It does seem like feminists are pushing hard for it to become almost necessary. Where the stupid idea of "Toxic Masculinity" ever came from, I'll never know.

I'll just drop this here.

MGTOW is definitely an over reaction to extreme feminism and is arguably contrary to scripture.

Men Going Their Own Way sounds great. Build yourself up, forget about relationships with women, focus on God and serving the church.
But most of the MGTOW groups I've seen and read about are just men upset at women. For men "going their own way" and not caring about women, they sure to talk a lot about women.
MGTOWs are a joke. They're actually obsessed about women.

If this was the case I wouldn't have issue with it, but in reality MGTOW tends to promote men disengaging from society.

That's the impression I get from the MGTOW guys I have talked to. I haven't talked to them much though... >.>

I can understand being against the sort of overbearing and “all men are pigs” vilification that extreme feminists like to tote. I personally think traditional gender roles are good, to a certain degree that has inclusion and fairness. But is this masculinity they are speaking of also to try and push things back for women in terms of education? Fair work practices? Work opportunities? If that is the case I would disagree.

In my opinion, anyone going their own way instead of the Lord’s will end up unfulfilled, whether man or woman.

A lot of guys who are actually going their own way and doing their own thing aren't obsessing over women, whether they've been hurt by them or not. Said guys will say that the vocal ones aren't doing the MGTOW thing right.

I actually agree with the MGTOW philosophy in general; if you're a man and you don't want to bother with relationships with women for any reason then live you life accordingly. Doesn't matter whether you've already been hurt or if you want to avoid being hurt.

See now that's a version of MGTOW I could agree with and even get behind.

But boy do the "women are EEEEEEVIL!" guys sure make a lot of noise!

As I said in another MGTOW thread, I'm joining the FTNIT group. That's the Felines Taking Naps In Trees group. We advocate and practice a philosophy of taking long naps in trees, on ledges, wherever there is a good vantage point and a comfortable floor, and waiting until all the fuss and furor has died down. By the time people get through yelling it will be time for dinner.

Yes i have heard of MGTOW..

It is a way of living that some men have adopted where they forgo marriage and remain single..

MGTOW means Men Going Their Own Way..

The way of life came as a response to the changes in family Law that has happened in most western countries in regard to marriage Law over the past couple of generations.. MGTOW men believe it is too easy for woman to go for divorce and also that the courts favor woman excessively in divorce settlements.. They believe it is too easy for woman to take their hard earned wealth and leave them destitute but even worse they believe that woman can if they wish to make an accusation that her husband is abusing to her and her Children, leading to the dad being barred from contact with His kids.. The prospect of this level of emotional pain and financial devastation makes marriage in the modern western society a far to risky proposition.. So MGTOW men decide to opt out of the marriage and family path in life.. They remain single and seek to fulfill their lives in other areas rather then through being a husband and a dad..

i think it's safe to say that if there is a growing movement of men who are upset with woman, there is a reason behind it.
MGTOWs would say that the majority of woman are entitled, self centered, and so accustomed to being placed on a pedestal by society that they demand it now.
MGTOWs would say that men and women are equal in personhood and importance, but that the majority of society does not see it that way.

MGTOW is not a joke. Nobody is laughing. It is the natural response to the way that radical feminism has molded our society in the last 50 years.

selfdissolving I would dispute the use of that word "majority." I know a few women like that, and I know some areas of society like that, but nowhere near the majority. Most of the women I know are good people.

That's my main beef with MGTOW. It broad-brushes women as gold diggers who are out to wreck guys for fun and profit. Sure there are a few, but the majority of women?

Then again... maybe it's because I'm in the South. If you can honestly say "the majority of woman are entitled, self centered, and so accustomed to being placed on a pedestal by society that they demand it now" then maybe you should move down here. Wherever you are living sure don't sound too healthy.

And now I'm thinking that while there are valid points to be made about how society has started to villify men and blame them for many things:
1) MGTOW sure are fortunate that almost as soon as they perceive that marriage law has become unjust, they have the option to simply forego marriage with very few consequences. That's an option that for much of history women who suffered from unjust marriage law and societal expectations have not had (and in many countries still don't because no one will give fair treatment or equal opportunity to those women). 2) The problem isn't really marriage or marriage law, it's people being encouraged to be more and more inherently selfish which gives rise to both the MGTOW and the women they're so desperate to avoid being tied to. 3) Have to wonder how many of these men have realistic expectations of their relationships with women. Are these men who would be good husbands to begin with or are they men who are doing us all a favor by taking themselves out of the marriage pool?

Sad really that men are against women and women against men and now we have groups that promote this. I think I would rather stay single. I would hate to meet an angry man and I suspect alot of men would hate to meet an angry woman. I think unless God points someone out to you, stay single.
