I put this out there because I know a lot of people are doing their best to be informed. Eleventh_Hour shared a video of two California doctors that has since been removed by youtube, thankfully its still available on at least one other platform. One of the points they addressed is how to build and maintian a healthy and strong immune system. Much of what they put forward about mortality rates and the infection rate has been challenged, but I have yet to see anyone taking issue with what they said about what is needed for a heathy immune system.

And what they say in the video is backed up by other material I'm reading. In the video the Doctors assert that sheltering in place as much as possible, constantly washing our hands and disinfecting surfaces in our homes to eliminate as many germs and bacterium as humanly possible....that in doing so we're likely weakening our immune systems. When things eventually (I pray) open back up I want my immune system and that of those close to me...heck of everyone, to be as strong as possible.

Here's the NYT article for which the subject line is the title:

As with so many things in life I think its about finding the right balance.

The sadly ironic part, if this ends up being true....those who are otherwise younger and healthy, but nonetheless hyper worried about coming in contact with coronavirus....staying inside as much as humanly possible, lysol wiping every visible square inch, washing their hands 20x a day and using hand sanitizer, wearing masks and gloves ever time they go out.....they might be more at risk than the protesters and others taking warnings less seriously or not seriously at all.

Do you have any evidence of that to offer? Besides typing in all caps?

Do you not know that the NY Times (along with the Washington Post) is being sued by Donald Trump for Fake News? But here is an article from the Greek City Times which proves how abysmally low the NYT has gone:

'The New York Times (NYT) has disseminated a fake news story that the Greek government was ‘holding illegal migrants who crossed the border from Turkey at a secret “black site” where they are being abused or denied due process.’

The NYT article titled ‘We Are Like Animals’: Inside Greece’s Secret Site for Migrants,’ has been dismissed by the Greek government.

“There is no secret detention centre in Greece,” government spokesman Stelios Petsas told reporters, adding that if an international newspaper knew about the site, it wasn’t secret. “All issues related to guarding the borders or issues of security are transparent. The constitution is being applied… and there is nothing secret.”

In its article, The New York Times quoted illegal migrants who said they had been captured by Greek security forces, stripped, beaten and held in a complex of buildings near the border.

One of the accounts in the ‘sourced’ reports comes from 23-year-old illegal migrant Somar al-Hussein, who entered Greece and managed to record his “secret” geographic coordinates without a phone.

The so-called “black site” is located at the village of Poros (latitude 40 ° 53’54.6 “N 26 ° 13’27.1” E).

However, a social media search has proved that the “Syrian refugee student software engineer, Somar al-Hussein,” is none other than Somar ElHüseyin, an Istanbul resident & a Software Engineering student at Maltepe University.

This amongst other ‘fake news’ claims in the news piece, can only be described as a hit piece on Greece.

In response, the Hellenic American leadership Council (HALC) have launched a letter-writing campaign, urging everyone around the world to write a letter to the editor of The New York Times to report news truthfully and in a balanced and fair way.

“Unfortunately, this “investigative” piece fails to give the full context of the crisis at Greece’s border; it does not detail Turkey’s motivation for precipitating this crisis – namely to blackmail the EU into supporting Turkey’s military operations in Syria; it disingenuously tries to paint a picture of Syrian refugees fleeing to the Greek border in fear of their safety or their lives without mentioning that the United Nations has reported no refugee movement from Idlib to Turkey as a result of the last bout of fighting; and fails to challenge Turkish propaganda and talking points,” the statement from HALC states.'

https://greekcitytimes.com/2020/03/13/new-york-times-fake-news/

In response Mr. Trump then posted this on Twitter on March 8, 2020:

"The New York Times is an embarrassment to journalism. They were a dead paper before I went into politics, and they will be a dead paper after I leave, which will be in 5 years. Fake News is the Enemy of the people!"

WOW! Fake News Media and Drudge Totally Ignore Earth-Shattering Details and Documents on General Flynn Being Set Up by Obama FBI and Deep State

Yesterday, earth shattering details about how the Obama-Biden FBI set up General Michael Flynn to sow chaos, destroy his life and sabotage the incoming Trump administration came to light...

...So what did the coverage look like on the morning shows?
Via the RNC–
CNN: crickets
CBS: nothing
ABC: silence
NBC: once, at 3:41am
MSNBC: once, at 5:14am
After wasting years pushing the completely fake news on the Trump-Russia collusion nonsense — The liberal media, including the Drudge Report, refuses to cover the truth now.

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/20...ments-general-flynn-set-obama-fbi-deep-state/

If people are unable to see how the evil mainstream media are in a conspiracy to destroy Trump and America at the same time (while pushing Chinese government propaganda) then there is no hope for the USA.

Trump is absolutely right. FAKE NEWS IS THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE (AND THIS NEEDS TO BE IN ALL CAPS).

'Actress and #MeToo activist Rose McGowan called the Democrats and the media a “cult” and said “this is deeper than a cover-up,” likely alluding to a majority of the elite press and those Democrat lawmakers who’ve ignored or rebuked allegations made by Tara Reade, the former Senate staffer who claims Joe Biden sexually assaulted her nearly three decades ago.

