Police have to have certain latitude and power in order to do their jobs - which is a very hard job. One of my good friends is a seargant, and he is constantly bothered by what the job does to him as a person - he sees everyone at their very worst, a d over time he naturally starts looking at people with suspicion and expectimg the worse of them. It's kind of a natural consequence of what he goes through every day as an officer, and it's a daily struggle, he says, to keep his heart from hating people.

You sort of have to expect the worst to survive. That’s a major problem. You’re doing a job where survival is key, and when you’re off, well then you’re supposed to relax. Well, it doesn’t work that way, like your friend has also experienced.

Sometimes I just want to quit my job and spend my days honoring the Lord by doing charity work. This is one of those days.

In the speech he says what happened to Floyd was sickening. He also said the "cries of the righteous" cannot be drowned out by the rioters, making a distinction against the peaceful protesters and the rioting/looting/beating and killing crowd. And yes, what is going on is a war and gullible people don't seem to see that. I posted pictures of citizens being beaten in the street. Where is the MSMs outcry for David Dorn??!! Why aren't people marching in his honor, why are there no signs with his name on it?! He was murdered in cold blood trying to defend a store against looters. They murdered him, left him to bleed out in the streets and had it live on FB. Where is the outrage for this man who was a law abiding citizen and retired cop? I don't see it. I see more people screaming about Trump standing in front of a church, so called Christians. I think people better hold up and wait till all the facts come out before they stand behind these rioters. You think it's bad now? What till the verdict comes down and it's not the one the mob wanted. Then what? Someone have the answer to that question? Then what????

they claim they are doing this because people are using water bottles as projectile weapons

I am sure you don't think allowing looting, killing (because that is what is actually happening at the moment) destroying people's livelihood, causing general mayhem and leaving stones and bricks so people can be even more destructive to be the answer.

So what would you do? Isn't he your president also? See, that is a big part of the problem in the US. Trump IS the president whether or not people like it and as such, he has been attacked constantly and lied about with a vigor that would be better employed in the pursuit of problem solving rather than problem creating.

It seems to me, that the reaction is not one of sacrifice here, that is putting others first, but rather demanding one's own way at the expense of many. (that is not directed to you personally).

I don't mean to be rude. This is a hot topic, so forgive me if I come across strongly. This isn't about individuals?! This isn't about David Dorn? This isn't about the countless people who have been beaten, businesses destroyed, cities leveled? How is this not about individuals. I get you hate Trump. But you ignored out of hand what he said in the rose garden. No, it's not a western, it's far, far worse. People have been killed, beaten and their businesses destroyed all in the name of what? Throwing bricks at police, frozen bottles, carrying bats and leaf blowers to blow gas back at police. Is this the beloved America you're talking about?!! When does it come down to personal responsibility? They will not stop. And if you think this is bad, wait till they hand down a verdict the mob doesn't like. When do we stop a mob? you do realize that water bottles being projected can cause SERIOUS bodily injury/harm, especially if something other than water in in them?
yeah, there are some a-hole cops, BUT a handful DOES NOT make them all bad. Has anyone stopped to thank the men (and women) putting their lives on the line, many with families (young children) at home???

Yes, weed out bad cops and put them in prison when it's warranted. But the black community has a far bigger problem that they don't talk about and if you do you're racist. Black on black crime kills far more blacks than white cops do. Why do we know Floyds name but not one of the 191 people murdered in Chicago this year? Abortion kills far more blacks than white cops. A black baby is 5x more likely to be aborted. Why is it wrong to talk about these truths?
