Once again.....because I know this is truth and red X against truth only emboldens me...

a. A believer has done works already in BELIEVING on the one that was SENT <---the works of the Heavenly Father
b. But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness

The above two truths cannot be swept under the table nor can they be embellished with more than the truth that they represent.

HOW many works PROVE salvation, can ANY WORKS prove salvation?

LOST men do MANY wonderful works in the name of JESUS every day<---the MANY that come before the throne and some MEN DIE with ONE WORK....believing on the one whom was SENT.......FAITH saves regardless of any and all work

Always resisting the Holy Spirit. Arguing with the Word of God. But I love to testify to the grace of God and to give glory to Jesus Christ for what He has done! Praise the Lord!

You preach against grace and preach works....plain to see.

Works that prove salvation is a Gospel of works because "by works" is not how we are saved.

it wasn't until after he asked for patience and promised to fully repay that his Master took pity and forgave his entire debt. so he wasn't ignorant of it; it hadn't yet occurred.
Oh, I see what you're saying.
He didn't ask for forgiveness. He asked for time to repay the debt, not have it forgiven. But the king forgave it anyway instead of setting him up on a new repayment schedule. But doesn't this still show that the free gift was taken back?

Besides that point, I think what the story illustrates is we can tell who is deeply cognitive of the mercy of God they have received and who isn't by the grudges they hold. And they seem to run pretty deep among us 'Christians'. Wouldn't you agree? That path from grudge holding to unconditional peace has been a long journey for me, one that I'm still walking, but after all these years, one I may be fairly far along on (I hope, lol).

For us being the group of people of all people who have the forgiveness of God you'd think being offended wouldn't be the biggest problem we have, but it is. Go figure. (There's those four fingers pointing back at me, again, lol. No, wait......three fingers. I just checked. I noticed if you hold your pointy hand gangster style you can't see those three fingers pointing back at you. )

This is for those on CC who choose to deny sound doctrine of Jesus Christ; If you quit denying sound doctrine of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God might graft you in again.

Romans 11:23
And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

why do you not explain what the correct, sound doctrine of Christ is??

you preach it, what is it? in your own words?

Here we go again. Fear and bondage to IN-security is no way to live the Christian life. :(
I don't know what they teach, or even why what they teach matters in our non-RCC church, but you obviously were never taught in RCC that you are completely secure as long as you are believing in Christ and so have no reason to fear. But at the same time a healthy dose of holy fear keeps you in that secure place of believing in Christ.

It's like hanging onto a guard rail overhanging a cliff. You don't fear falling because the guard rail is there. But you're holding onto the railing because you don't want to fall. Get it?

Honestly, I don't think you have to harp on what the Catholics think and believe. That's a whole other world of beliefs that don't concern us. We are what we are, and they are what they are. Our discussion should stay within the boundaries of what we are, not what they are. I don't care about Catholicism. Few of us non-RCC do. We don't need to bring them into our discussions because some among us may have a faint resemblance to them regarding works.

Most of us on CC already know what the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ is, I am continuing to promote the necessity of believing the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ for those who still refuse to believe.

Instead of asking me what the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ is, you actually have to believe the sound doctrine of Jesus Christ.

You run all over the forum yelling about the need for believing "sound doctrine" but you don't have the stones to define what "sound doctrine" means. Get some integrity.

A false gospel of works will build a church that may look pristine on the outside but on the inside is the stench of self-righteousness.

I quote @dcontroversal
read this and learn....

LOST men do MANY wonderful works in the name of JESUS every day<---the MANY that come before the throne and some MEN DIE with ONE WORK....believing on the one whom was SENT.......FAITH saves regardless of any and all work

Only IF they are done out of that PURE AGAPE LOVE, THAT GOD PUT IN THE BORN AGAIN BELIEVER.
HOWEVER, it is the AGAPE LOVE for Him and the Brethren, that actually proves SALVATION!
JESUS CHECKS THE MOTIVE IN THE HEART TO SEE WHY YOU DID WHAT YOU DID TO SERVE HIM, ONLY AGAPE LOVE WILL HE APPROVE.

