Well attractive people do get chatted up. That isn't "recruitment". Nightclubs are full of people trying to hit on others. We do have the ability to say we aren't interested.

I,m very happy for God to judge me. The problem comes from judgements from other people.
you have already been judged according to the Bible unless you turn from your sin. sin is something we are confronted with every day but living a sinful lifestyle is not the same as a committed Christian who may still struggle with their flesh

a practicing homosexual who calls themself a Christian is deceived. there is no such thing as Christian homosexual

there are liars only and they will be answerable for their own sin and for creating the opportunity to draw in others

as the Bible states, their reward will be swift

God states there will be no homosexuals in heaven

that leaves one other choice

you are free to go your own way

my last word to you. Bibles are available to you.

I don't understand why what I said is so sad. I was never gender confused. I was an only child the priesthood appealed to me because I thought it looked like a really cool job. They always wore neat and clean clothes. Everybody loved and respected them. It was put upon me even before I knew anything about sex, that it was my responsibility to become a father and to pass on the family name. When I became older and learned the difference between men and women, I had no objections.

As an average white boy I never heard of student grants being available to me, but I heard about the GI bill and the "Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country." Slogan. So I did what I thought was proper and beneficial on all fronts. I'm a grandfather now. I have worked a lot with Gays in crisis counseling, substance abuse and prison ministries. My past is in the past. I was never gay. The most I could use prayer for is Rheumatoid Arthritis and financial help to get to my next home north of the border. But thanks for your concern, truly.
I’m so sorry calibob, but my response was solely meant for dibby. I don’t know how your post got mixed up with my response. Again, I’m so sorry about this.

:) And there was no "choice" about it when you were four. It just happened. You were attracted and you knew. It's the same experience for gay people.
I highly doubt it.

Research and understanding regarding the causes of homosexuality before the APA changed is standing has been suppressed.

Romans 1 is talking as much about idol worship. It talks about men " leaving the natural use of the woman" ( interesting that no one protests about women being "used"!).
You are joking, right? Please tell me you are joking!

The sad thing is, I know you are not :(

Women have been used, abused, minimized, marginalized, raped and murdered for being the fairer sex for centuries. On average in Canada, a woman is killed every other day. Once a week a woman is murdered by her partner, and one in three women will experience some form of sexual violence over the course of their lives. We were not legally given the status of being "persons" entitled to vote until 1916/17 in most provinces; Aboriginal women did not earn the right to vote until the 1960s. Women protesting has changed some of those conditions.

I appreciate what you said and it's very true. However the APA did change it's stance on homosexuality. Thereby legitimizing gender reassignment. That's part of the reason the DSM IV is now obsolete. Rather than being considered a group of mental disorders they are now reconsidered like birth defects and correctable, via surgery and hormone treatments. There's more money in it. I knew a lesbian that was a candidate for gender reassignment. It's not only men.

from my observations, choosing to be homosexual is a choice. caused by an overbearing mother, absent or weak father, and manmade conditioning, such as if you like sewing, knitting and flower arranging , you must be gay. In other words people have conditions and expectations on how to behave as a man, If you don't fit that criteria, then you must be gay. Other thing is unconditional heartfelt love for a male, doesn't mean you have to have sexual relations with him, just because you love someone.

I think you misunderstood my point Magenta. I meant that believers will use this scriptural verse to justify a position against homosexuality, but in it Paul talks about men and the "use of women". . I wonder why this using of women is not protested, but homosexuality is?

The rate of gender-reassignment from female to male is about 3x as high as the opposite we might expect.

It’s just sad.

Back when I worked as a patrolling police officer I remember some of the cases where people from the LBGT where involved.

Some of them were so badly beaten that it was devastating to look at them. Beaten by partners, ex-partners, complete strangers, psychopaths roaming the streets preying on easy targets etc.

I guess they sort of put themselves into those situations, but I’m not sure they are choosing to do so...but when society is rejecting them, bad things will happen to them...indeed sad.

They need our prayers. Condemnation is not our job.

I would never condemn them. I have seen the atrocities that they’re going through first hand, not only in a professional setting, but also because my childhood friend lived like that throughout her life. A life of alcohol, drugs and God knows what. I feel so sorry for not being able to help her. So terribly sorry.

yes, as long as your 'love' for them is based on Jesus' Holy Love = brotherly-sisterly Love

you are very wise - the variety of situations that meet us head on every day are immeasurable - most are not of our choosing,
but most or the results occur because of our ignorant/mis-understanding of the results, of which we must pay...

It is really difficult trying to get Christians to understand that people don't choose their sexuality. For a gay person that is like hearing that they choose to beat their heart, or choose blue eyes instead of brown. I mean I should know what my own experience of life has been! We don't choose who we fancy......it just happens.
Thankfully the 21st century is better than it used to be. I,ve known people come out as gay and lose their jobs; been thrown out of church; thrown out of their home; rejected by parents. Is it any wonder people want to start a community of their own?

My other point was, in spite of political correctness or liberal politics. Homosexuality is far from normal. I still think it's is some sort of mental and or emotional disorder. That's why I brought up the suicide and substance abuse statistics. They go hand in hand with mental and/or emotional problems. When they changed the Diagnostic and Statistic Manual that identifies and codes Psychiatric, and or emotional illnesses and disorders. It didn't make the problem any less real or severe.

