Oh , I thought you meant gay like happy days, not that perveted kinda gay ..
Monday tuesday...wednesday thursday...Saturday what a day...or does it start on sunday? Not sure.
I only recall the theme song as the show was only rerun in the early 90s when I was born, is it groovin' all week with you? or spendin'?
Oh, and then "meet the flintstones" and "have yourself a merry christmas" or whatever the song titles are.
On topic, is it fair to say that ALL sin separates us from the Lord and this is a highly practical lens for a productive start to a discussion with someone on a particular matter? To focus on the difficulty of sin like a cancer is potentially a good starting place.
I do think that there are distinctions made between sins particularly the eternal sin with no forgiveness possible. Paul made a further distinction between sexual sins being a sin against your own body. I can provide the references if you like.
Either way, it ALL separates to one degree or another, as well as the fact that separation functions differently on a personal level.
that is NOT to say it does not function. Just that some are more or less okay with a bit of separation and some it is agonizing. It seems to depend on the person. So engaging that element is helpful in my experience. I find this conversation to gauge that can be started by using the analogy of a significant other and their preferences/disagreements causing distance.
The Lord isn't a fan of sin. Therefore, an argument such as "I was born this way" (referring to a sinful nature btw), does carry some weight in processing your own weaknesses, and seeing how his strength is made perfect in our weakness.
Anyway, I could expound a few of these approaches if it anyone would like, but typically it's situational with how I interact with people about seeing something as potentially sin, then sin, management, deliverance. It's a process for some and others it's straight from start to finish in a single breath.
Personally, I don't experience the latter, because I rarely focus on it...there have been many moments where I'm like..."oh, I don't struggle with that any more. Cool. Thanks." I usually need at least some processing, and then I occasionally get to a point where I'm at my own end so I just leave it alone with the Lord and sometimes it just disappears and other times, I reanalyze at a later date. It just depends. I don't believe in free rides. Even if you had a "golden ticket" there is a reason why you have that, and you aren't given breath in your lungs to perpetually be in infancy.
It's not precisely meeting the Lord halfway. Maybe 1% or .0000001% (who knows, not I) but that is part of our growth. Note: I am not suggesting that salvation is not a gift or that we get ourselves there. I'm talking about opening the discussion and or sanctification and pursuit of righteousness and sowing and reaping. Some fields you need help to break the soil and others the work that has already begun in you is sufficient to the task, except some are a bit lazy. I certainly have been, and that's where a lot of this comes from ha.
