I’m a hospice chaplain providing comfort, peace and the reassurance of God’s love and saving grace in Jesus Christ to terminally ill patients. How’s that for good?
I would not want you anywhere near me.

What’s your point?
Don't have one. Just a comment. I don't mind dying, in fact I will be quite happy to leave this mortal coil. I have my grave already just across the way from my parents and grandparents, and when I go I am going to ask them to put a spade in the coffin, so I can make a tunnel, then we can have a chat. (Joking about the spade.) I will see them in Glory.

I met someone in the cemetery the other day, we were both walking our dogs, I pointed down to the ground and said, "Thats my grave" She was scared, she thought I was a ghost. I still pull her leg about it. (Not literally, although I wouldn't mind. :D)

I’m glad you’re approaching 75 and seemingly healthy being that you walk your dog on a daily basis. I pray you get at least another 25 with the same vitality.

Forget the spade, just make sure you got WiFi.

I just finished reading Mark chapter 9 and had an epiphany.

“Have mercy on us and help us if you can.” “What do you mean if I can?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” The father instantly cried out, “I DO BELIEVE, BUT HELP ME OVERCOME MY UNBELIEF.

This pretty much sums up the spiritual turmoil of worker bees and those who believe they must maintain their salvation.

why did the guy say "i do believe" but then in the next breath said "help me overcome my unbelief"? which one is it?

Both.

Jesus said

Mark 9:23
23 Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

So Jesus is saying "If"

The man replies I do believe but there seems to be can overcome the "If"

So there is a nagging doubt.
Let's not forget that the boy was possessed from childhood.

So in a sense the father is saying I believe but part of me is struggling with it. Please help me. You say if and I do if, help me change from if to it's true.

It's not dissimilar to what we experience in our walk.

Simple example.

Jesus said that God loves us as much as he loves Jesus.

That is true but how many Christians believe that?
My experience is not many.

So the question asked is "Jesus if that's true then please help me to accept this truth"

It's accepting the truth. Replacing the "If" of it might true with the reality that it is.

That is why the father said "I need help to overcome the unbelief that I'm struggling with"

This came from Pastor's sermon this morning. This is a OSAS JEWEL in the O.T.

Psalm 37:18 (HCSB)
18 The LORD watches over the blameless all their days, and their inheritance will last forever. 🖜 There is OSAS in the O.T.

Ecclesiastes 7:20 (NKJV)
20 For there is not a just man on earth who does good And does not sin.

Therefore they are not Blameless because of what they did or did not do, they are Blameless because of what CHRIST DID ON THE CROSS.

Titus 3:5-7 (HCSB)
5 He saved usnot by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy, through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
6 He poured out this ⌊Spirit⌋ on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,
7 so that having been justified by His grace, we may become heirs with the hope of eternal life.

1 Peter 1:3-5 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. According to His great mercy, He has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
4 and into an inheritance that is imperishable, uncorrupted, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.
5 You are being protected by God’s power through faith for a salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

YOU PEOPLE WHO HAVE CALLED OSAS A LIE OR NON-BIBLICAL, you may want to repent now.

Hebrews 13:8 (HCSB)
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

Malachi 3:6 (HCSB)
6 Because I, Yahweh, have not changed,
you descendants of Jacob have not been destroyed.

Revelation 16:9 (NRSV)
9 they were scorched by the fierce heat, but they cursed the name of God, who had authority over these plagues,
and they did not repent and give him glory.
