I did the research in order to save my friends from Catholicism because I believed like you did. After doing the research I realized I was incorrect and was lead to the Catholic Church. :)

i'm not roman catholic but I have

a lot of friends who are, we do interdenominational things

like collect presents for the Boys and Girls orphanage or

Samaritian's purse shoe boxes and things. do you have good

websites so I can learn more of the denomination? I'm a

collector of information lol. you never know when it might

come in handy and if nothing else its a starter to talk about

Jesus to people :)

YouTube - Who Am I - Casting Crowns

I am not Roman Catholic either. But I work at a Roman

Catholic university. In the mail room. A lot of people I know

are Catholic, and most of them are fine people. The laity are

having less problems than some of the priests. Anyway, I

watch EWTN and sometimes watch Mother Angelica and Fr.

Groeschel and Fr. Pacwa, and Marcus Grodi. I learn about

Catholicism that way. There is still much in common between

Catholicism and Orthodoxy, as these were united for about

1014 or 1054 years before the parted ways. Up until about

806 AD, the Church was very united. After the death of St.

Leo III, Rome fell into some errors of haughtiness and schism,

and they falsely preached against blessed St. Photios the

Great. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

This is not an issue about the quality of people in the RCC. There are many fine people in the RCC...just as there are many fine people trapped in Mormonism.

If any research led you to the RCC, then you are not doing your research very thoroughly. JUST READ THE BIBLE!!!

From my understanding, 1st Century believers didn't call themselves Catholics of any shade. I suggest you read the book of Acts and compare it to Catholicism as you and I know it.

I did. Why do you think I became catholic? :) the Catholic and Orthodox churches are the closest in belief to the earliest Christians.

So then you did not see in the Bible that Mary was immortal, right? And you saw that she had other children, right? ( MT 12:46, Mt 13:55, Mark 3:31, Luke 8:19, John 2:12,Acts 1:14)
You saw that to worship anyone OTHER THAN JESUS was an abomination unto the Lord, right??( 1st and 2nd Commandment found in Ex 20) (That would include praying to "saints"...dead people, BTW...which is forbidden in Deut 18:10-12). You got that these RCC practices, amongst others, are FORBIDDEN by God? Cuz if you didn't, you need to read it again.

The Roman Catholic Church,is the cruel Roman Empire's version of Christianity, and is a blending of paganism with Christianity.

What happened back then, could be dismissed if they straightened it out by now and were on the right track, but as you can see they are even more occultic than they were before, some even talking along the lines of the New Age religion, which is the worse occult religion to ever be in the history of mankind, for they do not accept a few occult ideas, but embrace every occult practice and belief on the planet, not only now,but from the past as well, which God warns us of them in 1 Timothy 4:1-3,who will put out an occult interpretation of Christianity, and will reinterpret all religions according to their occult interpretation,as part of the one world religious system.

I do not want to knock anybody's sincerity in God,but the Roman Catholic Church is a blending of the occult and Christianity, which you can see the things they do.

Jesus said do not fight for the kingdom of God by physical force, feed and clothe your enemies, love your enemies,if they do not listen to your message turn and walk away,be harmless as doves and wise as serpents,if physically abused to not physically abuse back,if verbally do not verbally abuse back.

If the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church, all someone has to do is explain how they could do all the fighting, and crusades, and persecuting, and did not show love, trying to extend power by physical force, showing hatefulness, that Jesus said not to do,and if you do go forth in that manner you are not on His side, and not a Christian.

Please explain this behavior to where it can fit in to the true Church of God,and I will believe they are the true Church.

They are the cruel Roman Empire's version of Christianity, and since the Roman Empire was seeking power and more territory, which God represents them as iron, and more determined to gain power than any other world power, they made their religion that same cruel way, making it a false Christian Church.