“I’m really sad, and I’m really tired. I normally share thoughts, but tonight it’s emotion,” McGowan captioned a tweet on Wednesday that was accompanied by a letter in which she detailed having lost faith in Democrats and left-wing media outlets like the New York Times and the Washington Post. '

There are millions of pathogens in our home, but for sure sanitizing constantly and everywhere is not a good thing.

The reason being is when we do this we are eliminating the helpful bacteria and viruses that help us keep a balance in our gut, skin inside etc.,

Good bacteria eats bad bacteria (very simple analogy) ... this helps keeps a balance.

My dad served our community as a physician for over 50 years. He was never sick enough to take time off from work. He was clean, he had to be clean because he performed surgery and infection was a constant issue he had to deal with. You build up resistance when you have a limited exposure and your body produces antibodies. He was a firm believer that a temp means your body if fighting off an infection and you should not lower your body temp unless it is over 103. Then the high temp could do brain damage. Otherwise you are fighting off a virus and building up resistance and he considered that to be a good thing. If we tell people they can not work when they have a temp then they are going to be tempted to take medicine to lower their temp and then their body will not build up it's antibodies and it's natural defenses. So I do know people who allow limited exposure to build up their natural resistance to sickness and disease. My father, my brother, my son and my wife. They do not ever get sick because they do not live life in a protective bubble. I do not know of any of them that has ever taken time off from work because they did not feel good.

I'd be curious to know your thoughts on a particular question EH. I have some data, but not enough. What I know from Health Canada's website (I believe you're also in Canada) is that 806,499 tests have been done (as I write this) with 55,473 coming back positive. I'm reading that there is potential for both false positives and false negatives...but I'm going to leave that completely aside for the moment.

That's 6.9% by my math....and I'm wondering, if the remaining 93.1%.....is it possible that some of them have been in contract with coronavirus and simply not been infected by it? Like a natureal immunity kind of thing? I'm just wondering if something around this 6.9% figure....could this be the % of the population susceptible to getting infected, be it mild, asymptomatic, serious or critically?

Thoughts/

Many tests have the potential for false positives and false negatives, for sure the tests are still not that reliable being a new virus.

Like a natural immunity kind of thing?
I do not see how there could be a natural immunity since it is new virus, hopefully those exposed now will have this immunity.

If they have been exposed and not infected mostly like there was not enough of the virus on the surface or in the air, or the virus was
already in a weakened state having been exposed to the elements not able to replicate in the body to cause illness, in those cases they body has not developed a strong immunity yet either and they could still be infected.

There are still too many unknowns with this virus. ... for instance how long the immunity lasts.

It's a known fact that it does weaken the immunity over time.

However... It beats the alternative. It's no different than washing your hands before holding a newborn. It's not helping their immunity, but they're at a higher risk of complications.

It's for a time...

I never considered my immune system until now. One good thing to come out of this though is we can actually see the real shade of
blue when looking the sky and see the stars at night. Also wild life appears to be a little more tame as well. But its an aweful price to
pay for it.

Thanks, there is a mountain of unknowns at this point....less now than in December or January certainly, but its like a 100 ml cup, before we had 2 ml worth of data and now we're up to 20 ml tops....still 80 millitres of unknown.

The reason I asked the question is because of the cases I've seen being reported in warehouses, fulfillment centres and food processing places. From everything I'm reading, and from my own experience being in warehouses....these places are as close to a petri dish as you can find in a lot cases....they're ideal breeding grounds for a virus in my opinion.

Protocols now in place are temp checks at the start of shift....everyone comes in, gets their temp taken....and if there's no temp, in ya go. A temperature is an indication that the body is fighting an infection of some kind....the immune system is working, battling something. But asymptomatic carriers, by definition...no symptoms, they're not showing a fever. I was simply wondering if there might be people out there, who when they come into contact with the virus....enough of it, and strong enough....but they just 'brush it off' more or less, and don't test positive at all.

As you continually point out of course (and accuratley) it is a novel virus.....its new, and there is so much more to learn.

I'm still keeping a close eye on Sweden. Trudeau in early April said that strong measures "could" keep the death toll down to somewhere between 11 and 12 thousand in Canada....but without strong measures that number could climb to 100 thousand, that was based on modelling done by Canada's health offcials apparently.

We know that modelling can be wrong, scientists are not Gods...they do make mistakes. Given that Sweden is about 1/4 the size of Canada, and has chosen NOT to use strong measures....then this modelling would suggest that they should experience about 25,000 deaths....right now they're at a little over 2,500.....so we should get a decent indication about how accurate this modelling is.

I can tell you about a good friend who lives north of Toronto in a small farming community and she had the virus in March, she had been in contact with a student who had a Grandmother who had been on a plane returning from India.

She is forty years old, healthy no underlying health problems.

Both her lungs in serious pain for 30 days, high fever, no energy and she could only say three words at a time because of shortness of breath.

The doctor told her when she could only say one word to go to the hospital.... Thankfully she has recovered and is fine.

Her husband and son both with milder symptoms.

I had coffee with her the day before she became sick and we were much closer than 6 feet/2 meters ... but I do not know if have been exposed, but I tend to think not.
