There is a lot of debate on that point. MacArthur says that, no, Christ could not sin. Quite frankly I'm not sure one way or the other. Maybe we will know for sure later.
Think about these truths...

A. He emptied himself of glory and did not use the advantage he had as being equal with God, but BECAME A MAN

B. He was the second ADAM and BOTH were SINLESS but in flesh <--Christ the likeness of SINFUL FLESH

C. He was tempted IN ALL points as we are tempted for at least 40 days PLUS the three we read about.

D. IT was the Holy Spirit that drove him into the wilderness to be TEMPTED

E. HE WAS ALL MAN

F. IF HE HAD NO ability to SIN, there WAS NO PURPOSE for the temptations which the SPIRIT drove him into the wilderness for

He was TEMPTED IN ALL POINTS AS WE ARE TEMPTED YET WITHOUT SIN. <-this implies he had the ability to sin! BUT DID NOT!

The conclusions are obvious regardless of what MacArthur thought.

Do you agree that, in order for one to have the ability to sin, he must have the sin nature in him?

One, I’m not a teacher at all.
Two, you don’t accept correction

This is an example of believers resisting correction that Soul thought doesn’t happen with true believers. I just said I never said salvation is by works and you falsely accuse me and that was too much for you.
Don't take this as an insult it is only an observation: you are one of the worst Bible scholars on this board. And I am not making any claims of heresy when I say that.
James 1:13
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

He test us, yes, but not tempt us to do evil.

In another scripture, it was said that God tempted Abraham (Genesis 22:1), but it was more like a test.

He already knew Abraham would be willing to sacrifice his son Issac, before he made the request. It was a test on what God already knew

No, I don't agree...ADAM WAS PERFECT and GOOD when he was created. Without The sin nature but STILL could choose, did so and SINNED...JESUS was the 2nd ADAM with the SAME ABILITY...you can forget it...you will not convince me Jesus could not sin....the scriptures, when added = he had the ability as a MAN, THE SECOND ADAM to sin but DID NOT and your use of him being GOD falls flat on it's face in light of him EMPTYING himself, becoming a MAN in the likeness of Sinful flesh and NOT USING HIS EQUALITY WITH GOD to his advantage to overcome.....so....might as well move on to someone else or just accept the truth I just gave you man.

God sees the BLOOD and passes right over...
This is in reference to Exodus 12:13:

...and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.

And this action lead to this testimony:

Exodus 15:13
You in your mercy has led forth the people which you have redeemed.

And

Exodus 15:16
...the people...which you have purchased.

But these same individuals, that were redeemed, purchased, and covered by the blood, ended up like this after disobedience:

Numbers 14:
[27] How long shall I bear with this evil congregation...[30] Doubtless you shall not come into the land, concerning which I swore to make you dwell therein...[32] But as for you, your carcasses, they shall fall in this wilderness. ...[34] ...and you shall know my breach of promise.

Now take grave heed to this new testament passage that uses the very scriptures I just quoted in the old testament:

1 Corinthians 10:
[10] Neither murmur ye, as some of them murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. [11] Now all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition...[12] Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.

This popular verse used is often misinterpreted

This verse is not trying to teach us that, because He conquered temptation we can also. How could such a parallel exist? He had no sin nature. We do. He never sinned. We do. Our sin nature offers the tempter an inward point of temptation. This was missing in Jesus.

Hebrews 4:15 does not say that Jesus was tempted so that He could be our example, but so that He could sympathize with us. He was human. He got tired. He was hungry.

In this sense His temptations were real and in this sense He can understand when we, too, become weary. But this is vastly different from saying Jesus Christ could have sinned.
That is basically McArthur's take on the situation.

I have been gentle with you but, you deceive the flock.

There is NO SALVATION outside of Jesus Christ and there are NO WORKS outside of HIM that can keep, maintain or preserve what JESUS CHRIST completed in His Body and Blood on the Cross for ALL who will simply believe in Him as Savior, Lord and King.
Why do you think I disagree with the above at least the bit that is clear??? There is no salvation outside of Jesus Christ.

Do you think the body is now completed? Is that a statement of faith? I mean you certainly don’t think his works in me are completed in his body (although Im not quite sure what that exactly means as I said. Is the church completed? What else do you mean?

Ok..??

I call Him alot of things would you like a list?
I consider Jesus the expert on how to address God. Don’t need a lesser view.
He introduced Himself as such, "I AM"
Yahweh Elohim is His totality...LORD
Thought you understood Him?
What God actually said has been lost and no one who walked with Him since Jesus ever used a false handle. Sorry but that is certainly not what God says. It’s made up.
A novice, attempting the deeps things of El....

I hope one of these saints dont hit you with Hermaneutics....
Wont hurt. They might know Greek but I know God. He didn’t tell anyone to use that word since Jesus and including.

But of course one needn’t learn to pray from Jesus. One can prefer theologians.

Like you, I believed in the impeccability of Christ.

But God need not test Jesus, it was for Satan to try his best, but because Jesus was pure gold, he had no sin in him (1 John 3:5), he could not be tempted to sin.
Scripture says he was tempted as we are. That’s what it says.

This limits the Word in its application as is, only under that soecial circumstance does faith without works apply. And then there is the Greek application that really eviscerates the counsel the HS is giving.

James is saying if there is no evidence of your believing in what you choose to do, a faith that once was alive is now dead. They once had a faith but it is now a corpse.

Hmmmm how does that fit in with OSAS? I guess works are an optional extra because for them, faith can never be born and then die. A born again believer can never not have faith for OSASers, right? Then how come James describes this faith once alive but now a corpse as a possibility?
Perhaps you should ponder "dead works" with equal fervour.

Eternally grateful for all god has done and given to me

what a joke. My screen name is in honor to God not self,

you are close to be put on ignore. You have nothing of value to add..
Is there an example in the Bible of a man taking a name for himself that honors his own character and God is thereby honored? Doesn’t it speak more of your character that you are a grateful person? The object of your gratitude is not mentioned.

But I will stop. It is just that when a person judges another to be proud, they ought to consider how they talk of themselves to people. One member thought your names cool, not that God is good.

Amen.

I cannot even entertain the idea Jesus had a sin nature if that is being asserted.
That is just most ridiculous.