Gender reassignment therapy/surgeries don't solve the inner mental, emotional and spiritual dilemma's that they face on a moment by moment basis. What or however it happened that caused this conundrum, I don't know. Gay is an unfortunate term. Statistics indicate to me that a large percentage of them are neither happy or care free. Unfortunately, I believe they are sick and confused.

First Peter 3:8 “Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble.”

Homosexuality: The Mental Illness That Went Away

October 8, 2011 By Phil Hickey |
Post edited and updated January 2, 2013, to reflect clarifications as a result of interactions with the many people who have left comments. I thank them for their input.

According to the American Psychiatric Association, until 1974 homosexuality was a mental illness. Freud had alluded to homosexuality numerous times in his writings, and had concluded that paranoia and homosexuality were inseparable. Other psychiatrists wrote copiously on the subject, and homosexuality was “treated” on a wide basis. There was little or no suggestion within the psychiatric community that homosexuality might be conceptualized as anything other than a mental illness that needed to be treated. And, of course, homosexuality was listed as a mental illness in DSM-II. (The DSM – Diagnostic and Statistical Manual – is the APA’s standard classification of their so-called mental disorders, and is used by many mental health workers in the USA and other countries.)

Then in 1970 gay activists protested against the APA convention in San Francisco. These scenes were repeated in 1971, and as people came out of the “closet” and felt empowered politically and socially, the APA directorate became increasingly uncomfortable with their stance. In 1973 the APA’s nomenclature task force recommended that homosexuality be declared normal. The trustees were not prepared to go that far, but they did vote to remove homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses by a vote of 13 to 0, with 2 abstentions. This decision was confirmed by a vote of the APA membership, and homosexuality was no longer listed in the seventh edition of DSM-II, which was issued in 1974.

What’s noteworthy about this is that the removal of homosexuality from the list of mental illnesses was not triggered by some scientific breakthrough. There was no new fact or set of facts that stimulated this major change. Rather, it was the simple reality that gay people started to kick up a fuss. They gained a voice and began to make themselves heard. And the APA reacted with truly astonishing speed. And with good reason. They realized intuitively that a protracted battle would have drawn increasing attention to the spurious nature of their entire taxonomy. So they quickly “cut loose” the gay community and forestalled any radical scrutiny of the DSM system generally.

The APA claimed that they made the change because new research showed that most homosexual people were content with their sexual orientation, and that as a group, they appeared to be as well-adjusted as heterosexual people. I suggest, however, that these research findings were simply the APA’s face-saver. For centuries, perhaps millennia, homosexual people had clung to their sexual orientation despite the most severe persecution and vilification, including imprisonment and death. Wouldn’t this suggest that they were happy with their orientation? Do we need research to confirm this? And if we do, shouldn’t we also need research to confirm that heterosexual people are happy with their orientation? And if poor adjustment is critical to a diagnosis of mental illness, where was the evidence of this that justified making homosexuality a mental illness in the first place?

Also noteworthy is the fact that the vote of the membership was by no means unanimous. Only about 55% of the members who voted favored the change.

Out of DSM: Depathologizing Homosexuality

As we've heard so much about humans being classified as animals, biologically speaking, "evolutionarily" speaking, what is of paramount importance in our recollection , as I see it, is that regardless of what one's posited belief is concerning the aforementioned, science or Creator God, survival of a species is dependent on procreation and reproduction of said species.

That homo-sexuality, same sex sexuality, is not a natural biological process co-concomitant to that end is obvious.
Two Lesbians cannot create an offspring. Nor can two homosexual males. They must therefore cross into the realm of hetero-sexual congress in order to survive their blood line or DNA.

Whereas, in the case of retarding human biological reproduction, exclusive congress, same sex sexual congress with no cross over into opposite sex congress, homo-sexuality would be the natural expression of neuter, to thus insure no reproduction, no new offspring, and the eventual extinction of the human race.

With numbers nearing 7+ billion souls on planet Earth to date, and calculations in the United States regarding the homosexual population at about or near 3.3% of the over 330 million + Americans, the polemic is heretofore neuter or atypical and therefore, ab-normal.

Many persons choose to believe that homosexuals are born that way because (like you) they can't conceive that someone would choose to be that way without contemplating that there may be more than two options. The third option is that homosexuals (like sociopaths) were made that way (environment).

If you look at the background (upbringing, family dynamic, etc) of sociopaths you will find that by far the majority of them come from homes where they were severely abused. If you look at the background of homosexuals you will likewise find common threads.

Being or choosing to be homosexual, gay, bi or transgender is demonic. But, what is “demonic”?

Look, when we sin in our “flesh” we just simply sin in disobedience to God. However, when we sin because of demonic oppression and possession....... well, we need deliverance. Demonic oppression is a deep pit and we need a rope..... we need Yeshua/Jesus.... He is The Rope, the way out... He is our deliverance. Amen.

Demons are spiritual beings that dwell in the spiritual realm. They, like viruses, are looking for a host cell - a body to possess so they can carry out what brings THEM (NOT US OR GOD) pleasure.

So may people don’t read their Bible. They don’t know when they have these weird sexual thoughts that it is NOT them, it is a demon messing with them in their thoughts. If the person comes in agreement with the demonic thought, then the demon is given access and can possess the person.

Read Romans chapter 1 in its entirety. Be free from sexual demonic thoughts and attempts to possess you. Choose the Father’s Will for your life.

Come out of agreement with any and all demons! YOU possess your vessel (body) and invite Yeshua/Jesus Christ in to dwell with you, AMEN!(y)
