Because it is glorying a single person a man for what? do you know?
Why is it glorifying a man?
It's signalling that a new Pope has been elected.
How does that glorify a man?

No it's not idolatry.
Wow. God says otherwise, through Jeremiah, in chapter 7:

16 “As for you, do not pray for this people, and do not lift up cry or prayer for them, and do not intercede with Me; for I do not hear you. 17 Do you not see what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? 18 The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead dough to make cakes for the queen of heaven; and they pour out drink offerings to other gods in order to spite Me. 19 Do they spite Me?” declares the Lord. “Is it not themselves they spite, to their own shame?” 20 Therefore thus says the Lord God, “Behold, My anger and My wrath will be poured out on this place, on man and on beast and on the trees of the field and on the fruit of the ground; and it will burn and not be quenched.”

By sending up white smoke up dressing him in a elaborate costume and placing him in a window so all can adorn upon him.

Mary as Queen of Heaven has nothing to do with the pagan cult of the queen of heaven condemned in Jeremiah but relates to her position of the mother of Jesus who is the King of Heaven (and sits on the throne of David).

Giving honour to the true Queen of Heaven is not wrong because some pagans 3,000 years ago gave honour to a false queen of heaven, just as worshipping the one true God is not wrong because some pagans 3,000 years ago worshipped false gods.

I said as well do not call anyone father for you have only one Father in Heaven. the practice of naming a elder teacher what ever father goes directly against scripture.

Matt 23

5All their deeds are done for men to see. They broaden their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels. 6They love the places of honor at banquets, the chief seats in the synagogues, 7the greetings in the marketplaces, and the title of ‘Rabbi’ by which they are addressed.

8But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers. 9And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. 10Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Christ. 11The greatest among you shall be your servant. 12For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.

If you want to dismiss Scripture and engage in idolatry, that's on your head. I won't concede on what Scripture clearly says.

For the most part Catholics are blind adherents trusting the knowledge of men to save them instead of taking responsibility and searching for truth as Jesus commanded.

Anyway it is all up to you.... you can search or you can be complacent.. but the pearl of great price takes some work and not many seem to want to put forth the effort, what the church states it "is" and what it actually "is" are two different things.

The church had an opportunity to reform itself when Luther posted his Ninety-Five Theses on the Wittenberg Castle Church .. rather they choose power and control over Truth and still true to this day. They once again denied Christ.

In this day and age no one has an excuse for being a blind adherent, we are not in the middle ages with the Bible locked away ... kept securely away from the people lest they see truth, believe and be saved.

There is no point, people who defend the Catholic Church are locked in... religion just blinds people.

So sad.

Hmm isn’t that interesting.

The pine cone in the middle represents the pagan symbol of fertility, associated with the pagan and ancient Israeli god Baal, and the cult of the goddess Cybele. It is said to symbolize the pineal gland inside our brains. The shape of the papal tiara is based on it

I did not know that, now- Jesus told us no weapon would prevail against
His Church", and we know His church is the "Eklesia" as used in the Greek NT, and we know of many in the RC and ALL around the world whose hearts are His.
We were never intended to have "churches" as we know them we are to meet together as a body in His name.

On this site, in one thread, I have seen the following comments abot Catholics and the Catholic Church

"...the current Pope is trying very hard to meld with Islam because he sees the profit potential".

"...on this protestant site, where the Official stance is "Catholic is not Christian""

"The Catholic Church does deny both Father and Son ... and the adherents have no clue of such."

"...the Vatican is a structure meant to be imposing to fend off enemies…there is no truth to be had in that institution."

"Both the roman catholic church and islam are evil religions and not of God"

"... the Eastern Orthodox Church which had broken away from the evil roman cathoic cult"

Not one of these statements was supported by a shred of evidence.
The thread by the way was another piece of anti-Catholic bigotry - "muslim-religion-started-by-catholic-church"
It is obvious you have never studied the Scripture but have believed what your priest has taught you.
You have been deceived.
If you place your hope for eternal life in Heaven with Jesus on what that priest says you should, you will spend eternity in hell.
I do not hate you or anyone, not even that priest that taught you those lies, but I do hate any so called church that teaches a false Gospel that leads people to hell.

I think I might have to do with priests sexually abusing children and those in Catholic church just turning a blind eye to it. Not to single out the Catholic Church but this went on for decades and so many people were affected by this religious insitution that the only option would have been to leave but in catholic circles this is not given as an option cos of the oaths and such that people make when they join.

A lot of doctrine doesnt line up with scripture, for example Mary is the mother of the son of God. but catholics keep insisting mary is the mother of God and leave out 'the son' so that confuses people.

I know a great many ex-catholics who just got burned out by following all the rituals. But we are not called to hate anyone. I had considered working in a catholic school but I couldnt agree with all the religious teaching there. I think it would be difficult but probably no less challenging then working in a secular school. People still need the Lord wherever they go.

Can you give an example of that because I think your claim is not true.
Believe me, I wish I was wrong. I’m a hospice chaplain and serve people of all faiths. The overwhelming number of Catholic patients I serve either refuse pastoral care because they’ve had enough doom and gloom or the ones who accept my pastoral counseling share their fear of God and of dying.

I teach them about God‘s grace and they look at me like I have ten heads because they have no concept of what I’m saying. If your experience in the RCC is different then I rejoice for you.

I personally LOVE Catholics, they are generous, kind, truly loving people! The world has benefited greatly from a lot of cathoic services, hospitals, schools, selfless acting belivers in Christ. I almost became a Catholic last year because the service was beautiful, and well thought out, the ritual was comforting, the Peace to your neighbor bit, was especially nice. That said, when I went to the Catholic class, I was not in agreement with the Pope is the Christ on Earth bit, nor the Mary is the same as god thing, its polytheistic,
I personally am a Monotheist-Like the dear lord Jesus, Also, the institution that hides Predators and send them around the world to molest children - and rape people - is not my favorite...But this specific Pope is over the top with his merchandising, and world embracing statements - in direct opposition of the word of god.

Another moldy oldy.
We don't call our proests fater. We address them as father. Not the same thing.
