but He saw that the fourth day was good.
Genesis doesn't say that about the second day - the day in which He separated the waters from the waters. and on the first, He saw the light was good, and divided it from darkness.
Hi thanks for the reply

He saw the light coming from the Sun that revealed the division is good. Just like the iron sparks that sharpen swords . In that way there must be division in order to establish a government of peace . One being in a greater position. But not greater person .Like the father and Son working together in perfect harmony . A loving authority working with a willing participant.

I have not looked at the second day that closely, its interesting. . It would seem he was ending the description (And the evening and the morning were the second day.) But then continues to reveals how he performed that work of faith.... preparing for the planting. Day three

And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good. geneisis 16-10

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the third day. 11-13

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good. And the evening and the morning were the fourth day. 18-19

Iron sparks don't sharpen swords. Swords are sharpened by removal of fine particles of steel which under the right conditions will heat enough to glow.

Posthuman Regarding post your post #192
I would respectfully suggest that the knowledge of Good vs Evil is in knowing their state of innocency. There was no wickedness in them before Satan entered the garden, they had never been tested by evil, they did not kill they did not engage in sex, they never lied, they never harmed any one or anything by bad deeds, speech or even by thoughts. They lived in perfect bliss with God who is holy. There was no death in the garden because there was no sin. The wages of sin is death, as there was no sin no death, they were like the angels whose number do not alter, angels cannot die, angels don't have babies, their numbers are stable they live forever. Adam would have continued to live for ever in communion with His maker if he had not been deceived by Eve. Satan rebelled and sought to spoil God's pleasure in the garden, God allowed Satan to enter and spoil, but God had a plan to rescue that lost paradise through His own son, who agreed to save man, to die in man's stead on the cross, so that man might be saved.
Everything I highlighted in blue is pure speculation. Do we really know all this? Where is all of it written? 4-scratch_chin.gif

by Eve.
Adam was not deceived.

1 Timothy 2:13-14
For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.

That's very often overlooked, and contradicted by popular interpretation, but it becomes an important point as we dig deeper into this; Adam understood exactly what he was doing, and had a reason to do it that wasn't based on a false comprehension

Good point lightning is power, see it for yourself
Christ also says that when He returns every eye will see Him, like lightning that flashes all across the sky. What He means here may be related

Matthew 24:27
For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

Let the scripture speak for itself, i think I’ve reached that point, of verses before

Luke 10
17And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. 18And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

in its simplest explanation.
1 Cor 15
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ is not risen
But God is Spirit, so there is still a question, why did Christ resurrect His physical body? Why not just as Spirit?
For some reason, God wants us to have bodies, not only now, but also in the resurrection

Matthew 24:27

Something cool to add. When the Lord returns as King, like the sun, Jesus will make a circuit around the earth, east to west, and all eyes will behold Him.

Psalm 19
1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.
3 There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.
4 Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,
5 Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.
6 His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

There will be complete darkness before His return. The light of His glory will be seen by all as the Bridegroom makes His circuit.

Matthew 24
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

As we see the sun rise in the east every morning and set in the west, this should be a daily reminder of His return. “The heavens declare the glory of God.” Amen!

I accept tha Eve was deceived, even then she knew she was rebelling,
and Adam chose to believe the lie.

You could characterize her deception as having been convinced that rebellion was the right thing to do - Satan had told her that God was lying to her, and she believed 'the lie'

IMO Adam didn't believe the lie at all. To me that doesn't fit with him being not deceived. Instead he knew he was doing wrong and did it anyway, 'listening to his wife' - if he is not deceived, and she is, then what she tells him is not the lie, but something else.
IMO she asked him to help/save her when she, with open eyes, realized she was poisoned with death, and that her sin could not be hidden ((i.e. she is naked, not covered)) - and Adam chose to join her in sin.

Besides, God told him it is not good for man to be alone. They were joined together as husband and wife, two shall become one.

What the first Adam could not do in saving his bride from death, the second Adam accomplished in saving His bride.

Mankind was formed as one creation flesh and blood and bone. Unlike the other beast of the field male and female separately. One work of creating to represent the future bride as a new creature.

Adam was formed given the higher position as a loving authority . . woman to represent the church the willful submissiveness . Lesser position not lesser person. As the husband he failed to protect his wife and therefore mankind fell . The new Adam or second performed the work nesecassry to be protect her forever .

It appears as temporary like wise Jesus human body was resurrected for about 40 days.

it appears the lowly body will be risen then transformed into glorious body upon the end days. the human body in today’s condition remains aging until death. Though people are renewed spiritually while in a aging body

Phil 3:21
who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.

I have to admit to consulting the "Believers Bible Commentary," I think the first two paragraphs answer your question?
I did not ask what the "Believers Bible Commentary" stated. I asked you:

You think the city, the gates, the street, the nations will all be in heaven?
If that's the case, why is there a need for a new heaven and a new earth?
Revelation 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth
Why not just the heaven if eternal life is only in heaven?

I believe we will live on a new earth in bodies that will never die ... death will be swallowed up in victory (1 Cor 15:54). God says there will be a new heaven and a new earth and I believe Him.

The fact that Rev 21:1 indicates there will be a new heaven and a new earth leads me to believe that there will be inhabitants on the new earth. Who do you believe will be inhabiting new earth?

seriously?

actually, the Bible states that Eve was deceived by 'the serpent' and in the NT, God puts the blame smack on Adam

besides that obvious error, some of what you state is just pure speculation

if a person wishes to speculate that is one thing, but presenting your personal belief as fact could be interpreted as biblical fact by some who are not so familiar with the Bible

wondering, do you consider sex to be sinful? I'm asking because of your comment with regards to it

Because I know this universe and everything in it was never meant to be forever.
You know this only because you live after the fall of Adam. I believe that if Adam and Eve had never sinned, they would still be alive to this day, and all of creation would have continued uncorrupted.

The earth we live on is the same earth on which Adam and Eve lived. Even in its corrupted state (due to sin of Adam/Eve), the earth is able to sustain mankind.

Do you believe God could make a heavens and earth which lasts forever?

Yes. Adam chose to join Eve. Adam became "like" Eve.

The Lord Jesus Christ became "like" us. He came in the "likeness" of sinful flesh ... Romans 8:3-4 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

What an awesome Savior we have!!! Praise God for His eternal purpose which He purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord!!!