But if point it out you're the bad guy,and not tolerant, when where was the tolerance back then, and they do not tolerate it,but mainly with words, but hold unto your seats folks,it's going to be a bumpy ride, for they are going to do it again, for the Vatican will eventually be the one world religious system, when Europe and America join as one, which George Bush said no power on earth will be able to divide them, and they go by the fundamental beliefs of the New Age religion's Christianity, and represent all religions that have that occult interpretation as their core belief, they will go back to persecuting all other people who do not adhere to that, but this time they will have the world on their side.

But the Muslims will be persecuted too,so maybe it will be a time where the Muslims and Christians can sit down and have a chat, since they will be in the same boat, the world against them.

I do not believe all Catholics will follow them, and a lot will not, which some people that an evil pope is coming, and some believe the last 2 popes are leading the Vatican away from fundamental beliefs.

Yessir. And this is only the tip of the proverbial iceberg. And then there's the Trinity error...

Hail Mary. Blessed art thou amongst women and blessed is the fruit of they womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Go to Fatima . org and read about the Holy Mother's appearance to three shepherd children in Portugual in 1917. Read about the miracle that was produced there, as the Holy Mother said it would occur and how it was reported in newspapers at the time even by atheists and Masons.

Being the Mother of Jesus and God, is it so crazy to think that God would have a special place and plan for this woman that was hailed by the angel of God?

Again, Catholics don't worship Mary and the Saints, they seek their intercession in prayers. They are not dead people, they are alive in Heaven.

Amazing how the Roman Catholic and Greek Orthodox BOTH claim to be the original holy apostolic and catholic church when neither actually are.

As has been pointed out, the saints in Heaven are NOT dead.

Rom. 8:35-39 - therefore, death does not separate the family of God and the love of Christ. We are still united with each other, even beyond death.
Matt. 17:3; Mark 9:4; Luke 9:30 - Jesus converses with "deceased" Moses and Elijah. They are more alive than the saints on earth.
Matt. 22:32; Mark 12:27; Luke 20:38 - God is the God of the living not the dead. The living on earth and in heaven are one family.
Luke 15:7,10 – if the angels and saints experience joy in heaven over our repentance, then they are still connected to us and are aware of our behavior.
John 15:1-6 - Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. The good branches are not cut off at death. They are alive in heaven.
1 Cor. 4:9 – because we can become a spectacle not only to men, but to angels as well, this indicates that angels are aware of our earthly activity. Those in heaven are connected to those on earth.
1 Cor. 12:26 - when one member suffers, all suffer. When one is honored, all rejoice. We are in this together as one family.
1 Cor 13:12; 1 John 3:2 - now we see in a mirror dimly, but in heaven we see face to face. The saints are more alive than we are!
Heb. 12:1: we are surrounded by a great glory cloud (shekinah) of witnesses. The “cloud of witnesses” refers to the saints who are not only watching us from above but cheering us on in our race to heaven.
And the Theotokos is ever virgin. She had no other children.

