It is unbelievable how many verses we have shown him, and still, probably out of pride, he refuses to believe.
Here is the ones that I thought would bring him around:

One thing you can depend on is how consistently inconsistent their dogma is...ie "Yes Jesus paid for all my sins as long as I have no sins."

Romans 5

5:20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

Don't you think it would be ok to call salvation imputed grace?

for the second time yes we have
if we are not imputes the righteousness of Christ in us and on us like paul said, then we are left to our own righteousness. Which means we are doomed for all eternity,
Imputation is part of the salvation process, God takes the righteousness which Christ lived (perfection) and places it onto our account, replacing our righteousness,

God is a righteous judge, perfect in all ways.
1. The righteous judge requires a penalty for sin, no matter how great or small that sin might be, no matter how insignificant we think a particular sin is, God has declared a penalty for that sin

3. The only way to pay foe that sin to make amends for that sin is to pay the penalty, that penalty is death.
4. another person who is also guilty can not pay the penalty in your place. for he must pay his own debt.
5. However a person who is not guilty, who has never sinned, is able to make repetition for your sins and atone them, there by setting you free from that debt.
6. God, in all his Glory, did this by becoming man, suffering the death of the cross for all men and women and children, making atonement for all sin.

Why are you having a hard time understanding that God "imputes" righteousness? (Romans 4:6) The word "impute" simply means to charge or put to one's account. Other translations say "credits" or "reckons." It's not painful and is the only way in the eyes of God that we will be seen as righteous. Apart from the righteousness of God in Him, we remain clothed in our own filthy rags of righteousness/our sins remain.
What's painful was for Jesus to become sin for us on the cross. 2 Corinthians 5:17 - For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that WE might become the righteousness of God in Him.