Psalm 7:9 (NASB)
9 O let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; For the righteous God tries the hearts and minds [FOR MOTIVES].

Revelation 2:22-23 (HCSB)
22 Look! I will throw her into a sickbed and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her practices.
23 I will kill her children with the plague. Then all the churches will know that I am the One who examines minds and hearts [FOR MOTIVES], and I will give to each of you according to your works.

Matthew 25:31-46 (HCSB)
31 “When the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on the throne of His glory.
32 All the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33 He will put the sheep on His right and the goats on the left.
34 Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
35 For I was hungry and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you took care of Me; I was in prison and you visited Me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You something to drink?
38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or without clothes and clothe You?
39 When did we see You sick, or in prison, and visit You?’
40 “And the King will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’
41 Then He will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from Me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the Devil and his angels!
42 For I was hungry and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty and you gave Me nothing to drink;
43 I was a stranger and you didn’t take Me in; I was naked and you didn’t clothe Me, sick and in prison and you didn’t take care of Me.’
44 “Then they too will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or without clothes, or sick, or in prison, and not help You?’
45 “Then He will answer them, ‘I assure you: Whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for Me either.’
46 “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

And now grace and peace are mine in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness through my knowledge of Him who called me by His own glory and goodness. Through these, He has given me His very great and precious promises, so that through them I may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter 1:2-4

I love what grace does! I love how salvation changes the life of those who believe. Now that we have been set free from sin and have become slaves to God the benefit we reap leads to holiness - the result of which is eternal life. Romans 6:22

Once I was alienated from God and was an enemy in my mind, as shown by my evil behavior. Col.1:21. But then the grace of God came to me and I was born again. Amen!

Take hold of the promises of God today. Take hold of His Word and abide in it as true disciples of Jesus do. Knowing the truth, they are set free.

"Bear fruits that are deserving and consistant with [your] repentance [that is conduct worthy of a heart changed, a heart abhorring sin.]" Lk.3:8a Amp. And don't just rely on wishful thinking or labels. The Master said, "Follow Me."
How many works does it take to maintain your salvation and how often?

You didn’t answer the question, pussycat.
Translation: you don’t know the answer because you don’t understand that we are saved by grace through faith. And it’s beautiful.

Christ within me does His work. It is the Way of faith! Amen. A living, abiding relationship with the living Son of God. Behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.

When His Kingdom comes, His will is done. As God said, “He who does what is right is righteous.”

Seeking to divorce faith from what we do is insanity. Mockers will mock but I will not stop boasting of what Christ has done in me. I will not cease to glorify His name. His is Savior and Lord. Amen. He purchased us with His blood.

Here’s a reality check, sunshine, Christ does his work in all of us who believe in Him. We rejoice that His grace is sufficient.

To fear the Lord is about reverence and not fear and bondage to IN-security. The RCC also teaches a maintenance plan to secure salvation. Difference in style, but same in substance. You seem to be motivated by fear and bondage to IN-security and self preservation. In Psalm 37:28, we read - For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. Jude 1:1 - Jude, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, To those who are called, sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ. It's not ALL about US.

It's like hanging onto a guard rail overhanging a cliff. You don't fear falling because the guard rail is there. But you're holding onto the railing because you don't want to fall. Get it?
I get it. You are teaching self preservation. Those who are truly born of God have received a new nature, a divine nature (2 Peter 1:4) and are new creations in Christ. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Genuine believers do not want to let go and fall off a cliff.

Honestly, I don't think you have to harp on what the Catholics think and believe. That's a whole other world of beliefs that don't concern us. We are what we are, and they are what they are.
Yet the RCC strongly opposes OSAS as do ALL works-salvationists, which has always been a red flag for me.

Our discussion should stay within the boundaries of what we are, not what they are. I don't care about Catholicism. Few of us non-RCC do. We don't need to bring them into our discussions because some among us may have a faint resemblance to them regarding works.
Roman Catholics are not the only one's who teach salvation by works and NOSAS.
