, instead of LORD, that would be appropriate.

It was a very personal vision,God has trusted me with it...I have kept it locked in my heart....unable to share any details.
As soon as it comes to pass.

I know God wants me to Glorify him when it comes to pass..it will amaze you....then I will share it....not until.
ok. Blessings. I only ask because I get pictures too. I always said it’s because I need a storybook to understand. 😉

I find it interesting in reading these three accounts that Jesus asked, "Where is your faith?"

He displayed the power of His faith and so they could also witness the power of faith for themselves so they could be encouraged in

what they would be able to do through faith in His name because of His Divinity.
All three accounts have the disciples question Who Jesus is due to His effortless mastery over the elements, while none make mention of Jesus' faith, only Him questioning theirs'... which is the point I was making :) There was no praying the storm away mentioned either: as He awoke and immediately rebuked the wind and the waves, they subsided at His command, striking terror and amazement in the disciples who were with Him.

Yes .. I can see that part but I can understand @Duskey's point at well in that Jesus as a human always displayed His perfect faith, and He is the ultimate expression of Faith.

This is why I am able to place my faith in Him because He never faltered.

If @Duskey comes back he can further elaborate on his thoughts.

You’re right, but it was done through faith and prayer. When Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. And I know that you always hear me...“ This is a testament to Jesus‘ faith and the power of prayer. I only seek truth, and if I’m incorrect please tell me.
I do see in scripture where the faith of Jesus is brought forward.. I think this is worthy of discussion for sure.

Now there is thread idea... we could use a different topic on BDF.. I tire of debating tongues

Go for it @Magenta .. I think you would enjoy it. :) I think it is worthy of exploration after a member mentioned it on this thread a while back

”For the joy set before Him…” This is what faith is (Hebrews 11:1). He showed His great faith as a boy in the temple - look up Luke 2:49; and when He steadfastly set His face to go to Jerusalem - look up Luke 9:51.

”Endured the cross…” By faith Abraham offered Isaac, and reasoned that God could raise the dead (Hebrews 11:19); but by faith Jesus offered Himself, believing that He would rise again - look up Matthew 16:21.

I see no mention of Jesus' faith in Matthew 16:21  Our hope is in a future Jesus already knows will come to pass.

I am not in the habit of creating threads ;):D I don't debate tongues, either :giggle:

True story:

One day I was at the beach with a multitude of people. At one point a severe thunderstorm rolled through and everyone ran for shelter. As soon as the storm was over I was the first and only person back on the beach, and saw something breathtaking. I decided to never tell anyone but rather keep that moment between God and me.

Years later I was at the beach again. I was kneeling down with my back to the water collecting seashells about 30-40 feet from the waterline. For some reason I decided I actually would tell people what I saw at the beach years earlier, and at that very moment a rogue wave rolled up and drenched me.

I looked up to the sky and laughed, telling God I got the message and won’t be telling anyone what I saw. 😆

Hi @jackrosie

First off, my post was not directed at you. I’ve not had any interaction with you and have just lately come to know your moniker.

I’m not trying to be rude here either, but if you’re just now discovering, via a forum, the deity of Christ, that he is above nature &c, and other rudimentary biblical teachings, I ask you to pump the brakes with your admonitions as you’re a babe in Christ. You’ve been a member here a month or so, not sure how long you’ve been a professing believer, yet you are just now allegedly embracing a truth or two that are foundational to even believing the Gospel, that’s why I admonish you.

During my time on this site I’m quite certain of the errors of the aforementioned who are somewhat blinkered, so that being said don’t be too sure you’ve been unblinkered. Since you’ve just been unblinkered you may want to give some wise pause to assuming others are good teachers, or not.

That would be wise of you, correct? So slow it down a bit with baselessly telling someone theyre blinkered.

Now may Paul’s prayer be answered in you, them an others as per Ephesians 1:15ff.

And you also know that my knowledge of scripture is limited...I have already explained that I have concentration problems...and that God has only just brought me a friend to help me.

I have answered your question.

Now please answer mine.

How does God save a mentally challenged person?
When God saves he always saves in the same manner: Always by grace, Ephesians 2:8-10, by revealing himself to them, and their burden of sin, and invites them to himself; Matthew 11:25-30, grants them believing faith, 2 Peter 2:1, Romans 10:17, Ephesians 1:19, and brings them to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9, Romans 2:4, Acts 11:18, 2 Timothy 2:25. In other words he does all the saving.

I think he wanted to get somewhere and that was the quickest way.
Someone else was here years ago who repeatedly insisted Jesus rode a horse most everywhere instead of walking, simply because in their mind it would have been more convenient for Him to do so. Apparently it made no sense to them, despite what we are told in Scripture, that by land, walking was His main method of transportation :censored:

God saved me by testifying to my Spirit..he spoke to me...it was an amazing saving..28yrs...he also spoke to me in a vision...that vision is about to come to pass after 28 yrs.

No one can tell me how I was saved....God told me ,he spoke to my Spirit.

I know what experienced and no one can ever take it from me and i don’t have to prove anything....God is in my heart.

No you aren’t being rude....you are making an assumption...which is fine....

Again I believe I was led here for a reason.......i was a nightmare on this thread...but most have been patient with me...I am quite happy listening to dcontroversal teachings and until God decides otherwise...I will listen to him and others.

You seem to forget that God resides in my spirit..he is my protector over all...

No, I’m not doubting God residing in you. Make certain the ones teaching you aren’t given a free ride, examine their teachings in Scripture, and examine their walk as well, their behavior, their words or mouth, remembering James 1:26. There are some issues that you’ll see later, things that we may point out about their errors, but you’re not there yet.

Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
I have been whipped a few times haha and thank God for it!

yes @jackrosie be very careful. Some will hold a hand out to you then the second you disagree with them take your head off..
