As a matter of FACT, I have researched the matter thoroughly, and perhaps you could learn from my research (if you are prepared to abandon all the propaganda an myths about the KJV).

How do we try the spirits to see if they are of God his interpretation. Or of men as private interpretations.

If Jesus was a seed, then your heart was a seed of you.
For Jesus is the heart of God the Father, which makes Him God Almighty.
Jesus is the tree of the seed/word of God, that came into the world, NOT a seed.
HE IS THE TREE OF LIFE, NOT the seed of life.
As He always has been and always will be.
The seed comes from the tree, NOT a seed from a seed.
He is called the word of God because of the word being in Him.
The word of God is both the living flesh and living water in the blood of Jesus.
The Holy Spirit is the blood or life of Jesus to the world.
Even as the issues of life flow from or out of the heart, so also and in like manner, do the issues of life for man, flow from God the Father from, out of, and through Jesus, the Christ.
Hence the scripture that says, "But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory BY Christ Jesus.
And again, "I can do all things THROUGH Christ, which strengthens or makes strong, enables, and empowers me".
The word of God IS spirit and as the spirit is in the person, even in Jesus, so is the person, or so he is. That includes Jesus.
Jesus said He was the truth and the bible says, He was full of grace and truth.
Both Grace and Truth are Spirits of God.

So which one came first, the Spirit or the Word?

But if we take how the Canon is formatted by beginning with the Law, we simply go to Genesis 1:1 In the BEGINNING...

Till that point, it was all word of mouth.
But if we go by logistics, we can say the Holy Spirit inspired written Word of God is at least 1,500+ years after we read Genesis 1:2 where the Holy Spirit is observing the chaotic and voided Earth.
Therefore, it's rather easy to conclude the Spirit came well before the written Word.

And so it is with Jesus.
If He is the heart of the Father, then He too is the earth, ground, or dirt from which the seed started, metaphorically speaking.
Also, again metaphorically speaking, scripture points to the spirits as within man as being the trees, but scripture also says, as the spirit is in the man, SO IS THE MAN, for it is written, "... as He is [in us], so are we in this world."
Christ is the tree of life because of the Spirit in Him.
Indeed, brother. You stated correctly. In this verse, Paul personifies the Holy Scripture. When something is equated to God, that is a very serious matter. And yet the way that Paul does it in Romans 9:17, it is like he simply reveals this unique truth with no element of surprise. I also believe that Paul is showing the Oneness and Unity of both the Scripture and God, since they are One and the Same. Romans 9:17 also shows that the Scripture existed EVEN BEFORE any word of Scripture was penned down. For when the Lord was dealing with Pharaoh through Moses and Aaron his brother, the Scripture had not been written yet. Absolutely amazing!
There is another place where Paul personifies the Holy Scripture and it is in Galations 3:

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? {6} Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. {7} Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. {8} And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed.
In this example, we see that Paul is telling us that it was the Scripture that preached the Gospel unto Abraham back in Genesis 12. And yet, when we look up the O.T. reference, we see that it was Jesus Christ (God) who was speaking this very Gospel unto Abraham:

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: {2} And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: {3} And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Once again, we see from this example that Jesus Christ (God) and the Holy Scripture are One and the Same. Another thing that is interesting Is that Paul said that the Scripture foresaw when God would justify the heathen through faith. Another great example of Personification of the word of God. And so the Scripture could see far out in the future, and it also preached unto Abraham.
There is even another example of personification of the word of God and that is Hebrews 4, and this is probably by far the strongest confirmation and Scriptural testimony which shows the Oneness and deep connection between Jesus Christ (Word of God) and the Holy Scripture (word of God):

For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. {13} Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. {14} Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. {15} For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. {16} Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
We see that after Paul speaks about Israel and His exhortation for them to enter into God’s rest, that he then transitions right into the subject of the word of God (lower case w). According to Paul, the Bible is both living and powerful, and that it can discern the thoughts and intents of the heart. But now notice verse 13, and study what happens in this next verse. It appears that Paul is now unveiling who He is also speaking about. Paul uses the word “Neither” to begin verse 13, which tells us that he is continuing his thought from verse 12. And obviously we know he is speaking about the Scripture (word of God). Now in verse 13, we see both another unique example of the Scripture being personified. For Paul says Neither is there any Creature that is not manifest in His Sight. But that all things are naked and completely open unto the eyes of Him with whom we have to do. Paul uses personal pronouns as he is continuing his description about the power of the word of God, and at the same time we also know that Paul is also speaking about Jesus Christ, our Great High Priest, because in verse 14, now Paul is revealing that he was speaking about Jesus Christ the whole entire time. This should be obvious by the fact that he uses the phrase “Seeing then.” The phrase “Seeing then” only appears 5 times in the blessed King James Holy Bible. And every time that phrase occurs it is Always used to refer back to what was just stated in the previous verse. You can check that out brother. Which would then mean that when Paul was speaking of the word of God (written Scripture) in verse 12, he also was speaking of Jesus Christ (Word of God). That one phrase in verse 14 “seeing then” connects the word of God and the Word of God and shows that they are One and the Same. Whatsoever attribute is applied unto the word of God is also applicable to Jesus Christ and likewise whatsoever attribute is ascribed unto Jesus Christ is also ascribed unto the Holy Bible. What is true of the Holy Scripture is true of Jesus Christ and what is true of Jesus Christ is also true of the Holy Scripture. Jesus Christ is the Scripture and the Holy Scripture is Jesus Christ. Many commentators and pastors and scholars will say that Hebrews 4:13 is speaking of Jesus Christ, and I say Amen! Because Hebrews 4:13 is indeed speaking of Jesus Christ. And yet, the scholars and theologians stop there and they do not go any further to state that Hebrews 4:13 is also speaking about the Scripture (word of God).
Nehemiah, I do understand that Jesus Christ the Word has no beginning and end. What I was referring to is Jesus' humanity. As a human and man, Jesus had a beginning (day he was born) and an end (day of his Death on the Cross of Calvary), and we understand that his end was only temporary and not permanent, because He resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures. And after 40 days in His new post resurrection and glorified body, He then ascended back up to His heavenly Father.
And so Nehemiah, just to clarify once again. I do understand that Jesus as God has no beginning nor ending, but as a human He did have a physical beginning and a physical end and it was just temporary.
Likewise, the word of God, Holy Scripture in its Divine nature has no beginning and no ending. And yet, at the same time, the Holy Scripture in its human nature, does have a beginning (Gen. 1:1) and an end (Rev. 22:21).
So how did Moses learn how to write the written spoken word? Yet it is written in Exodus 31:18
"And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God"
I am fully aware of symbolic meaning of 'seed' and 'tree' and others represented in the scripture which is the reason I was pointing out that the seed comes from the 'earth', which has symbolic meaning in addition to it literal meaning of dry ground.
Moses was raised as an Egyptian having access to the best education. He know doubt knew the skill of writing. Recently, an archaeologist uncovered something incredible. They discovered that not only was the Hebrew Language the very first pt together language, but each Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet was an Egyptian Hieroglyph that (Moses) made his own twist to it. Essentially, Moses knew the Hieroglyphs very well and turned that into the Hebrew Alphabet. This is no doubt how he wrote the first 5 Books (the Law).
