And what does this mean exactly?

Do you think confess means that a person must make an audible, verbal declaration that Jesus is Lord to another person or to a Christian or to a group of people to be saved

Words have meaning and it helps to look at the meaning of the word in its original language too.

My understanding is it MUST take place in your heart (human spirit) FIRST, where you willing Surrender to HIM as Lord and Master, OUT OF LOVE FOR HIM.

Then and only then, can it be a Confession, anytime you say to anyone, no matter where it is, "Jesus is my Lord", that is a CONFESSION.

The reason most people never have that experience, is they want to remain lord of their own lives. With me, I had to attempt suicide three times, before I was willing, out of Love for HIM, to give up being my own master and lord. That in my opinion is the major stumbling block, that puts people on the wide road to destruction in hades/hell.

He did, and I do nor deny have we "choice".... not sure about "free" as in free from any and all constraints.
I think we only have two choices really God or Mammon, but our choice of the two may be influenced by friends, family and often dictated by the government of the country where people live. :)

That is what I am saying. A case in point would be the Israelites who were God's chosen people but when thy backslid God transferred his grace to the Gentiles.
No,
God gave grace to the gentiles in OT see ninevah Who repented

grace has always been given to the ones who believe.

I will let you look up the meaning and then you can tell me.
From Vines
Confess, Confession [Verb] homologeo lit., "to speak the same thing" (homos, "same," lego, "to speak"), "to assent, accord, agree with," denotes,

But are you not talking about nations here?

I personally do not believe that God transferred his grace to the gentiles.
From the beginning of time God had a plan of redemption that included the gentiles and not a transference to the gentiles.

The promise given to Abraham.

Even before the death and resurrection of Jesus in the old testament those who were not Israelites were to be accepted, loved and cared for and treated accordingly to grace of God. It was offered and not transferred.

Deuteronomy 10:19
19 Therefore love the stranger, for you were strangers in the land of Egypt.

Leviticus 19:34
34 The stranger who dwells among you shall be to you as one born among you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Egypt: I am the Lord your God.

Ezekiel 47:22-23
22 It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. 23 And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord God.

Zechariah 7:9-10
9 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:
Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’

Given your post above if the gentiles backslid then God would transfer it.
But to whom?
The Bhuddists?
After all the religions of the times from the OT to the NT worshipped false Gods, aka gentiles, even Israel worshipped false gods.

The issue for me is "Transfer"

Then why would God give eternal life to someone knowing they would reject him in unbelief?

THE MAIN TWO MISTAKES THEY MAKE IS:

1. They do not know, GOD knows every Decision you will make, before time began.

2. They do not know GOD that GOD does not count those on the Wide Road to Destruction, as ever being HIS.

Matthew 25:12 (HCSB)
12 “But he replied, ‘I assure you: I do not know you!’

Jesus turns no one away.
Ah but me thinks you believe he does.

Backsliders as you quote.
Hebrews as you quote.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure you have said something along the lines of "there is a point of no return"

Read Romans 11 carefully. Paul is a bit long-winded and goes all round the houses.

Because he is a hard taskmaster who plays chess with Jesus.
Checkmate son, he is out. He didn't make the grades.

Now I'm gonna use my tipex and erase that name from the book of life.

This is a fun game isn't it Jesus.

Jesus turns no one away who comes to him in faith believing. Think of the thief on the cross for example, but not those who worship another god.

Where does it say transfer of grace?

Can't see it.

Romans 11:1

Israel’s Rejection Not Total
1 I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

Was the seed of Abraham just Israel?

If so then you may have a point.
If not then what is your point?

Are not you the seed of Abraham?

They reject themselves, but there is no coming back because Jesus died once and once only for the sinner.

I'm going.
So backsliders cannot return?

You say they cannot.

Can you define for me a backslider?