Exodus 13:2,12 - Jesus is sometimes referred to as the "first-born" son of Mary. But "first-born" is a common Jewish expression meaning the first child to open the womb. It has nothing to do the mother having future children.
Exodus 34:20 - under the Mosaic law, the "first-born" son had to be sanctified. "First-born" status does not require a "second" born.
Ezek. 44:2 - Ezekiel prophesies that no man shall pass through the gate by which the Lord entered the world. This is a prophecy of Mary's perpetual virginity. Mary remained a virgin before, during and after the birth of Jesus.
Mark 6:3 - Jesus was always referred to as "the" son of Mary, not "a" son of Mary. Also "brothers" could have theoretically been Joseph's children from a former marriage that was dissolved by death. However, it is most likely, perhaps most certainly, that Joseph was a virgin, just as were Jesus and Mary. As such, they embodied the true Holy Family, fully consecrated to God.
Luke 1:31,34 - the angel tells Mary that you "will" conceive (using the future tense). Mary responds by saying, "How shall this be?" Mary's response demonstrates that she had taken a vow of lifelong virginity by having no intention to have relations with a man. If Mary did not take such a vow of lifelong virginity, her question would make no sense at all (for we can assume she knew how a child is conceived). She was a consecrated Temple virgin as was an acceptable custom of the times.
Luke 2:41-51 - in searching for Jesus and finding Him in the temple, there is never any mention of other siblings.
John 7:3-4; Mark 3:21 - we see that younger "brothers" were advising Jesus. But this would have been extremely disrespectful for devout Jews if these were Jesus' biological brothers.
John 19:26-27 - it would have been unthinkable for Jesus to commit the care of his mother to a friend if he had brothers.
John 19:25 - the following verses prove that James and Joseph are Jesus' cousins and not his brothers: Mary the wife of Clopas is the sister of the Virgin Mary.
Matt. 27:61, 28:1 - Matthew even refers to Mary the wife of Clopas as "the other Mary."
Matt. 27:56; Mark 15:47 - Mary the wife of Clopas is the mother of James and Joseph.
Mark 6:3 - James and Joseph are called the "brothers" of Jesus. So James and Joseph are Jesus' cousins.
Matt. 10:3 - James is also called the son of "Alpheus." This does not disprove that James is the son of Clopas. The name Alpheus may be Aramaic for Clopas, or James took a Greek name like Saul (Paul), or Mary remarried a man named Alpheus.
The Catholic/Orthodox view takes a much closer look at the Scriptures than I've ever found in a Protestant denomination. It not only takes the Scriptures into account, but looks at the historical/cultural backgrounds of the time. When I realized that the Catholic viewpoint most accurately fits the Scriptures as well as the teachings of the early Church, I had no other choice than to become Catholic. It was where Our Lord was calling me to be.

If neither Rome, nor the Orthodox Church, are the original NT Church, then there is no Church of Christ, and Christ is a deceiver (cf. Matt. 16:18). None of the Protestant denominations, and there are many of them, can trace their teachings back to an apostle of Jesus Christ. The teachings are new, innovations, and some of them are just re-hashing of old heresies like Sabellianism, as in the Oneness people or the people who say "Oneness is closer to the truth" than Trinity is. That is old heresy, which comes from ignoring and denigrating ancient Church history. And from claiming either sola Scriptura or semi Sola Scriptura, whatever that is! The Jesus only baptism people are great deceivers, as are the rest of the Protestant sects. They all rely on Martin Luther's false premise of sola Scriptura. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

AMEN. It's just that Orthodoxy disagrees with Rome on its teaching of the immaculate conception of the Virgin. The Orthodox generally accept the assumption of the Virgin into heaven. But they disagree strongly with the alleged visions of Bernadette of Lourdes and the 3 shepherd children at Fatima, Portugal. They view this as false and propaganda for the papists, who are known for their false, ecstatic visions and counterfeit miracles. Lying wonders. Take care. In Erie PA Scott R. Harrington

So, which church is the correct one in your interpretation? And why should I trust your interpretation over the interpretation of the first century Christians? Why should I believe you and not Polycarp (who learned the Gospel from the Apostle John directly)?

the correct church today is EPHESIANS 4 V 10 -12. ONCE YOUR LED TO ONE OF THESE OFFICES IN THE CHURCH BY THE HOLY GHOST THEY WILL STAY WITH THE WRITTEN WORD AND NOT COMPREMISE WITH MANS OR DENONINATION IDEAS. ANYONE THAT STRAYS FROM THE DOCTRINE OF THE APOSTLES IS IN GROSS ERROR.

That doesn't really help someone who wants to know which church is correct. Is it the Presbyterians? The Lutherans? The Catholics? The Messianic Jews? The Orthodox? Is your church the correct one? If so, what church is it? How can we tell it's correct?

The church which teaches the proper way to heaven (gospel) which could be anyone, all or none of those. The only way to know is search Gods word.
