When Jesus was sold/betrayed, Judas received 30 pieces of silver.
Bible trivia question: what is the significance of 30 pieces of silver?
Bible trivia question: what is the significance of 30 pieces of silver?
You mean 12 Appostles? As there were many more disciples, at one time 72 were sent. But yes that may have been the wrong question to bring up.Whoa! Whoa! @stillness,
This is Bible Trivia, NOT Bible Discussion Forum......
We simply ask questions that are plainly and easily answered in the Bible scriptures, NOTHING that requires "interpretation" of the scriptures.
Our questions are just to cause each other to go back to our Bibles and search the scriptures..........we might actually read our Bibles more and find them and each other enjoyable.
After someone answers a question they are free to give any insight or their personal thoughts about the scripture BUT, the answers HAVE TO BE FOUND IN THE BIBLE.
Here's an example of an ACCEPTABLE Question:
Q: How many disciples did Yeshua/Jesus have?
A: 12
Here's an example of a NOT ACCEPTABLE Question:
Q: Why did Yeshua/Jesus choose 12 disciples and not 22?
The answer to this question is NOT in the Bible, although it is very interesting.
So, if you have insight about why 12 and not 22, then ask the ACCEPTABLE question first and then feel free to give your insight about why 12 and not 22 disciples.
Please keep playing Bible Trivia with us, just be sure to ask ACCEPTABLE questions. All are welcome and encouraged to play!!!![]()

12 appostles, 12 diferant personalities, 12 tribes, 12,000×12 in the Government of God, 12 planets according to Joseph who saw 11 and the sun and moon bow down to Him. One may be the asteroid belt. Just as the tribe of Benjamen had rebelled, and an apostle betrayed the Lord. Replaced by Paul from the tribe of benjamen.

I cannot find a verse in the Bible that plainly says Yeshua/Jesus is the Tree of Life in the Garden of Eden.
Please share your answer with us from the Bible. It needs to be a Bible verse that says it plainly.
While those things are true, it is not what I had in mindHello Magenta,
Interesting question......
So, is the answer that the 30 pieces of silver that Judas received for betraying Yeshua/Jesus Christ were significant that it fulfilled what Jeremiah the prophet had spoken and that the silver coins were cast to the potter in the house of the Lord which describes what Judas also would do with the 30 pieces of silver..... cast the coins at the feet of the Pharisees in the house of the Lord and they would buy the potter's field?
Matthew 27:4-7 King James Version (KJV)
4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.
5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.
6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.
7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury strangers in.
Matthew 27:9 King James Version (KJV)
9 Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value;
Zechariah 11:12-13 King James Version (KJV)
12 And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver.
13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
In responce to references of Jesus being the Tree of Life, verses that point to Him: "Wisdom is a Tree of Life." "Christ is made to us wisdom from God."So this is both a question and an inquiry into your post back to me!
1) is the tree of life Christ Jesus?
According to the scriptures
2) Is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil the serpent?
I wasn't asking a question with my statement about the serpent i was answering her question about the forbidden fruit in a question form!!
Anyhow i did not mean for it to be a question for your thread to be answered but to be pondered!
But TKS none the less!!
Abigail's, in 1 Samuel 25What was the name of the woman who uttered the longest continuous speech recorded in bible?
Because it is the actual amount I am asking the significance of.
Joseph was sold for 20 pieces of silver because that was the cost of a live slave. 30 pieces of silver was the penalty cost for killing a slave. Jesus was basically sold as a dead man. That is the answer I was looking forThe thirty pieces of silver is the fulfilling of Zechariah's prophecy on the price of a man:
Zec. 11:12,13 "And I said unto them, If ye think good, give me my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD."
Which had the same fate as Christ's 30 pieces.

Or who makes him mute or deaf, or seeing or blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12“Now then go, and I, even I, will be with your mouth, and teach you what you are to say.” 13But he said, “Please, Lord, now send the message by whomever You will.”
Yes.correct and at one stage He wanted Aaron to do the public speaking.
