Do JW’s acknowledge that salvation is in Jesus Christ ALONE or are they also “works” based because THAT to me is the DIVIDING LINE.

NO ONE IS EVER GOOD ENOUGH!!!

JW's deny a literal Hell

JW's believe in works to gain God's favor
They have three categories in hours of doing work of ministry, they believe this work will help qualify them to be one of the chosen 144,000 that they believe will be around the throne of God

1. Publisher: logs 0-30 hrs monthly

2. Auxiliary Pioneer: logs 30-70 hrs monthly

3. Pioneers: logs 70+ hrs monthly
5. They don’t believe in hell/no eternal punishment
6. Only 144,000 will go to heaven

Think this is what my JW coworker was talking about. Source

When Adam sinned, he lost his human perfection and was sentenced to death. For all dying mankind to be ransomed, it required someone who corresponded with Adam in his human perfection. It required another perfect man to undertake to suffer death innocently in order to lift the sentence of death that Adam had brought upon all his offspring. What was needed, then, was a corresponding ransom.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all — this is what is to be witnessed to in its own due time. — 1 Tim. 2:5, 6
The Greek word for ransom is lyʹtron, which comes from a verb meaning “to loose.” It was used to describe money paid in exchange for the releasing of prisoners of war. In the Hebrew Scriptures, however, the word for ransom, koʹpher, comes from a verb meaning to “cover” or “overlay.” The Theological Dictionary of the New Testament notes that koʹpher “always denotes an equivalent,” or correspondency. In atoning for sin, or ransoming, divine justice demanded ‘soul for soul, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.’ (Deuteronomy 19:21)

It is fitting, then, that in order for Jesus to buy back what Adam lost, he had to provide the equivalent or what was corresponding in exchange. That meant Jesus’ perfect life corresponded to Adam’s perfect life...

Regardless, that's all a diversion. If anyone wants to know what they really believe you gotta dig deeper as they definitely put up a front.

I agree, a big front!

The JW'S leadership in the majority encourage divorce if a spouse dosent convert to the Org.

I have seen several examples in my life, with many of those divorced being decent people in my observation.

JWs Believe that Jesus was the Archangel Michael
His second coming was invisible and happened in 1914

There are many other false teachings.
In regard to the Trinity they basically follow the doctrine of Arius who was condemned at the council of Nicea

Jesus and Satan - Brothers? - jehovahs-witness.com
www.jehovahs-witness.com/.../jesus-satan-brothers
The Watchtower's Jesus is not equal to God the Father nor Eternal but is himself a created being. "Thus the scriptures identify the Word (Jesus in his pre-human existence) as God's first creation, his firstborn Son. This son was actually a creature of God" (Aid to Bible Understanding p. 918). The Watchtower's Jesus is also... Satan's brother! In the beginning, says the WT, God had two sons, that were named Word and Lucifer.

^
This portion is whacked:
In the beginning, says the WT, God had two sons, that were named Word and Lucifer.

What's interesting, Lucifer is a Latin Vulgate term added to the Bible, but the JW's think it was Hebrew the entire time hahahahaha

@dcontroversal - I absolutely believe in your revelation of the 144k - it is true, won’t JW’s be surprised to find out they are NOT in the 144K! :giggle:

My new landlord is a JW and lives next door to me. In my short conversations with him they do not believe in the trinity. He keeps telling me he cannot get his head around it and they also do not believe in the rapture. He believes in the devil because he mentioned he is running amok on the earth because he knows his time is short and believes that Jesus will return to the Earth and rule and reign. Rapture not included.
He believes it is his duty to go door knocking and spread the word but during the lockdown they were making telephone calls instead. Their beliefs in the Holy Spirit is different too but I have not really entered that conversation with him yet.

Exactly....bad, tragic and sad day coming for them for sure!
Perhaps I should PM you because this post will sound strange to most but, I don’t think many understand the martyrs’ crown and being killed for Christ.

It’s as if God demanded a ransom from the Earth for His Son.....

As if God demanded a ransom for the death of Stephen and God got Paul.....

As if there is a “spiritual law” that demands recompense for innocent blood shed......

8. The curse of Adam/the fall was lifted after the tree.
9. Sinless perfectionism
10. The Atonement. “Adam was perfect which required another perfect life to be sacrificed to balance the scales” This was the purpose of the tree, not to atone for sins of believers.
11. Eternal life for unbelievers. Billions will achieve eternal life without belief or obedience to God.

I feel bad even compiling this list of heresies, but I think it’s important for Christians to realize what JW’s believe.

They make the word of God void and of none effect through their tradition in a worse way than Christian sectarian assemblies.

I had a close relative that learned I started reading the Bible and tried a few times to get me to "study" the scriptures with them.

I knew better and refused each time (I knew they wanted me to be brainwashed into their cult).

They almost exclusively use the New Living Translation (NLT) of the Bible and other extra-Biblical literature called The Watchtower magazine. All other Bible translations are irrelevant to them. All of their doctrine is dictated by a central leadership at their headquarters.

The NLT is conclusively a corrupted version of the Bible. If someone tries to have a Biblical discussion with them that counters what they believe then their altered Bible version will seem invalidate all dissenters. That's part of the reason it is so hard to get through to them with sound doctrine; they think they aren't in error.

In order to get through to them you would have to start at the foundation and build the case for why the NLT is in error and what a more correct Bible version is and why.

I live right in the neighborhood of the Hill kimora. Jehovah witnesses are all around me. They are a cult.
They are not allowed nor practice reading the Bible they have a second Bible which was written by Joseph Smith that they follow.
Joseph Smith said that the Bible was incorrect. That Satan had corrupted the written word.
They believe that Jesus came to the Americas after his Ascension and gave Joseph Smith the true vision.
Need I go any further?
