Always the same ole tired accusation and another irony is that you do not even know what you are actually claiming.
Those that make this false accusation
are actually promoting their own worthiness.
Only a heart of a person that feels more righteous than others would make this accusation.
Paul states that those who argue grace is a license to sin, argue from a heart of disbelief.
I on the other hand am quite aware that my works do not achieve my salvation, nor keep my salvation.... but you do believe this... so you have disbelief about the Grace of God.
Next time you make that false accusation also remember Paul stated their "condemnation is just"

They do.
Do you think that's okay?
Is that really what God's grace in the believer is all about--being able to watch things like that?
Is it somehow self-righteous works not to watch those, and to tell other Christians they should not too?
You're under the assumption I assume these brothers are perfect....
Which would be a gross theological error.
Neither do I assume their transactions on this website to be wholely without unrighteousness. But their purpose, to bind themselves together, that Christ would strengthen them in fellowship, that is there. And your persecution, in that regard, is the persecution of the unbeliever.
Again with game of thrones. I don't know anybody who watches that show here. Go out and find those whom you accuse and preach your works to them.
I used the word 'willingly'.
This isn't about weakness in temptation.
This is about living in sin because you think grace makes it so you can do that and still be saved.
Is that really what grace was given to us for, so we can willingly and without conviction live in sin?
Rather, isn't it given to us so Christ can be Lord of our lives in saved, redeemed lives?
No, calling out sin is not persecution.
This is exactly the upside down gospel that we resist.
If calling out sin is persecution of the unrighteous then Paul was instructing the church at Corinth to persecute the unrighteous man among them who was living in gross sin.
You are not calling out my sin. You are naming someone else's sins and declaring my faith in grace unreasonable because of it.
It's hard to believe that exhorting the church to not watch shows like Game of Thrones is preaching works.
The church is in trouble.
This is not a debate on where game of thrones is an ethical show to watch (scarecrow argument) this is about proving anyone here actually watches the show, since that is your primary soapbox.
You apparently approve of those who may be watching it for fear of preaching a works gospel if you don't approve of it.
If that's what constitutes a works gospel, then the whole New Testament is a works gospel.
It's chock full of the righteous telling us what we're not supposed to do.
If you have to wonder if Game of Thrones is an ethical show for Christians to watch it doesn't matter who I can prove to you watches it.
Paul did not chastise one church for the sins of another. Come to think of it, none of the disciples did that....
If you accuse without evidence, it is the same as declaring yourself omniscient. You are not. I need hear nothing else from you.
In the absence of evidence (without cause) you have accused these brothers of watching a sinful show (you assume my opinions on it), and make yourself the shining example to follow (because you have not transgressed). I haven't heard you once ask how Christ would have behaved in effect towards the show.
