You are so wrong on this... completely contrary to scripture.
Surrender without any expectations of nothing in return... of course you would need to make that assertion so that you can cover your works dogma
The gift of salvation is received and sealed all at once.

The full definition from the Vine's does not change what I explained to you in post #128,836. Go back and read that entire post carefully. You have proved nothing, except that you have manipulated the Vine's definition of Pisteuo into promoting salvation by works. The word "faithing" that you invited also doesn't exist.

as i see it what you're talking about is after surrendering, e.g. Colossians 1:29 'striving according to His working which works in me mightily' or Hebrews 1:24 'striving against sin'
in the context of surrender, it is very simply laying down ones arms. conceding defeat. putting no more effort into resistance. this is an entirely passive act: it is the changing from active to passive. a soldier who is engaged in the act of surrender to his enemy is dropping his weapons and raising his arms in the air, doing nothing but offering himself as a captor & waiting for what his erstwhile opponent will do with him. it is effectually an implicit plea for mercy.
one who shows an open hand in this way ((rather than a fist)) may afterwards strive in what is required of him by his new master, but that isn't the act of surrender but a consequence of it.
i do not agree with this in the way it is stated.

if i only feint - as though if Obi-Wan had pretended to drop his guard only to coerce Vader into committing to a certain strike, which he planned to parry and counter, then i have not actually 'surrendered'
Obi-Wan here truly surrenders, and it is over in an instant; the instant in which he does not move to block Vader's imminent fendente.

terrible swordplay. Vader telegraphs his strike from a mile away, hits way past the center of percussion of the blade, leads with his off-foot, has the position of his hands inverted from where they ought to be, wastes all kinds of time and momentum with the angle of his cut... etc etc
literally all he has to do from the position he's in when Obi-Wan surrenders is step ((or lunge)) forward while raising his right hand above his left, turning the hilt to angle downward. the point of his saber would drop neatly into a thrust at Obi-Wan's neck / left collarbone, while maintaining a line blocking Obi-Wan's weapon from attack in case he was only feinting. this would take a fraction of a second, but instead he spends 5x as much time rearing back and swinging sideways at his shoulder with an upside-down left-handed grip and off-balance posture. stupid, stupid, stupid!! heck he's close enough he doesn't even need to step or lunge.
